It’s a great movie and Pamela and JLC both turn in Oscar-worthy performances. JLC has an amazing scene set to “Total Eclipse of the Heart.”

R1 When and where did you see it?
by Anonymous | reply 2 | November 26, 2024 11:55 PM |
I thought Jamie Lee Curtis was fabulous.

Who does JLC play in it?
by Anonymous | reply 4 | November 27, 2024 2:28 AM |
R4 Pam's best friend, a former showgirl.

R2, I attended an advanced screening.

I hope it gets a wide release. I'm curious to see it.

His seems the OPPOSITE of any kind of show girl.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | November 27, 2024 3:54 PM |
*JLC not his

R9 I think that's why she plays a *former* showgirl in the movie.
Someone long past her freshness date.

It looks magnificently depressing -- just my kind of movie.
Hope it gets out there soon.

R7 According to IMDB, it's getting a limited US release on December 13th.
Looks like they're pushing it for Oscar season. It would be great to see Pam get a nomination.
That would be like the scene at the Oscars ceremony in "In and Out," when Glenn Close reads the Best Actor nominees. "...and Steven Seagal for 'Snowball in Hell.'"

The movie itself has gotten mixed reviews, but most critics are praising Pamela Anderson's performance.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | November 27, 2024 4:14 PM |
It looks boring and JLC doesn’t look like an ex-showgirl.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | November 27, 2024 4:51 PM |
Sorry, but you’re wrong, R14.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | November 27, 2024 6:28 PM |
R14 Hang around Vegas for a while and you'll see a lot of ex-showgirls who are now cocktail waitresses at the casinos or waitresses at Denny's and iHop who look exactly like JLC in the movie.

I'm a Golden Globe nominee, bitches!
Next up...Oscar time!

JLC was not a traditional beauty but she had a superb body when she was younger (still looks great for her age) and could certainly dance.
I see no problem with her as a showgirl and more than I did her as a call girl in Trading Places.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | December 10, 2024 7:17 PM |
I think JLC could be a surprise Best Supporting Actress nominee.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | December 10, 2024 7:51 PM |
Agree, r18.
Her dance scene in True Lies was iconic. She was built like a mannequin.
