The highly-anticipated, nearly ten years in the making memoir by Barbra Streisand which didn't live up to sales expectations when it was released a year ago, is now available in hard-cover for $5.94. The nearly 1,000 page memoir was kept out of the top-spot in 'Non-Fiction Best Sellers' by memoirs by Matthew Perry, Brittney Spears and Liz Cheney. The publisher's price was listed at $47 when it came out.

Her teasers were dreadfully boring. It generated zero interest in the book.

Seems like a bargain on a cost-per-page basis.

Thanks! I just bought a copy. $47? Never. $5.94? Why not.

As with everything she waited too long and then the result was a self indulgent bore.

“The result was a self indulgent bore”
That could describe most of her output from the last 40 years or so

Bargain hunters in L.A.:
If you offer Lainie $2, she'll steal a copy for you.

Did The Book Shoppe in Barbra's mall drop the price as well?

Wouldn't it be funny if at this low price for the season (and forever) she knocks Cher out of the top spot on the best-seller lists ?

R11 I think it’s listed still at $59.95 there

The audio book is the best I ever heard and she has been nominated for the Grammy for Best Audio Book.

That price is like buttah!

I do imagine anyone willing to read 1000+ pages of a Babs memoir has stalking tendencies.

I’m sure the audiobook is entertaining, but how much time do I really want to invest in that, hearing about what brand of mustard she liked best on her pastrami sandwiches at the corner deli in 1963, etc.

The audio book was a snooze. It seemed like she was just talking into a mic (mostly about food) with little plan/organization/editing.

That's even worse than Janet Jackson trying to give away free concert tickets with free cds. Embarrassing.

I borrowed it from the library, and liked the first half of the book. After "Funny Lady" it was a bore, so if I bought it I would offer $3 and ask them to cut it in half.

R22 Same with me. Once she got into the details of ASIB, I got bored quickly.
