I fucking hate LinkedIn

if I could kill it with fire, I would.

So many mediocre minds pontificating about capitalistic bullshit.

GOD WHO FUCKING CARES.

There’s no law stating you have to use the app.

There’s a simple solution-delete it and move on with your life.

I agree. I know someone that was a “consultant” there and thought he would become an exec. Of what? Such a stupid attempt at “social media”. His contract was not renewed and then he was on LI talking about how great it was work there and how he hoped he would return. Lame!

by Anonymousreply 2December 2, 2024 8:12 PM

I haven't updated mine in 10 years and don't give a fuk! But I'm probably losing business by not utilizing it. Grrrrr

by Anonymousreply 3December 2, 2024 8:15 PM

Are you forced to visit it? You sound moronic.

by Anonymousreply 4December 2, 2024 8:20 PM

Honestly OP if it causes you to react this way you should steer clear of it.

by Anonymousreply 5December 2, 2024 8:27 PM

It was ok years ago before they started a "feed" and it was only a repository of resume type of stuff. Now I really hate it and avoid it.

by Anonymousreply 6December 2, 2024 10:31 PM

Couldn't agree more OP. I also fucking HATE LinkedIn.

by Anonymousreply 7December 2, 2024 10:34 PM

Not only do I hate LinkedIn, I hate people who bare their professional ambitions.

by Anonymousreply 8December 2, 2024 10:58 PM

I seriously question the effectiveness of LinkedIn. I never got a job through it, never gained a customer from it.

by Anonymousreply 9December 2, 2024 11:15 PM

It's just a pain in the arse R9. If you're a corporate professional you have to have a LinkedIn profile and that attracts time waster recruiters who don't know anything about your profession and want you to apply for dead end jobs that nobody else wants. It drives me up the wall. I have never gotten a job or customer from it either. Total time waster.

by Anonymousreply 10December 3, 2024 12:29 AM

It's such a privacy killer. I'm not comfortable with the whole world knowing my entire employment history, background etc.

by Anonymousreply 11December 3, 2024 2:48 AM

I did actually get a good job from a random recruiter reaching out on LinkedIn. One time. I have never gotten a job through my network though. Ever.

by Anonymousreply 12December 3, 2024 2:53 AM

My company wants us all to blast PR and share shit IP on LinkedIn. So useless and annoying. I avoid it unless I have to. They prob will start including LinkedIn activity as a KPI.

by Anonymousreply 13December 3, 2024 2:55 AM

Trying to build a consulting business so I spend too much time on LI. It is soul sucking. The amount of goody two shoes spouting off about things like what makes a great leader and how company culture makes a difference. They are all brown nosing someone in their heads when they post that stuff. If I could, I would delete my entire profile forever and never look at that site again. Nothing annoys me faster than LI.

by Anonymousreply 14December 3, 2024 3:00 AM

It may die in a grease fire, OP.

by Anonymousreply 15December 3, 2024 3:03 AM

And the people who go on and on about how they work for the greatest company in the world and how fortunate they are, and then they're out the door in two years for somewhere else that makes them a better offer.

by Anonymousreply 16December 3, 2024 3:28 AM

Agreed. A forum for countless displays of American mediocrity and unchecked egos.

by Anonymousreply 17December 3, 2024 4:06 AM

Thank goodness I have a very stable job and don’t have to rely on LinkedIn.

I’m sick of all the humble bragging on there: “So honored to be named Person of the Year!” “It amazing listening to the advice of Barack Obama when he gave us a lecture.” Blah blah blah

by Anonymousreply 18December 3, 2024 4:40 AM

I got a job once from LinkedIn. Worked there a little over a year.

An anonymous person looks at my profile nearly everyday. Could they be a recruiter? A stalker? Ex boyfriend?

by Anonymousreply 19December 3, 2024 4:42 AM

I go on to hate scroll and fuel me up to finally quit the corporate world early in the new year. It was horrific enough when people posted their own crap but so much on there seems AI/ChatGPT generated now the fun of mocking individual brown nosers is gone as pretty much everyone sounds like a bot.

by Anonymousreply 20December 3, 2024 5:22 AM

Communist!

You teach 'em communism!

You're a fucking communist!

by Anonymousreply 21December 3, 2024 5:33 AM

Everyone hates LinkedIn. Although I do get hit up by recruiters all the time.
