In your estimation, the main reason(s) he completely lost his marbles.
Why did America's Mayor Gouliani destroy himself over Trump's lost election then insurrection?

I almost feel bad for him because Dump skates while Rudy has to pay the piper
by Anonymous | reply 1 | November 29, 2024 7:37 PM |
He must have a busted spring to end up the way he has.

Like drug addicts, people who've been in the spotlight and applauded become desperate to stay in the spotlight.
He hitched his wagon to cheeto in the vain hope of recapturing the adulation and praise he received as mayor during 9/11.
Combine that with the arrogance and ego of wanting to continue his political career, rather than public service, and you have a recipe for disaster.
Finally, it seems like he might be suffereing from age-related mental decline.

Drunkard
by Anonymous | reply 4 | November 29, 2024 7:59 PM |
Come January 20, 2025, Rudy's problems will vaporize into the mist, as if nothing had ever happened.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | November 29, 2024 8:03 PM |
Because he was always an ass, from the beginning. You just haven’t noticed until now.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | November 29, 2024 8:06 PM |
R5 doesn’t understand federalism, much less anything else in the Constitution.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | November 29, 2024 8:07 PM |
^^^ Well, neither does Trump.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | November 29, 2024 8:16 PM |
R7 is either delusional or extremely naive.
Hey, idiot @R7: DJT has been wiping his ass with the US Constitution since January of 2017 and no one has done a good god damned thing about it.
Wake the fuck up already.

When you're indoctrinated into a cult of personality disguised as a major political party, your life becomes focused on pleasing the leader to stay in his good graces, rather than your own personal well-being. That's what happened to Mr. Giuliani.

You're far kinder than me because he was smart and sane enough to know that associating yourself with Donald Trump turns out badly for everyone but Trump himself. Bad decisions lead to bad consequences.

R10 thanks I'm OP and your last paragraph accords with my view - the mystery over why the last 6 months was worth his fortune and his reputation and the end of his professional life. He worked on Trump's winning campaign, then joined Trump's legal team in 2018. So why did he choose to be a traitorous criminal lying sack of shit when Trump lost? Some presidential administration prestige had already rubbed off on him he could have just continued as an East Coast lawyer and cashed checks.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | November 29, 2024 8:34 PM |
You obviously don't know how gangsters like Trump operate, R12. Plus, he has immunity to do anything he wants, per SCOTUS. If he wants to pardon a civil offender, he can and will do it because SCOTUS says he can do it in his official capacity as President.
Keep sticking your head up your ass. You may be able to lick your own balls if you get your head up your poop shoot far enough.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | November 29, 2024 11:17 PM |
Nobody will recognise the pardon. He can do it but he is not all powerful to make what he decrees happen.

You can't "pardon" a civil offender because they haven't been CONVICTED of anything. They were found liable. Not something that can be overturned by a "pardon."

Jesus R12. Take it easy.

He’s Italian-American. As anyone from New York or New Jersey knows, they’re not the brightest people in the world. And they often try to cover up their incompetence by yelling and screaming in the hopes that they will scare you away from looking deeper into what they’re doing.

What about the Sicilians? Everything’s bigger on us.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | November 30, 2024 4:29 AM |
Rudy got caught up in Trump's coup because that was his mindset. Remember right after 9/11 when he suggested that he should either remain mayor or a co-mayor with the newly elected actual mayor (further recall that 9/11 was a primary election day in NY)? He told us then that he thought election law is fungible. At least he's paying for it. FAFO.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | November 30, 2024 4:44 AM |
It was happening before.
Rudy was instrumental to the conspiracy to shakedown Ukraine to manufacture a Biden scandal back in 2018/9. That’s what got Trump impeached the first time.
Rudy started drinking heavily after his failure in the 2008 campaign & he always was an asshole.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | November 30, 2024 5:31 AM |
No one has mentioned how Rudy spent his security consultant millions like there was no tomorrow. Homes all over, fine wine, cigars and something like a dozen country club memberships. I think there was a big financial inventive for his Trump cronyism.
It makes his bankruptcy even more enjoyable.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | November 30, 2024 5:55 AM |
Because, dear OP, Gouliani is now and always has been an idiot.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | November 30, 2024 6:49 AM |
R4 explained everything.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | November 30, 2024 6:59 AM |
He started to lose it long ago- when he was mayor. He was always an asshole- my guess is that he is an alcoholic.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | November 30, 2024 7:04 AM |
Bitter old drunk. Frankly, I'm surprised he's lasted this long.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | November 30, 2024 7:05 AM |
I always wondered if he was being blackmailed

Glug glug glug.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | November 30, 2024 2:01 PM |
I can’t see R12, but I don’t have anyone blocked and I’m set on asbestos eyeballs.
How does that happen?
by Anonymous | reply 30 | November 30, 2024 2:13 PM |
We have no idea how much Trump will or will not take care of Rudy under the table.
Trump prizes loyalty above all else, and Rudy was loyal. So I think he will be "taken care" somehow, in some fashion.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | November 30, 2024 2:19 PM |
Trump values loyalty to him. He is not loyal. He dumped Rudy rather than pay him legal fees.

by Anonymous | reply 33 | November 30, 2024 2:29 PM |
I think R3 nails it. Rudy may have initially hitched himself to Trump as a very pragmatic move, but then that horrendous decision was exacerbated by severe mental decline.
