Gay Supermarket Sweep Couple Still in Love After 41 Years

In 1991, Tim and Mark went on Supermarket Sweep and introduced themselves as "business partners." In reality, they were romantic partners of almost a decade -- but as Mark said, "back then you had to keep things quiet."

In this second episode of The Knot's Soulmate Stories series, Tim and Mark reflect on their incredible 41 years together and examine the bond that's kept them together. After they rewatch the famous clip, we quiz them separately to see how well they know each other. Then, they interview each other - discussing when they knew they were in love and the most difficult moment of both of their lives -- when Tim had cancer. The episode concludes with a heartfelt vow renewal, where they rewrite their promises to each other, all these years later.

Tim and Mark got married in 2008, the same day same-sex marriage was legalized in California (albeit briefly, for the right was later taken away again before being federally recognized in 2015). Strangers clapped as they declared their love.

Mark said: "I think there's a reason we found each other. We're soulmates." Tim said: "You're my net. When I fall, you're always there."

I'll bet they still have some of the stuff they got on the show. Canned peas in the back of the pantry.
