Idiot burns his mansion down after attempting to fry Thanksgiving turkey in garage

Deep fried turkeys are delicious. They should always be cooked completely outside.

This is such a grim time of the year: Thanksgiving, Christmas, then New Year’s. You might as well burn your house down on Thanksgiving and get it over with.

You also need proper equipment, not something homemade from the tool shed.

I'm a boomer and when I was a kid there was always news about Christmas tree fires. I think people forgot to water them.

r16 they also used to have CANDLES instead of xmas lights...that was the cause of many a tree fire.

Say what you want, nobody is burning their house down making macaroni and cheese!

You have to use industrial type pots almost like for camping when you fry a whole turkey.

The key is not to overfill the pot with oil, keeping in mind how much oil the turkey will displace. And not doing it inside. I guess they thought an open garage door counted as "outside." At least these folks have money.

I’m betting they post a gofundme, though. I cooked a turkey breast in the crockpot. I was just not into thanksgiving this year.
