MAGA is feeling buyer's remorse today..

When the tariffs kick in with Canada the immediate effect will be on gasoline we get from Canadian pipelines.

People just didn't listen when we warned them about him bankrupting a casino. This will be bigger than the Great Depression if he keeps this up. I'm putting my money in an offshore account, what are you doing to safeguard your finances? We're all going to be suffering through this.

Fuck. I suppose I should make big purchases now? Fuck, trump

by Anonymousreply 2November 26, 2024 3:57 AM

Yeah, R2, buy a house. Fuck.

by Anonymousreply 3November 26, 2024 3:59 AM

Yes. If you need a car, computer or an appliance get it before he takes office. Take advantage of those after Christmas sales and if you put it on credit, pay it off asap. His deregulation and coming economic crisis will make credit cards charge even more.

by Anonymousreply 4November 26, 2024 4:01 AM

fuck, well, that is what I'm going to do then. fuck

by Anonymousreply 5November 26, 2024 4:04 AM

This is not happening, op.

Magats are parasitic.

They feel no remorse and have no shame.

Maga smeared shit and waved the confederate flag in the nation's when President Biden won.

Maga is a burn it all down to own the libs movement.

If they lose their jobs or more likely if they lose their social security disability retard benefits, it will be SlEEpy jOe Biden's fault.

by Anonymousreply 6November 26, 2024 4:05 AM

fuck, R5, buy 2. fuck

I think we’re getting ahead of our skis. Still no evidence of this so-called buyer’s remorse.

by Anonymousreply 9November 26, 2024 4:06 AM

[quote] If they lose their jobs or more likely if they lose their social security disability retard benefits, it will be SlEEpy jOe Biden's fault.

Except, R6, sleepy Joe won't feel it--they will.

[quote] Still no evidence of this so-called buyer’s remorse.

Because he hasn't taken office yet, R9.

by Anonymousreply 10November 26, 2024 4:08 AM

I need a love seat, a computer, possibly a tablet. I'm not really ready to buy all three right now.

fuck trump

by Anonymousreply 11November 26, 2024 4:13 AM

That scores of people are finally paying attention gives me schaudenfreude..along with red state construction companies complaining about their immigration work force getting gutted and retailers realizing that they will all be facing bankruptcy when those tariffs kick in. Ususally you won't feel the pain of the GOP's bad economic policies until you get towards the end of their presidency (remember Bush Jr?) but the negative effects will be felt immediately. If things go as he plans, every little thing will become more exoensive.

by Anonymousreply 12November 26, 2024 4:14 AM

what idiocy!

by Anonymousreply 13November 26, 2024 4:17 AM

I thought Republicans are good for business so why does the economy tank when they are in charge

by Anonymousreply 14November 26, 2024 4:18 AM

No. This is a proverbial cutting your nose off to spite your face. No remorse. No respect. No rational thought.

by Anonymousreply 15November 26, 2024 4:19 AM

R14 They CONSERVE all of the profits by way of favorable legislation and tax cuts.

by Anonymousreply 16November 26, 2024 4:23 AM

They say lassaiz-faire opens up opportunities but jobs and income disappear when they get in office

by Anonymousreply 17November 26, 2024 4:27 AM

Thx R6-MAGA will blame any negative happenings under dump on previous administration.

by Anonymousreply 18November 26, 2024 4:30 AM

Well, Texas construction is now experiencing some buyers remorse...and I'm laughing and laughing and laughing.

Wait, you mean a guy who made a point of talking about borders and border patrols and kicking out illegal immigrants is now planning to deport said illegal immigrants? Wait, you mean our industry which by some estimates is upwards of 60% illegal labor might be impacted?

smh

by Anonymousreply 19November 26, 2024 4:33 AM

So what, R18? They'll feel the deprivations in the coming administration. Who cares who they blame? They'll still be the ones who bare fucked.

by Anonymousreply 20November 26, 2024 4:34 AM

*They'll still be the ones who will be fucked.

by Anonymousreply 21November 26, 2024 4:35 AM

i'm a poor eldergay, and will be buying a laptop.

I've put it off for a few months now but this will be my Christmas gift to myself.

My space bar doesn't work anymore and it's slow as fuck. I bought it in 2017 so it's had a good run.

by Anonymousreply 22November 26, 2024 4:42 AM

It does matter who they blame.

If they believe it's some bizarre deep state, liberal conspiracy to undermine cheeto, it will make it much easier to enact even more rights stripping policies and laws that make our lives worse.

If their orange messiah is being unfairly persecuted and George Soros and HRC are destroying the economy to punish him, they'll only go further into the crazy.

We've long passed the point where rational thought and reason are controlling people's ideas and actions. It'll be the fault of immigrants, the gays, non-xtians and those people will be targeted by mobs of angry magats when the glory of all cheeto's promises don't come to pass. When America is worse than it's been in the past century, we'll slip into a true authoritarian state as the masses will accept anything for the promise to end the pain and misery.

by Anonymousreply 23November 26, 2024 4:46 AM

^^^^ The goal would be to suspend or end the Constitution. The argument would be that it's too restrictive and doesn't allow them to do what they need to do to "fix" things.

by Anonymousreply 24November 26, 2024 4:48 AM

by Anonymousreply 26November 26, 2024 4:51 AM

The doomsday scenario is a downward spiral that leads nowhere but down. II f you want to believe we're stepping into 1984, go right ahead. I don't have the headspace for that shit.

by Anonymousreply 27November 26, 2024 4:53 AM

Putin believes the dissolution of the US -like that of the Soviet Union - is nigh. I agree.

by Anonymousreply 28November 26, 2024 4:55 AM

Putin should be worried about his own failing war. Russia's economy is garbage.

by Anonymousreply 29November 26, 2024 4:57 AM

Only crypto can save us!

by Anonymousreply 30November 26, 2024 4:59 AM

Maga will blame it all on Biden and the ignorant will believe it...

by Anonymousreply 31November 26, 2024 5:00 AM

Who cares who they blame, R31? They'll be fucked.

by Anonymousreply 32November 26, 2024 5:05 AM

I didn’t think the leopard would tariff my face.

by Anonymousreply 33November 26, 2024 5:10 AM

Can’t link to it but WAPO reports:

[quote] The poll shows that Americans have no higher priority than lowering the costs of goods and services in the aftermath of the recent high inflation numbers. Fully 79 percent of Americans say this should be a “high priority,” far ahead of any other items including cutting taxes. And Americans think new tariffs — basically a tax on imports under which costs are generally passed on to consumers — would lead to higher prices, 59 percent to 18 percent.

[quote]And yet! Americans also say they favor new tariffs, 52-48.

by Anonymousreply 34November 26, 2024 5:13 AM

China is flexing on us. Do they really believe the ruble is worth more than the US dollar. Nice flex.

by Anonymousreply 35November 26, 2024 5:17 AM

Laptops are for grannies.

by Anonymousreply 36November 26, 2024 5:35 AM

Online dildos prices will undoubtedly skyrocket-I simply must get my order in today…

by Anonymousreply 37November 26, 2024 5:42 AM

Well, then granny I must be. I'd much rather look at things on a full-sized screen than a small phone screen.

by Anonymousreply 38November 26, 2024 5:47 AM

I would definitely buy now, but I'm not convinced these tariffs will actually happen. They are SO stupid that I can't help thinking some of the people around him (like the gay Treasury Secretary designate, who seems to have some brains) may be able to talk him down - not entirely, but a little bit.

by Anonymousreply 39November 26, 2024 6:04 AM

^I hope you're right..as much as I want to see MAGA defecating on themselves again, I really don't want to pay a dollar extra for a gallon of gas.

by Anonymousreply 40November 26, 2024 6:28 AM

Or for anything.

by Anonymousreply 41November 26, 2024 1:01 PM

Don't you remember from the last administration, about the adults holding the guardrails, r39?

by Anonymousreply 42November 26, 2024 1:05 PM

Trump has unilateral authority to impose tariffs. Have you ever known him to admit he’s wrong about anything?

by Anonymousreply 43November 26, 2024 2:40 PM

My Trumper SIL made a comment the other day about construction materials being cheaper when lord and savior Trump gets in.

by Anonymousreply 44November 26, 2024 2:44 PM

because of a magic wand? I'm no numbers guy but I did take econ101 in college and GOD DAMN these assholes sound like they would have failed the course

by Anonymousreply 45November 26, 2024 2:45 PM

Failed the course? Most of them didn’t go to college.

by Anonymousreply 46November 26, 2024 2:47 PM

Trump is trying to fill the coffers with middle class money because he wants to extend tax cuts for the wealthy.

EVERYTHING the Trump team has talked about--from tariffs and cutting the federal work force--is for that goal.

by Anonymousreply 47November 26, 2024 2:48 PM

R26 hand gun or rifle or shotgun or all 3? Let us know what you purchase and how it shoots.

by Anonymousreply 48November 26, 2024 3:01 PM

But they are not feeling buyer’s remorse because they believe him when he says tariffs are paid by foreign countries. It doesn’t help that our lazy media says he is imposing tariffs “on Mexico” or “on China.” They help confuse the public.

by Anonymousreply 49November 26, 2024 3:07 PM

The hardcore MAGAts will find a way to blame high prices on Democrats.

by Anonymousreply 50November 26, 2024 3:09 PM

Buyers remorse today? Do a search , lots will pop up right away from yesterday, and see what the survey people are saying about the approval of trumps transition so far.

DL once again out of touch with america.

In time we may be right and things will crash and burn then we can put on our slippers and do the happy dance.

by Anonymousreply 51November 26, 2024 3:12 PM

It’s natural to look for silver linings after a disappointing loss. It easily turns into desperation - as it did for Democrats in 2016 (Jill Stein recounts, unfaithful electors) and deplorables in 2020 (dialing for votes, hanging Mike Pence, smearing shit on the Capitol walls).

Take anyone telling you how this plays out with a grain of salt - they’re either spreading despair or actively peddling it for clicks and views. As Jamelle Bouie says, steer clear of the Resistance Grifters.

by Anonymousreply 52November 26, 2024 3:23 PM

He honestly is the only voice I have been listening to during this fracas. Still, it is hard to justify the atrocities the turmp administration wants to wreak

by Anonymousreply 53November 26, 2024 3:59 PM

The big construction near me is bringing in the Amish now. The handsome mens are being replaced with bowl cuts, ho-made jeans, and bo.

by Anonymousreply 54November 26, 2024 4:07 PM

I wouldn't worry to much about this nonsense. We need to be buying American good anyway. More business opportunities to be developed. We have to get away from buying all this crap from other countries. If you're going to worry about someone, worry about the Mexicans and Canadians whose economies are getting ready to suffer. We're fine, doll.

by Anonymousreply 55November 26, 2024 4:29 PM

Learned nothing from history?

We’ve tried tariffs before. They led to global depression.

by Anonymousreply 56November 26, 2024 4:38 PM

R55 is Doris Day.

by Anonymousreply 57November 26, 2024 4:41 PM

[quote]The manufacturing of the motorcycle parts used by Harley-Davidson occurs in several factories located across the world. There are parts manufacturers in Mexico, Germany, Italy, Taiwan, and Japan. Some of the parts are still made in the U.S. and used with enough frequency to earn the "Made in America" label on any Harley purchased in America. However, with so many different sources, parts, and motorcycle models, it's nearly impossible to pinpoint the exact origins of every motorcycle that rolls off the line.

Even the bikers who are so proud to ride their "American-made" motorcycles are in for a shock.

by Anonymousreply 58November 26, 2024 4:56 PM

R55, you’re an idiot. We don’t, and haven’t had for decades, the infrastructure to make these things - also, labor is justifiably ten times the price of what it is a China and Bangladesh. You’re an idiot

by Anonymousreply 59November 26, 2024 4:56 PM

MAGAs believe exactly what Trump, Murdoch and Musk tell them to believe. That’s what makes them MAGAs.

by Anonymousreply 60November 26, 2024 5:03 PM

by Anonymousreply 63November 26, 2024 5:09 PM

All a mahy Trump hats, clothes, and Bibles are made here in the good ole USA!

by Anonymousreply 64November 26, 2024 5:11 PM

by Anonymousreply 65November 26, 2024 5:19 PM

[quote]The poll shows that Americans have no higher priority than lowering the costs of goods and services in the aftermath of the recent high inflation numbers. And yet! Americans also say they favor new tariffs, 52-48.

A substantial portion of Americans are morons.

by Anonymousreply 66November 26, 2024 5:23 PM

They are not very bright and have been poorly educated, but they have been cynically lied to and manipulated for profit and political power.

by Anonymousreply 67November 26, 2024 5:48 PM

[quote]America doesn't make anything anymore

Nor does it have the initiative to do so anymore, and certainly, once deportation starts, there'll be no one with any initiative left. Enjoy your front facing McDonald's gigs kiddies!

by Anonymousreply 68November 26, 2024 5:56 PM

[quote]We need to be buying American good anyway.

We don't HAVE the industrial infrastructure needed to replace those imported goods, you stupid fuck. We haven't for decades. How much time and money do you think it would take to restore that?

by Anonymousreply 69November 26, 2024 5:57 PM

And that's why things at WalMart are so cheap.

by Anonymousreply 70November 26, 2024 6:06 PM

Part of the issue is that so many Americans alive today have never gone thru really hard times. We have lived in a world where wars have never impacted us, at least here at home. We live in a world of relative wealth and plenty. And no one on DL is starving. Our suffering does not match up to the suffering in history.

I have relatives that fought in world wars, many died young, 3 went into the coal mines to work full time before they turned 14. Lots of hard times in the past. And more will come in the future.

The world is not always going to be pointing Up.

When the tough times come, and in time they will, the tough and the smart and the prepared will do better. Those surrounded by good support systems will do better.

The weak the soft the unprepared will fall behind.

by Anonymousreply 71November 26, 2024 6:23 PM

Why should we make things in America where they will cost much more? So a few people continue to be employed in jobs that are uneconomic while everyone else pays twice as much for everything? That’s going to be real popular.

by Anonymousreply 72November 26, 2024 7:01 PM

Indeed. And dollar tree. Those places are going to go out of business
