James van der Beek Attention Whore Post
He needs more attention!
Also, please remember on the one hand that he is a godly man with a passel of crotch droppings....
.....but on the other hand, he's stripping down for cancer! Yes, per the Deadline article:
[quote] In December, Van Der Beek is set to appear on The Real Full Monty, a two-hour special also featuring Taye Diggs, Kansas City Chiefs defensive tackle Chris Jones and veteran Dancing with the Stars judge Bruno Tonioli as they strip down to raise awareness for prostate, testicular and colorectal cancer testing and research.

Why am I suddenly reading various comments in various places contending that religious people should not post half-naked photos of themselves, and that they're hypocrites if they do so? What the hell is going on with this new prudery, and why do so many people think there's something immoral or ungodly about such photos?

R1 I have no issues with it, but it seems at odds with their proclamations about godly behavior, that's all.

Hoping for the best for him. Handsome guy.

But can you explain WHY you think someone posting such photos is ungodly? Seems to me that attitude is rooted in shame about the naked body, which is a widespread but very unfortunate phenomenon (in some cultures more than others). I very much doubt that any of these photos depict the celebrities masturbating or having sex with others -- and, P.S., some people would say even photos like that aren't necessarily ungodly :-)

R6 I think you continue to miss my point. I have no shame nor am I judging. I believe sharing one's body of that can be very natural and beautiful.
I'm calling out what I see as hypocrisy when someone like JvdB (or whoever it might be) has a very scolding "Christian" attitude on one hand, but then gives themselves a pass to do something *they themselves* might scold or lecture someone else about.

R7, I do understand what you mean, but I'm sure it's true that not all aggressively religious, judgmental people think there's anything ungodly about baring their flesh. For example, James Van Der Beek or any of these people might be strongly against divorce or birth control or abortion or whatever but might also see nothing wrong in showing off their bodies. I hope that better explains my meaning.

James is selling memorabilia from Varsity Blues to fund his cancer treatment.
I think he's hinting for someone to start a GFM for him.

Is there a worn jockstrap being auctioned?

Is he having conventional medical treatment?
None of the articles about his cancer seem to mention him having chemo.
Is he just eating peach pits and hovering in electro boxes?

I think he's taking extra vitamins.

The Beek's family is the whitest family in the history of white. Not one bit of seasoning in that family.

I certainly don't wish him death, but I find him truly repulsive.
