I must admit Ludwig was one of the reasons I'd decided to watch Earth Abides and I was pleasantly surprised when I saw this scene.

I suppose there would be a lot more nudity if there were just a handful of people left on Earth, but I didn't think they'd add something like this.

I thought the start was a bit slow and obviously you have to suspend disbelief, but it was good to have a post apocalyptic TV show where the virus just kills almost everyone rather than turning them into zombies or monsters. It really covered that panicky "am I the only one left?" feeling, which is missing from shows like The Walking Dead and The Last of Us because you're just waiting for some monster to come running out of the shadows.

It's been described as a "miniseries" which makes it sound like it'll just be one season based on the book with no sequels.
