True enough, though Lynn Herring and Wayne were married before Lynn started to act in soaps. She'd been on a number of nighttime shows as a guest star, including an appearance on The Colbys, before she was cast on General Hospital, and I think at that point Wayne became somewhat of a stay at home dad, as Lynn became a leading lady on GH and was on the "front burner" for a long time, until the mid 2010s.

Wayne was on Dynasty in its first season in 1981.

When they let him go, he then booked Days as Roman Brady in late 1981. Three years later, he opted to leave the role despite achieving superstar status thanks to his pairing with Deidre Hall.

He then returned to Dynasty for its seventh season, 1986-87. .

In 1991, when Deidre returned to Days after a four-year absence, she convinced the producers to bring back Wayne as Roman, despite the fact that Drake Hogestyn was playing Roman. Wayne then stayed for three years.

In 2005, Wayne came back as psycho Dr. Alex North who was obsessed with Marlena.

Northrop was on 'Dynasty' just for the first season and a half, I don't think he was even on a full two seasons. Once Joan Collins joined as "Alexis", they kind of pushed Fallon and her dull affair with the chauffer off the tot he side and wrote him out. When ratings started to fall later on in the run (1987-88) after the 'Colbys' spin-off, that is when they decided to bring him back to see if he can boost ratings (he didn't).

Northrup was not one of the lead Dynasty characters so of course he appeared on Days of Our Lives more, especially since he his Days' story line was so closely connected to the lead Days actress--Deidre Hall as "Dr. Marlena Evans."

He appeared in at least 1000 episodes of DAYS. I've mentioned this before in another DAYS thread....Wayne was brought to the attention of Pat Falken Smith (and thus, the DAYS casting department) by Pat's teenaged daughter, who was a huge fan of DYNASTY & had a crush on him.

If Pat had a teenaged daughter in 1981, she must have had a somewhat late in live baby, since she was 55 in 1981.

R86, yes, Pat was an older mom (40-41ish when her daughter was born), and mostly a single-mom. Her husband, Jack, died a couple years after the birth of their daughter. She remarried some years later, but it was very short-lived, ended in divorce.
