I don’t think I’ve ever laughed so hard and so continuously as I did watching the first Airplane movie in the theater.

The theater was absolute pandemonium at multiple junctures during the showing.

What a moment in time. What an achievement to bring that much uproarious joy.

R14 Agreed. It was fun and campy but no real laugh out loud moments, “Airplane” and “Naked Gun” are hilarious.

David Zucker was a Democrat until 9/11, then became a very vocal Republican (but he remains an environmentalist). He said his brother (Jerry) is "appalled" by his conservative views, but they still love each other. Abrahams seemed to devote much of his time since the 90s advocating for the keto diet as an alternative healthcare treatment (it had helped his son who has epilepsy), nothing overtly political; Abrahams had leukemia for over 20 years before he died.

I watched 33 1/3 last night. Even the third installment was pretty funny. And impossible to make nowadays.
