Going for vacation after the new year. Please give me some tips. What is the best hotel around Pago Pago? What are the best parks to visit? Best places to get Samoan food? Best activities?
Any DLers ever been to American Samoa?

Fit-fat big Samoan men are hot!
by Anonymous | reply 1 | November 29, 2024 8:24 PM |
Like this R1? Samoans take fit-fat to a whole 'nother level.

Gay marriage recog. was up for debate (years after the '15 SCD decision) the last time I checked on Amer. Samoa.
They don't seem friendly towards the rainbow community (except maybe for some $$) so maybe you should travel someone else for a nice time.

I would dance one of those warrior dances with R5. Smoking!
by Anonymous | reply 8 | December 4, 2024 9:54 PM |
R7 I’m not a narcissistic rainbow gay who needs everyone to kiss my ass wherever I travel. Whether or not they are okay with gay marriage has absolutely no bearing on me visiting there for a week and taking in the natural beauty.

I have.

They are almost all Mormons.
That's where the anti-gay stance comes from.
However in ancient times, they were very accepting of gay and trans people.
As usual, Western culture influenced them to be homophobic.

R13 Will you please stop lumping us all together (gay and trans, rainbow community)? I’m just a guy who happens to have a male partner and we dress and act normally and don’t feel the need for PDA’s. We aren’t cross dressers or trannies with bad lip injections, or anything else.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | December 5, 2024 12:49 AM |
Sorry R13 I meant R7
by Anonymous | reply 15 | December 5, 2024 12:50 AM |
R9 It's not about being "narcissistic" dumbass.
It's about respect, equal rights under the law & taxpayers getting their just desserts from the government they help pay for.
Cancel your Amer. Samoa trip for a one way ticket to Russia.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | December 5, 2024 12:55 AM |
R16 are you really this fucking dumb? So I shouldn’t travel anywhere they don’t like gay marriage? That’s most of the world. I’m not moving there. Why the hell should I care?
by Anonymous | reply 17 | December 5, 2024 1:01 AM |
R17 It's not just gay marriage numbnuts.
Maybe you're be like that lesbian couple on a Middle East beach that got in trouble with the gov. several years ago.
Kiss someone (who is the same sex as you are) in front of a police officer & see if anything happens to you.
You come off as a selfish jerk so why the hell should we care?
by Anonymous | reply 18 | December 5, 2024 1:08 AM |
R18 Is it really necessary to kiss and hold hands in public? Look I get it, the hissy pissy far left gays have to make a stink out of everything, but that’s not me. I’m perfectly happy to blend in with the culture and enjoy myself.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | December 5, 2024 1:15 AM |
Fuck off and die
by Anonymous | reply 20 | December 5, 2024 1:27 AM |
R20 instead of just telling me to fuck off and die, maybe you could try explaining WHY YOU THINK it is necessary to kiss and hold hands in public everywhere you go? Why are you going to die if you can’t do that for a period of one week in one location?
by Anonymous | reply 21 | December 5, 2024 1:30 AM |
This thread certainly took a strange, but not unexpected, turn.

I agree with you on this, R21.
I think that PDA is so ridiculous, for either gay OR straight people.
Keep it in private.
And in Samoa, those guys are big and burly.
You would probably get fucked up by them if you tried that in public.
You really would not want to mess around with Samoans.
To use the street vernacular, "They're not the ones..."
by Anonymous | reply 23 | December 5, 2024 4:01 AM |
R26 that guy needs to sit down on my rim chair immediately!
by Anonymous | reply 28 | December 5, 2024 5:43 AM |
What does PDA possess?
by Anonymous | reply 29 | December 5, 2024 5:47 AM |
In American Samoa all seems to breathe freedom and peace, and to make one forget the world and its sad turmoils.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | December 5, 2024 5:48 AM |
OP sounds like one of those I'm-not-like-those-other-gays wannabe masc losers. Everyone can tell you're gay, OP. Everyone. You're in for a rude awakening if you think you can prance through a homophobic environment undetected.

[quote]However in ancient times, they were very accepting of gay and trans people.
Again with the PURE FICTION that "trans" people were were actually existing in any other time period and were of course respected pillars of the community!
That is ALL COMICAL NONSENSE!

R31 My partner and I have been all through Eastern Europe and even inside the former USSR and have never had a problem. Can people tell that we’re a gay couple? Maybe they can, maybe they can’t. But either way, if you don’t throw it in everyone’s face, no one cares.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | December 5, 2024 6:12 AM |
R13/R32 When exactly did this whole thing start with automatically lumping gay and trans people together in every scenario and situation? As if they have anything to do with one another?
by Anonymous | reply 34 | December 5, 2024 6:15 AM |
R33, someone of your age should that homophobes hate you for existing whether you "throw it in their face" or not. If a Samoan wants to assault your gay ass then he's not going to care how butch you think you are. You got lucky in Eastern Europe and it's not proof of anything.
by Anonymous | reply 35 | December 5, 2024 6:31 AM |
Who here has gotten lucky in Eastern Europe? Tell us your tales.
by Anonymous | reply 36 | December 5, 2024 6:34 AM |
Its alright..... We went to Pago Pago a few years ago on our way to Australia........Stayed a week, should have cut that short by 3 days to add on to Australia...... There are nicer South Pacific islands that have their shit together. Samoa & Tonga do not........ Although, Tahiti was also odd....... Lovely hotels, shit towns...... Caribbean of the Pacific.

R35 is Exhibit A. This is what happens when you spend all your time in a liberal bubble. You become fearful of the outside world and your brains turn to mush.

You're the one spouting nonsense.
Of course, Polynesian cultures don't call it "Trans," but they have a long recorded history of "trans-like" people in their culture called MAHU.
In Samoa specifically, they call it FA'AFAFINE.
[quote] Faʻafafine (Samoan pronunciation: [lit. 'in the manner of a woman') are natal males who align with a third gender or gender role in Samoa. Fa'afafine are not assigned the role at birth, nor raised as girls due to a lack of daughters, as is often claimed in western media. Rather, their femininity emerges in early childhood, and Samoans recognize them as distinct from typical boys.
[quote] Fa'afafine are androphilic (attracted to males) and are usually very feminine. They comprise up to 3.5% of the natal male population, similar to the number of androphilic natal males in the west.
[quote] Most self-identify as fa’afafine, rather than men, while a small number identify as women. However, they recognize that they are distinct from females.
[quote] Fa'afafine enjoy relatively high levels of acceptance in Samoa. They can be seen in all areas of Samoan society, whether assisting as caregivers or working in government. The current Samoan Prime Minister has spoken about the value of Fa'afafine to the country.
I don't know why people like R32 come here SCREAMING IN ALL CAPS, as if they know everything.
Clearly you don't.
Clearly, you're deranged.

Fa'afafine Documentary.
It's pretty fascinating.
by Anonymous | reply 40 | December 5, 2024 8:56 AM |
Cultural explanation of the Fa'afafine.
Although I'd take it with a grain of salt, because these Samoans were raised in Australia.

R39 This is not the same thing as transsexual. These are basically ugly gay men. Transsexuals literally didn’t exist until 50 or so years ago when surgeries were possible.
by Anonymous | reply 43 | December 5, 2024 9:13 AM |
I could make a list of 10,000 places to visit and American Samoa would never come to mind. Tropical islands with no historic buildings, just sun and surf and palms and no culture of any interest. Not for me.
Obviously different people like different things, but I was mildly startled by the idea of the thread.

Yes dear, we have always had all that here as well, we call the Nancy Boys, Sissies and girly men! FA'FAGGOTS! They are ALL GAY MEN, not some mystical "third sex" you loons keep creating!
