She's a near-exact clone of his equally trashy ex-wife, Kim, the only woman he seems to have ever been seriously involved with.

Not only did he adopt Kim's niece (daughter of her deceased twin sister), but he also adopted the child she had with someone else. I can't decide if that's noble and touching, or bizarre.

It sucks to finally come to the realization that your parents are only human beings just trying to deal with their own shit and the world they live in. I am relieved I never had the opportunity to have children who would resent me no matter how hard I tried.
