Which Airline do you prefer?

Delta seems to be the only one still trying.

by Anonymousreply 33November 30, 2024 4:47 PM

Who is the freak who chose United??? Jesus Christ, SPIRIT before United. I’ve had urethra swabs less painful than a United flight.

by Anonymousreply 1November 29, 2024 3:10 PM

Eastern.

by Anonymousreply 2November 29, 2024 3:11 PM

r1 I can say the same about American. I prefer United but that is because of where I live and they have the most direct flights and I get lounge access for free. American is a garbage dumpster of an airline. I would say Delta but nowhere they fly out of here is direct.

by Anonymousreply 3November 29, 2024 3:16 PM

They're all in a race to the bottom. Unfortunately, it's a neck and neck race right now.

by Anonymousreply 4November 29, 2024 3:17 PM

R3, then just fucking say it, bitch. Go get laid.

by Anonymousreply 5November 29, 2024 3:29 PM

Alaska has some of the nicest people in US domestic airlines. Condé Nast Traveller ranked them 3rd, below Delta who flies way more places and has a good lounges and service. I would’ve ranked Alaska 2nd ahead of JetBlue, however.

Back in the day it was Air America

by Anonymousreply 7November 29, 2024 4:23 PM

Delta is the best. My only issue with Delta is the surly Delta staff in Atlanta; they're just mean, but the gay flight attendants on Delta make up for it; they are such whores.

by Anonymousreply 8November 29, 2024 4:34 PM

Southwest. We live about a mile from Love Field.. We save a ton not having to Uber or cab to DFW. I hate American. The seven levels of seating just pisses me off.

by Anonymousreply 9November 29, 2024 4:48 PM

I've flown ABD Airline for years.

by Anonymousreply 10November 29, 2024 4:51 PM

United for convenience (like R3 they fly the most places where I live) though I think Delta is actually nicer.

American IMHO (and I used to work for American) is very hit or miss - usually miss.

Southwest is fine, and I may pick them more often when they start assigning seats in 2025, but they are usually my third choice despite flying to basically the same places United does (for me).

by Anonymousreply 11November 29, 2024 4:55 PM

I've never flown on Southwest because people trash it so much.

by Anonymousreply 12November 29, 2024 6:08 PM

I've never minded Southwest.

I refuse to fly Frontier or Spirit, however.

Delta is my preference.

by Anonymousreply 13November 29, 2024 6:37 PM

I live near an American hub and have pretty good status with them as a result.

Took Delta yesterday with zero status. Surprised how much nicer Delta is.

by Anonymousreply 14November 29, 2024 6:49 PM

Southwest is great. Right now, no change fees and no baggage fees. Unlike fucking American where you see one price and then you have to ad $75 to check a bag. Checking in 24 hours in advance gets you seats closer to the front of the plane and if you're carrying on bags, you don't have to worry about fighting for overhead space. These days, we most often pay extra to get A seating.

by Anonymousreply 15November 29, 2024 6:50 PM

People think about hubs when doing repeat travel, no? If you have family or work in Chicago, Denver, Houston, SF, DC you might use United. They had 4 trainees on my last United flight shadowed by a full crew of flight attendants and everyone was nice to them and we clapped for them at the end for doing a good job! Yes, I know, bah humbug.

by Anonymousreply 16November 29, 2024 7:05 PM

I love Southwest and Alaska! Every time I've used American it's sucked.

by Anonymousreply 17November 29, 2024 9:39 PM

Delta is best, by far. American is 2nd. United is 3rd. Southwest is 4th.

by Anonymousreply 18November 29, 2024 9:40 PM

Unfortunately, I fly every week for work. It's Delta overall, followed by American. Southwest/United aren't far behind. The rest are in a big blob similar to each other.

by Anonymousreply 19November 29, 2024 9:54 PM

I don’t see a hell of a lot of difference.I wish they would give me a knockout pill on any flight over two hours.

by Anonymousreply 20November 30, 2024 12:59 AM

I’ve stuck with Delta. Never had any major issues

by Anonymousreply 21November 30, 2024 1:53 AM

r5 pretty sure I did...

by Anonymousreply 22November 30, 2024 2:00 AM

Uh huh.

by Anonymousreply 23November 30, 2024 2:40 AM

Those Pan Am charter flights to relive the experience don't start until 2025.

All this Delta talk made me think of the Delta terminal from JFK, the one that was a relic from the New York 1964 world fair. I think it’s gone now but a while back it was still there with cracks in the ceiling leaks big buckets, the works! I kind of loved it.

And this is a bit off-topic, but I have to ask it. And I know it’s going through a major overhaul along the lines of LaGuardia, but why is the existing layout of JFK so damn random? I think there’s eight terminals and it’s almost like they took eight playing cards, threw them down on the floor, scattered them about a bit and said “This is it!”

by Anonymousreply 25November 30, 2024 2:57 AM

The only airport I hate more than JFK is O'Hare.

by Anonymousreply 26November 30, 2024 2:59 AM

The Philadelphia airport is pretty awful too.

by Anonymousreply 27November 30, 2024 3:08 AM

r8, you've just reminded me of an incident when my stopover ATL-LAX had landed, the older gentleman next to me was trying to flag down someone to help get his cane from the overhead. They were too busy talking to each other, so he started to climb the chairs. I was facing the front side of him, so it would have been awkward trying to catch him while I was crouching.. Fortunately an off duty pilot 2 seats away jumped right in and helped him. Meanwhile, the 2 attendants were still gabbing. Assholes.

by Anonymousreply 28November 30, 2024 3:26 AM

I live in Atlanta. There is no way that I would pick another airline over Delta if Delta is an option.

by Anonymousreply 29November 30, 2024 3:37 AM

Bless your heart.

by Anonymousreply 30November 30, 2024 3:38 AM

The old JFK Delta terminal was horrendous. I wouldn’t fly Delta just to stay out of that cavern.

The new one is amazing.

by Anonymousreply 31November 30, 2024 4:22 PM

Someone mentioned this above: When is the JFK remodel going to be finished? LaGuardia is a completely different airport now; it's wonderful.

by Anonymousreply 32November 30, 2024 4:32 PM

Prior to Global Entry, customs at JFK was the closest thing any of us will experience to Ellis Island. People from every shithole sub Saharan, subcontinent, Wuhan flu country in the world carrying their bindles and livestock and god knows what else through the airport, stinking to high heaven and unable to communicate with customs agents in anything other than clicks and hand gestures. Avoid at all costs.
