A Dentist Tesla Cybertruck Owner Says Loneliness Drove Him to Buy a Truck That Turns Heads: “They Can’t Ignore You Now”

A Tesla Cybertruck owner says, “You work hard, but your kids don’t want to hang out with you, and your friends are too busy to visit,” get a Cybertruck, and the world can’t ignore you. Surprisingly, close to 50 Cybertruck owners echo this sentiment.

Wow. That's got to be one of the ugliest cars on the planet. It brings to mind Homer's car.

You really fucked up as a dentist if you aren’t dating one of the harem of assistants they seemingly all have.

by Anonymousreply 3November 25, 2024 3:18 AM

sad.

by Anonymousreply 4November 25, 2024 3:22 AM

So the Cybertruck is the physical manifestation of an angry, incel Trumpster.

by Anonymousreply 5November 25, 2024 3:27 AM

Hetero men will literally buy a pile of trash to show off instead of going to therapy.

by Anonymousreply 6November 25, 2024 3:39 AM

Exactly R5. But who's going to buy these "trucks"? MAGA wouldn't be seen dead in an electric vehicle and Musk has destroyed his traditional Telsa customer base with X and his extreme politics.

Apparently the Telsa Cybertruck costs hundreds of thousands of dollars.

by Anonymousreply 7November 25, 2024 3:40 AM

That’s really sad. And kind of pathetic. I guess that’s what I’ll think about when I see one driving around now.

by Anonymousreply 8November 25, 2024 3:40 AM

[quote]You need a man cave, a Batmobile, and a powerhouse, and it would be nice to have something that makes people snap their necks and glare. You want an overpowered, overpriced, over-the-top giant fridge on wheels.

That quote is from OP's linked article. I was spot on about it being Homer's car.

by Anonymousreply 9November 25, 2024 3:41 AM

R8 - most of the Tesla truck owners look ashamed or hate the attention in my area. To be fair - some of these people put a deposit down and got on the wait-list years ago before Musk turned and before anyone knew anything about the product.

by Anonymousreply 10November 25, 2024 3:44 AM

They look like stainless steel fridges made into Power Wheels to me.

by Anonymousreply 11November 25, 2024 3:51 AM

That article is based on a Facebook post. How do I get paid to repost garbage from social media?

by Anonymousreply 12November 25, 2024 3:57 AM

R11 - CHEAP stainless steel fridges.

Dentists make a lot of money and are into cars. Both my dentist and my periodontist have expensive cars.

by Anonymousreply 14November 25, 2024 4:03 AM

What an embarrassment.

by Anonymousreply 15November 25, 2024 4:05 AM

This is the alpha male stud dentist who made this quote.

And of course he's from Orange County.

I imagine he's never had much attention paid to him his entire life.

The Cybertruck now replaces the Corvette as the 'short-dicked man' vehicle of choice.

by Anonymousreply 17November 25, 2024 4:21 AM

Buying a fancy car to get people to talk to you for two seconds is what Andrew Tate recommends in his Incel training program.

Sad to see that someone with an advanced degree would have a 15 year old's understanding of how to appeal to other people. Next he's going to get a six pack and fly into a rage when he's still lonely.

by Anonymousreply 18November 25, 2024 4:31 AM

[quote] Sad to see that someone with an advanced degree would have a 15 year old's understanding of how to appeal to other people. Next he's going to get a six pack and fly into a rage when he's still lonely.

I would never buy a Tesla. I've loathed Musk for years.

In fairness, almost everyone buys a car with the hope of impressing people. A car is meant to be a representation of jts owner. If you have the money, you will spend it on making a statement with a car.

by Anonymousreply 19November 25, 2024 4:39 AM

"My life sucks, but perhaps the right purchase will make things better."

by Anonymousreply 20November 25, 2024 4:43 AM

If only Elon had been born with a normal sized dick, maybe he wouldn’t be fucking up our world

by Anonymousreply 21November 25, 2024 4:44 AM

Oddly enough, R19, I bought my car because I needed reliable transportation. I couldn't have cared less about what anyone thought about it. You sound as though you've read one too many "What your car tells other people about you" articles.

by Anonymousreply 22November 25, 2024 4:47 AM

What about his front hump R21?

by Anonymousreply 23November 25, 2024 4:47 AM

I made a dream auto purchase for me and I really don't want anyone to come up to me when I'm getting in or out. It's for the drive and thrill..for me. Fuck everyone else

by Anonymousreply 24November 25, 2024 4:50 AM

Same R22. Everyone most certainly does not buy a car to impress others

by Anonymousreply 25November 25, 2024 4:51 AM

Whenever I see one of those all I can think of is where’s the can opener.

by Anonymousreply 26November 25, 2024 4:55 AM

I’ve seen a couple of those trucks and they’re oddly fun and cool. They look like they come from the future or are going to be used in a movie.

But I’m a lifelong science fiction fan, so there’s that. And I do know now that Musk really is the enemy. Years ago, I bought some Tesla shares so I could go to the annual meeting in Mountain View and I flew to Florida from Oregon to see the launch of the Falcon Heavy. I was a fan. No one else I knew was. They were right and I’m never going to fully trust my judgment about people again.

by Anonymousreply 27November 25, 2024 5:02 AM

by Anonymousreply 30November 25, 2024 5:14 AM

How much does one cost?

by Anonymousreply 31November 25, 2024 6:23 AM

What did you buy, r24?

I half-agree with you, r19. When I buy a car it's definitely a reflection of my personal taste and some part of me wants others to approve of that taste. That's not the same as buying a car purely to start conversations which is what that poor sadsack did.

by Anonymousreply 32November 25, 2024 8:59 AM

You know those magnetic signs people put on thir truck doors advertising their businesses? Well, bad idea for cyber trucks. Big rust and discoloration problems.

Mostly because it actually was designed on the back of a napkin by aging frat boys

by Anonymousreply 34November 25, 2024 9:35 AM

All cybertrucks get the finger from me as I pass their ugly asses

by Anonymousreply 35November 25, 2024 9:36 AM

I saw one in Target's parking lot the other day. It looked ridiculous.

by Anonymousreply 36November 25, 2024 11:17 AM

There’s a few in my town here in northern NJ. On the neighborhood Facebook groups with all the good gossip, these vehicles are mocked and derided. The drivers are caricatured as weak insecure needy trend-chasing males with $$ to burn.

Sometimes “look at me!” is not the big win the person thinks it is.

by Anonymousreply 37November 25, 2024 11:48 AM

Those trucks look like a plot device from an 1980's John Cusack movie where he and a ragtag group of losers signed up to compete in his small town's annual demolition derby, where the winners are always the same rich bullies that Cusack's team manage to beat by teaching themselves to safely weld, do mechanical work, and drive the demolition vehicle --scrounged from spare parts from Cusack's dead alcoholic dad's junkyard-- all over the course of a weekend.

by Anonymousreply 38November 25, 2024 12:18 PM

[quote]Sometimes “look at me!” is not the big win the person thinks it is.

So true. In my experience it almost never is R37. It usually has a negative effect unless it's done very tastefully and in an understated manner so that you're not quite sure... but you think so. Unless it's a showing off a *massive cock - "look at me" always ends up a disaster. Like this situation. This poor guy is very unattractive and clearly unlikable - absolutely insufferable. But instead of working to improve himself (personality, appearance, outlook), he does something pathetic like this. It's just so pathetic. Embarrassing. He must be hung like a gnat. I would feel embarrassed if I ever saw people like this in public getting in/out of one of these Cybertrucks.

(*and whatever it is that straight people like).

by Anonymousreply 39November 25, 2024 12:26 PM

That sounds good R38? Which Cusak film was it? I looked but I can't see anything in his filmography like that.

by Anonymousreply 40November 25, 2024 12:30 PM

Nowadays he looks more like the alcoholic dad who owns the junkyard than the leader of a ragtag group of losers who serve rich small-town bullies there just desserts, R40.

Feel free to write the screenplay, though. Maybe Leon will donate one of his shitboxes for the film.

The really sad part of this is that we, the taxpayers of the United States, subsidized this ridiculous purchase by this emotionally stunted man-child.

When will the US finally cut off Elmo from sucking at the government teat?

Elmo is the biggest welfare queen in the world.

by Anonymousreply 44November 25, 2024 2:26 PM

Attention whore.

by Anonymousreply 45November 25, 2024 3:55 PM

I think Cybertrucks look interesting, but I can understand why people would hate the design. I see them often, and they always look weird when they're around other cars.

by Anonymousreply 46November 25, 2024 4:15 PM

I thought Hummers were obnoxious but this one beats all.

by Anonymousreply 47November 25, 2024 4:16 PM

He'll still be lonely

by Anonymousreply 48November 25, 2024 5:57 PM

What a loser!

That hideous rolling dumpster isn’t a truck.

Trucks are made to haul shit. Sometimes literally, like when you’re getting horse shit for your garden.

My truck is currently full of firewood. Once I unload that, I’ll load it with furniture. Then scrap metal, then firewood again.

That POS couldn’t haul anything.

by Anonymousreply 49November 25, 2024 6:06 PM

There was one parked in the neighborhood I was staying in Provincetown last summer.

Everyone was laughing about it and mocking it and the driver, whoever he was (and he assuredly was a he).

by Anonymousreply 50November 25, 2024 6:09 PM

There are a lot of Cyber trucks where I live and I still haven’t adjusted to their ugliness. The best looking ones I’ve seen are painted matte black, because they look like something out of a sci-fi film. Any other color on a Cyber truck (especially refrigerator silver) looks ridiculous.

by Anonymousreply 51November 25, 2024 6:16 PM

$100K for a cheap looking refrigerator. And I have no interest in further enriching Elmo.

by Anonymousreply 52November 25, 2024 6:19 PM

Whatever.

I still remember the GM concept vehicles from the 1980s, of which the Tesla is a bad knock-off.

Here's the gorgeous Pontiac Pursuit. I really wish GM would bring back the Pontiac arm.

We bought a Tesla Model S about a year and a half ago and really dislike it. Lots of problems we weren’t expecting.

I saw one in my neighborhood recently and when the guy got out of it I commmented that we regretted our purchase so much I could only imagine how he felt.

He didn’t respond well.

by Anonymousreply 54November 25, 2024 6:23 PM

Jesus, the hair dye on Cusack at r40.

R41 - He *is* the alcoholic who owns the junkyard now. He had a reputation as a morose alcoholic who drank by himself in Bucktown in Chicago in the late 90s early aughts.

by Anonymousreply 55November 25, 2024 8:42 PM

Those are super cool, R53.

I drive a beater Toyota and refuse to get a nice car just so shallow people will be “impressed.” If someone wants to drive a cyber truck bc they think it is cool, that is fine by me. But to get a car just because of what other people think is so lame

by Anonymousreply 56November 25, 2024 10:15 PM

R54 - yep, a few years ago, it seemed like most new Tesla cars were immediately returning to the shop within a few weeks.

I remember taking a few Uber Teslas and all of them were bitching about it. This was before the truck.

I hope the whole company goes under - along with Twitter.

by Anonymousreply 57November 25, 2024 10:27 PM

Trust me, dentists are the most insecure medical professionals in the world.

I never knew this until I dated one, but they’re constantly angry and envious of actual MDs.

I never knew there was that much of a difference.

But there is.

Very angry, bitter professionals.

by Anonymousreply 58November 25, 2024 10:30 PM

Even though Elmo didn't get his $55 billion payout from Tesla, he'll probably get at least half as much. I think that decision should come by the end of the year. He could probably plunk down that cash and buy MSNBC.

by Anonymousreply 59November 25, 2024 10:32 PM

Anybody who buys a car to escape loneliness or become more popular is going about life the wrong way. Joining a club in your community where like minded people can gather is much better then driving around in an ugly but expensive car.

by Anonymousreply 60November 25, 2024 11:00 PM

I'm trying to think of a purchase you could make that would make you seem an even bigger cunt than if you bought a Cybertruck. But I can't think of one right now.

by Anonymousreply 65November 26, 2024 1:34 AM

by Anonymousreply 66November 26, 2024 1:43 AM

My Nissan Rogue costed $60k less than the Cybertruck, AND has power liftgate (that goes but up and down with the push of a button) or wave of a foot.

The cybertruck only has push button up, not down. Lame.

by Anonymousreply 67November 26, 2024 1:48 AM

I’ve seen a few in person. They are shockingly ugly

by Anonymousreply 68November 26, 2024 4:39 AM

4 college students home for Thanksgiving in Piedmont California (bay area) crashed early Wednesday morning. 3 died when the Cybertruck was engulfed in flames and 1 was pulled to safety by a local resident.

The Elon fanbois say: "this happens every day in different kinds of cars!". I say: "it's not every day 3 people die in a crash involving just one vehicle. And I certainly do not expect my car to instantly go up in flames on impact with a 3 foot garden wall"

Why am I interested in the Piedmont story? The tree has some burn marks but the wall came out pretty unscathed. A few videos of the scene. Smokin' hot bro leaves flowers. The slides/no show socks combo can be worked on. Poor Sandy! The homeowners might not love this happened either!
