I've noticed lots of female pop stars have discussed being bi or their attraction to the same-sex and it gets barely any mention while if a male pop star did it it would be received very differently. For women it's often seen as a "phase" or experimenting whereas for men you tent to get labelled more and it follows you around. Part of it is probably that women have closer friendships with other women and share a lot more, have less boundaries, so it's not seen as a massive step to be more intimate with each other. But most guys are terrified of getting close to their male friends, emotionally or physically.
