Anyone lime to browse the world of online antique auctions? Have made some good buys and looking forward to my latest purchase, a death mask.. It's a Christmas present for my rather morbid nephew.
It takes me a couple hours a day to wade through the alerts on saved searches, more time if I look through whole auction catalogues.

Yes R1. I search a few keywords. Then certain auction houses, and narrow it down that way.

That's cute, OP. I do enjoy adding quirks and benignant totems to my collections through auctions, procurers and research experts.
But perhaps more relevant to your experience is my giving my own nephew a bronze life mask of myself.
It was in response to his giving me a bronze piece made similarly of himself, although of other parts. Lovely.

Great timing. Just a few minutes ago I received my latest auction item: a fruit bowl from the legendary ocean liner SS United States. I'm excited to have a very small piece of her before she is scuttled. Such a waste of elegance and history...

I thought it was John Amos. That would be horrifying.
