It's just too much of him. He is handsome but not in a unique way. He has some talent but only for television. He is not gay. So what is the appeal. The young guy who played Aaron Hernandez was a better actor, and far more handsome but I never see him anywhere.

Agreed, R20. He’s nothing special.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | December 3, 2024 4:11 PM |
R20 because he looks more Latino and embraces his Latino heritage. It’s a thing in Hollywood. Remember how white people loved Beyonce and then the minute she finally acknowledged she was black it became a thing? They seem fine with you as long as you don’t acknowledge what you are and cater to them.
NAC caters to whiteness and fortunately looks just like his mom with a slightly olive hue. He looks nothing like dad. He never acknowledges his Mexican half, not even to a Mexican publication. He’s labeled as a simple “white boy” by most despite his surname, which is intentionally mispronounces. It’s CHAVEZ in Latin culture, not SHAVEZ.
He makes it sound more Anglo.

OP - you seem to have a unique or lacking appreciation of American cultural history. Absolutely nothing about the pic at OP has anything to do with Patrick Bateman's character. He is an entitled "American blueblood" Ivy educated New York elite investment banker. A golden boy, who is also a psychokilier. What exactly in the look reminds you of that?
We understand you simply 🥰 LURV 😍 GORGEOUS 💕 Nicholas and you are his biggest fan. But learn your fucking memes otherwise you make a feverish and drooling fool of yourself.
Here's a suggestion - use AI to help learn the references you so sorely lack. I did this one for you:
CHATGPT:
Patrick Bateman, the protagonist of American Psycho by Bret Easton Ellis, is a quintessential representation of 1980s upper-class, urban socio-economic identity. His background and class identity can be described as follows:
Socio-Economic Class Background
Wealth and Privilege:
Bateman is a wealthy investment banker working at Pierce & Pierce, a prestigious Wall Street firm. His career affords him significant disposable income, which he uses for luxury goods, dining at exclusive restaurants, and maintaining his lifestyle of excess.
Family and Upbringing: While the novel doesn't delve deeply into his family, it is implied that Bateman comes from an affluent background. His father is mentioned as a wealthy and influential figure, suggesting that Bateman inherited privilege and connections that paved his way into the financial elite.
Educational Elite: Bateman attended Phillips Exeter Academy and Harvard University, institutions associated with the upper echelons of American society. These schools reinforce his class identity and provide him with a network of similarly privileged peers.
Materialism: His obsession with designer clothing, expensive grooming products, and branded items underscores his position in the upper class, where status is closely tied to material wealth.
Class Identity
Upper-Class Consumerism: Bateman's life revolves around consumption and maintaining an image of perfection, which reflects the values of his socio-economic class. His identity is constructed through the accumulation of wealth and display of luxury.
Detachment from Lower Classes: Bateman displays disdain and lack of empathy for those he perceives as beneath him, including the homeless and service workers. His class identity is marked by an entitlement and superiority that further alienates him from others.
Alienation and Lack of Substance: Despite his wealth and success, Bateman's life is devoid of genuine human connection or purpose. This hollowness critiques the superficiality of the socio-economic elite, portraying a class where identity is tied to appearance rather than substance.
Class Performance: Bateman is hyperaware of social codes, striving to conform to the expectations of his peers in fashion, behavior, and even taste in art and music. This performance emphasizes the performative nature of upper-class identity.
Moral and Emotional Detachment: His extreme acts of violence and apathy towards others can be interpreted as a dark reflection of the dehumanizing effects of his socio-economic environment, where individuals are valued for their wealth and utility rather than their humanity.
In summary, Patrick Bateman epitomizes the dark side of 1980s Wall Street culture—privileged, superficial, and morally bankrupt. His socio-economic background and class identity serve as a critique of the materialistic and dehumanizing values of his class.

by Anonymous | reply 31 | December 3, 2024 7:34 PM |
This photo shoot creeps me out so much and I’m sorry but the interview creeped me out too. This is the third time I’ve seen him say he is an obsessive person and use it as a positive. He acknowledges that people say he has a dark side and he says he sheds his skin every few months and grows a new one, as if he is reborn every few months as a whole new person. This is not normal. It’s genuinely creepy.

Why is it all about putting men in women’s clothes today?
by Anonymous | reply 44 | December 3, 2024 10:14 PM |
I guess it's silly to argue with a great Stan. Yes, he's sexy and handsome. But you can claim that editorial is Bateman inspired as can the magazine but the looks have absolutely zilch to do with the character. The looks are dangerous and lux-sleaze latin lover.
One would have to rewrite the character of Bateman. It is a novel with a known character.
Of course this can be done, such as the many updatings of Les Liaisons dangereuses and its main characters.

Beautiful brown man.
by Anonymous | reply 50 | December 4, 2024 1:20 AM |
Ugh stop calling him brown to start drama. He clearly looks like his mom but that doesn’t erase that his father is Latin and a POC.
This interview is the first time I’ve seen him acknowledge his dad is Latin but he claimed his dad looks just like Javier and that’s a lie.
by Anonymous | reply 51 | December 4, 2024 1:23 AM |
R51 Who is Javier?
by Anonymous | reply 52 | December 4, 2024 1:39 AM |
I’m curious to see what happens with this guy. Does anyone here believe he is gonna be as huge as everyone claims? The industry seems to be pushing him very hard right now. It’s actually so aggressive we are seeing some backlash happen slowly.
I just don’t see him having the massive movie career some seem to think. I feel Hollywood tends to not cast the males of Ryan Murphy’s shows as much as the women. People have a particular perception of the males he casts.
R52 Javier Bardem. In the interview he mentions he struggled with some of the scenes with Javier, particularly the shooting scene, because Javier and his father look so similar and are both Latin men so it was really hard for him to film those scenes.
by Anonymous | reply 53 | December 4, 2024 1:43 AM |

by Anonymous | reply 56 | December 4, 2024 1:56 AM |
In the initial of OP's flood of images, he reminds me too much of the reptilian Matthew McConaughey. There's a certain sexual quality that comes through, but not for me it's more repulsive than attractive.
To me, the Patrick Bateman character was curious because of the contrast between the plastic perfect mannequin, everything correct to the serif on the exterior, and the monster within. OP's guy wears it all on the sticky pervy surface that highlights rather than hides the interior. There's no duality, only surface.

A.I. produced the character description of Patrick Bateman, which I posted at R27. Helpfully informing OP, our dedicated Chavez Stan, that the character of Patrick Batemen has very little in common with the particular vibe and looks of Mr. Chavez.
by Anonymous | reply 64 | December 4, 2024 2:42 PM |
Well yes. I said Chavez doesn’t look like what Patrick Bateman is supposed to look like. Christian Bale was perfect casting. That was Patrick Bateman. This kid is very attractive but he isn’t Patrick Bateman. He doesn’t look like a Bateman, no matter how fair his coloring gets.
by Anonymous | reply 65 | December 4, 2024 4:01 PM |
And yet I am accused of being insane. For informing our sparkle pony Chavez Stan, who seems to have the cultural sophistication of a fruit fly, that this is not a successful Patrick Bateman hommage.

Unlike most of the current young stars, NAC is not a nepo baby and doesn’t come from money. The reality of the business right now is that, with the contraction in movies and series being made, fashion is a great way for an actor to make consistent income.

Nicholas is obsessed with fame and status. Is he talented? Yes. Is he a star? 100%. Like my Australian friend who is a photographer said “I don’t know what it is about him, but he just has IT”. Is he attractive? Insanely.
But none of that matters when it’s obvious you’re fame obsessed and status obsessed. Not to mention rumors of his agency trying to screw over Cooper Koch. CAA (where Ryan Murphy pulls massive weight and got his precious Nick in the door) is known for aggressive marketing and shady dealings behind the scenes. They aren’t #1 or #2 every year for nothing.
Cooper has been playing his cards a lot smarter. More isn’t always better. Nicholas may be doing a lot more photoshoots and has essentially become the new darling of the fashion world but Cooper is still getting the better magazine covers and spreads, has gained more respect as an actual actor than Nicholas from Hollywood and the media, and now a GG nom while NAC was shut out.
