All of the most beautiful & in-shape women I know don’t eat & never have.

I work in an upper class gym in a very middle class city. It is the land of trophy wives and they are gorgeous. These are life-long gym bunnies who are now in their 40’s, 50’s, and 60’s. These women don’t have an OUNCE of belly fat. No shit, some of these women have abs at 60 years old. They also have gorgeous muscle tone, they’re perfectly sculpted head to toe.

Every single one of them has practiced the most disordered eating for decades.

First of all - everything they eat is both nonfat & low carb. They eat low carb tortillas. Usually put a Splenda in the nonfat iced coffee. But it’s mostly just that they eat lean meats all the time. Chicken breast & tuna & raw veggies. When they make dinner for their family they’ll make their own meal of meat & salad.

Second - they don’t drink. None of them drink at all. A lot of them actually say they had issues with alcohol and had to completely quit to save their marriage. Usually their husbands still drink.

Third - they compulsively exercise. They come in for a morning workout and it’s usually yoga sculpt or cardio. Then they come back in the afternoon for weights.

Fourth - this doesn’t apply to all of them, but some of them take a lot of sleeping meds every night to get some sleep.

Fifth - they give the best advice. “If I feel hungry for a snack I just go for a walk. If that doesn’t help, half a beef jerky stick will do the trick.”

by Anonymousreply 159December 8, 2024 8:46 AM

Bitch, why would we fucking care? Read the room!

by Anonymousreply 1November 24, 2024 8:44 PM

Yes thinnest adults over 30 I know don't finish meals or are vegetarian. They like food but can get distracted from meals easily.

by Anonymousreply 2November 24, 2024 8:45 PM

Apostrophes.

by Anonymousreply 3November 24, 2024 8:46 PM

Finally! A post that both makes sense and speaks truth and good advice!

by Anonymousreply 4November 24, 2024 8:46 PM

40s, 50s and 60s may once been the trophy wives but they aren’t anymore.

by Anonymousreply 5November 24, 2024 8:47 PM

[quote] They like food but can get distracted from meals easily.

That's called anorexia.

by Anonymousreply 6November 24, 2024 8:47 PM

They sound ghoulish.

by Anonymousreply 7November 24, 2024 8:49 PM

All that obsessive anti-pleasure renunciation of food, and you know half of their lecherous rich husbands cheat on them anyway.

by Anonymousreply 8November 24, 2024 8:49 PM

I should’ve added this as a 6th point. ALL of these women are on HRT. The clinic is walking distance from the gym. They get biweekly estrogen & testosterone injections to keep up their energy levels and muscle tone. But this specific age group is going through peri/menopause as well.

There are plenty of people at my gym on Ozempic as well, but they are a different subset of people. We have an instructor who’s lost 160lbs on Ozempic and is very open about her experience with it.

by Anonymousreply 9November 24, 2024 8:51 PM

Why did you have such a fat instructor at your gym in the first place, OP?

by Anonymousreply 10November 24, 2024 8:54 PM

It’s money.

In fact, it’s mostly just money. No one has the leisure to workout this much. These women have nannies, maids, and probably don’t actually cook. It’s easy to focus all your energy on your appearance when you’re not subject to the overwhelming demands of normal life.

And also, what a depressing life.

by Anonymousreply 11November 24, 2024 8:56 PM

r2 That's interesting. All the vegetarians I know are overweight. They consume way too many carbs IMO.

by Anonymousreply 12November 24, 2024 8:57 PM

I have a friend Carolyn - I have known her since her twenties and she is now in her sixties. She has always been THIN. She is in really self disciplined she has done musical theatre all of her life but refuses to age up and out. As lovely as she is - and even even though she can still wear her Brigadoon gowns or Eliza dresses - her face, neck , hands and voice give her away. She doesn’t realize that she is making herself look older than younger.

by Anonymousreply 13November 24, 2024 9:06 PM

This is my mom. She eats salad with chopsticks so she’ll “eat more mindfully.” It’s like lady, you’re 71, the only person noticing your thigh gap is your gerontologist.

by Anonymousreply 14November 24, 2024 9:07 PM

R14 The harsh truth is eating disorders aren’t really about beauty standards and that’s why most relapse after treatment.

Honestly all neurotic behavior is related to simply feeling like you can’t cope with the world around you. You would rather live in a delusion than face the reality of life.

by Anonymousreply 15November 24, 2024 9:09 PM

It’s their job to look good.

by Anonymousreply 16November 24, 2024 9:11 PM

[quote] The harsh truth is eating disorders aren’t really about beauty standards

Yes, they are.

by Anonymousreply 17November 24, 2024 9:13 PM

Remembering when Guy Ritchie fell thoroughly out of lust with Madonna and complained that “it was like sleeping with a piece of lean gristle.”

by Anonymousreply 18November 24, 2024 9:14 PM

R17 I've been through ED treatment and all the therapy was focused on beauty standards and "diet culture" (if that even exists anymore for people under 45). But these are not people who care deeply about looking like A-listers or attracting men, these are people who have no idea how to live with themselves.

by Anonymousreply 19November 24, 2024 9:15 PM

Skinny women look like complete hags as they get older. Slightly chubby (but not obese) women age better. And people with a fitness obsession and disordered eating are a total bummer to be around. It’s obvious to everyone around them that they hate themselves.

by Anonymousreply 20November 24, 2024 9:17 PM

I used to go to a gym like this. You can sense the fear in the 30 year old trophy wives who are on the verge of being replaced. Then when it happens they become real estate agents and want to look good so they stay at the gym.

The blow dry bar in town has a special for women to come in for a deep conditioning treatment before their workout and then go back for a shampoo and a blowout. It takes a lot of money and time for women to look good.

by Anonymousreply 21November 24, 2024 9:26 PM

If you have your 30 year old body at 50, your face is going to look AWFUL. It pays to gain a few as you get older.

by Anonymousreply 22November 24, 2024 9:30 PM

My cousin is a gorgeous woman in her 50s, married to a wealthy, but totally cool and successful man.

She is fit, takes advantage of the latest ways to stay beautiful, but also runs five miles a day, works out, and eats just about anything she wants.

She was gorgeous as a teen. It's hard to cope with that loss as you age and decay. For now she's holding her own.

by Anonymousreply 23November 24, 2024 9:34 PM

OP - yes, many do a lot of calorie restrictions BUT there's also a truth that if you don't allow yourself to get fat, it's MUCH easier to maintain.

You don't know what other procedures and treatments they're getting done - there are a lot of other things that help with appearance and maintaining your weight.

And just because they say they don't drink - don't think that they are 100% sober. There are a lot of other drugs out there - hell, even microdosing shrooms is a good time.

by Anonymousreply 24November 24, 2024 9:38 PM

A lifelong low fat diet increases the chances that you will develop Alzheimer’s. These women may not be eating but eventually their brains are going to eat themselves.

by Anonymousreply 25November 24, 2024 9:40 PM

They seem stuck in a perpetual bachelorette mindset, constantly striving to stay fit and body-conscious, as if preparing for some imaginary competition, whether to find a partner or reclaim the title of homecoming queen. It’s a superficial game of one-upmanship, reminiscent of men comparing cars or gadgets, but here, the currency is their own bodies.

by Anonymousreply 26November 24, 2024 9:43 PM

[quote] They seem stuck in a perpetual bachelorette mindset, constantly striving to stay fit and body-conscious, as if preparing for some imaginary competition

Women have been taught to compete since a young age to be the prettiest, hottest, most charming, most desirable in the room/bar/club/beach…

by Anonymousreply 27November 24, 2024 9:50 PM

R27 - you think men aren't stuck in a similar rigid mindset? And also - no one is forced to play that game.

Being an optimal weight is easier - you're healthier, you look better in clothes, and again, as long as you maintain and course correct if you get a little overweight, it's not some Herculean feat everyone thinks it is.

Look at French women.

by Anonymousreply 28November 24, 2024 9:56 PM

It's what the weight loss shots are doing for people. You eat a tiny bit, eat healthy and the weight drops off. if you have more than one or 2 drinks you puke same if you over eat. Who knew anorexia was the right thing! But really working out that much would make me so hungry. Even men should be on testosterone therapy age they age too. But definitely women need it or their lives are miserable

by Anonymousreply 29November 24, 2024 9:57 PM

Sounds dreadful. I recall that from the Truman “swans” series that he lampooned that they always lunched yet never ate. And we’re all Miserable

by Anonymousreply 30November 24, 2024 10:10 PM

R26 Or reminiscent of...gay men? There's a reason why only the subset of humans that is attracted to men is image-obsessed. You don't see lesbians or straight men killing themselves like this unless they have a professional obligation to do so.

by Anonymousreply 31November 24, 2024 10:17 PM

They probably think everyone is jealous of them and they're probably jealous of everyone in their circle. A very highly educated art critic once disclosed to me that she felt a sense of pride realizing she was the thinnest woman in the room.

by Anonymousreply 32November 24, 2024 10:19 PM

R31 - very true. It's always funny to me when I go to gay parties and see this spread of food and outside of a few nibbles, almost all of it is left over.

I've never been to a bear party - so I doubt that's the case there.

by Anonymousreply 33November 24, 2024 10:24 PM

I've found women who starve themselves to be unpleasant to be around.

Controlling and short tempered.

They are definitely not fun to go out to dinner with in a large group.

by Anonymousreply 34November 24, 2024 10:27 PM

[quote]I've found women who starve themselves to be unpleasant to be around.

No wonder, they're fucking hungry!

by Anonymousreply 35November 24, 2024 10:35 PM

Eating at your daily calorie requirement is a pain but it isn’t that bad. Unless you are short?

by Anonymousreply 36November 24, 2024 10:38 PM

I had a co-worker who ate very little to stay absurdly thin. She'd ask me to lunch but it's not fun to have lunch with a person who orders water with water on the side.

She was brittle, needy, and easily offended. Put her on ignore and avoid and moved on.

by Anonymousreply 37November 24, 2024 11:17 PM

People who starve themselves are perpetually angry and horrible to be around. To them, it's a life long obsession that never goes away. And they gladly pay this price to look good. I find this very sad.

by Anonymousreply 38November 24, 2024 11:58 PM

I am entrenched in rich Upper East Side circles due to life circumstance, and am often at eating events with these families. It is shocking how many of the women don’t eat. At most, they pick at a salad, often just eating the lean protein off the top. Never anything fatty. Never ever dessert, even at a birthday party. Some of them have even passed the habits down to their children, little girls who will go to a pizza place and order salad. I wouldn’t believe it were as real and omnipresent as it is if I didnt live it.

by Anonymousreply 39November 25, 2024 12:09 AM

Maybe they just don’t like eating like truck drivers in public?

by Anonymousreply 40November 25, 2024 12:19 AM

Better to stay ready than to get ready.

by Anonymousreply 41November 25, 2024 12:26 AM

[quote] you think men aren't stuck in a similar rigid mindset

Not from birth I don’t. In the straight world no one gives a fuck what a man looks like when he attends a party or goes to a bar. He’ll even have the confidence to hit on an 8 when he’s a 4. But that 8 is doing her best to be 10 because since birth, looks matter most.

Since social media I think gays and women have it even harder.

by Anonymousreply 42November 25, 2024 1:13 AM

R42, I think the point was that men are also taught to compete from the beginning just not necessarily in the same way. There is still competition to get women it's just frequently the criteria is about power, money and prestige.

by Anonymousreply 43November 25, 2024 1:30 AM

I think that straight men are starting to feel more insecure about their looks. The bald or shaved-head trend has been a stroke of luck to men with male pattern baldness. They just shave all their hair off and call it a day.

by Anonymousreply 44November 25, 2024 2:02 AM

Those women will look like withered up old prunes as they really age.

by Anonymousreply 45November 25, 2024 2:07 AM

R42 - all the dating apps and men's experience on them would disagree with you. Tons of men who I consider attractive get very few swipes.

There are threads about this all the time on Reddit and other social media.

by Anonymousreply 46November 25, 2024 2:25 AM

Sounds like a miserable way to live and I think most men prefer women with softer bodies and curves.

by Anonymousreply 47November 25, 2024 2:37 AM

OP doesn’t know very many black and Latina women.

by Anonymousreply 48November 25, 2024 2:40 AM

The skinny women where I live all get Botox and fillers to keep from looking old—which results in them just looking bizarre.

by Anonymousreply 49November 25, 2024 2:43 AM

R44 many of the single straight women I know have zero attraction to bald men. Even the ones that die their hair bleach blonde. I have one straight girlfriend that admits and says things look like wanna see the car my new sugar daddy bought me. So crazy but she's been mental since grade school

by Anonymousreply 50November 25, 2024 4:46 AM

Are all your other single straight female friends prostituting themselves, r50? I'm going to go out on a limb and say that your social circle doesn't represent the majority of women. You're friends with a hooker!

by Anonymousreply 51November 25, 2024 5:23 AM

I’ve long subscribed to the belief that nothing tastes as good as being thin.

by Anonymousreply 52November 25, 2024 5:43 AM

R50 not all but her stories are the most entertaining. But all of them say no hair on top is a no go for them...but of course they're all single and don't take the time to really know someone for their character or charm

by Anonymousreply 53November 25, 2024 6:09 AM

The daily exercise will definitely benefit them as they age.

by Anonymousreply 54November 25, 2024 12:14 PM

I dont understand the obsession with what other people do or dont eat. I feel like it is rude when people watch me like a hawk and comment “you barely ate!” Who cares. Leave me be.

by Anonymousreply 55November 25, 2024 1:27 PM

I found Kelly Ripa's daily diet really depressing. Salads and Kind bars at least twice a day, every day. The same thing over and over. No thanks.

by Anonymousreply 56November 25, 2024 1:36 PM

At the age of 67, I am, at 6', the same weight, 165 lbs, I was in my early to mid-20s.

by Anonymousreply 57November 25, 2024 1:50 PM

These are the people that get pissed about me losing 95lbs on Ozempic. So righteously angry. Smiling evily when they say it will give me cancer and bowel death and every other ludicrous side effect. Now a year later they ask where they can score some.

by Anonymousreply 58November 25, 2024 2:01 PM

People say that to you, R58? Wow. Fuck them. What assholes!

by Anonymousreply 59November 25, 2024 2:12 PM

R58 Good for you for being honest about it. What in the fuck is the point of lying about it, like Lizzo and so many other celebrities??

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 60November 25, 2024 2:24 PM

Sounds dreadful OP. Women like that are never really happy. Moderation in everything. I'll put up with a few wrinkles and extra pounds to be able to enjoy life and have a little good food and wine.

by Anonymousreply 61November 25, 2024 2:30 PM

R60, if Lizzo is taking a weight-loss drug she’d be doing a real service by discussing it the way Jim Gaffigan is.

However, the article makes it seem Lizzo is lying about working out, etc. The truth very well could be that she’s working out and taking a drug.

by Anonymousreply 62November 25, 2024 2:37 PM

[quote] If you have your 30 year old body at 50, your face is going to look AWFUL.

That's painting with an overly broad brush.

by Anonymousreply 63November 25, 2024 2:38 PM

I don't assume these women are awful but they are focused on having a prosperous man in their life and looking a certain way. It's not my cup of tea, but I don't really care what they do. You can bet, however, that they make judgements about the women who are aging naturallywithout surgery or injections because it's so frightening to them. Meanwhile, Bobbi Brown is making a fortune with products that are aimed at older women and essentially leave their faces as they are with a little bit of rosiness and evening out of skin tone..

by Anonymousreply 64November 25, 2024 2:54 PM

I don't understand why women can't just drink a lot of water, take a collagen supplement, and walk a lot like I do to stay looking young and thin.

by Anonymousreply 65November 25, 2024 8:22 PM

r56, Kelly Ripa definitely seems like she has anorexia but I often eat the same things day in and day out, especially if it's something I like. I get overwhelmed with food procurement and preparation and sometimes it's easier to just know what I am going to have every day. I have a huge salad with protein for lunch every day because it's the only way I am going to get enough vegetables to be healthy. I like to eat but am one of those people who can forget to eat and then all of a sudden I am starving and cranky so I need to have food ready in advance. Sometimes I wish food came in a pill like on The Jetsons.

by Anonymousreply 66November 25, 2024 8:36 PM

Kelly Ripa eats two Kind bars per day?? She should follow Bernadette Peters' lead and share one Kind bar with her assistant when she wants a treat.

by Anonymousreply 67November 25, 2024 8:40 PM

All of the most beautiful & in-shape women I know don’t eat & never have; they feed.

by Anonymousreply 68November 25, 2024 8:53 PM

Kelly Ripa's daily meal plan doesn't look that bad to me.

She is 5'2" at most.

One of the problems about being a woman is that most things are portioned for men. Then you have American-sized over servings at restaurants.

An acceptable weight for a woman 5'2" is 104-131. She's probably around 105-110.

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 69November 25, 2024 9:55 PM

Sounds like maybe 1200 calories, if she’s lucky.

by Anonymousreply 70November 25, 2024 10:03 PM

Well how else do you think she stays so fantastically thin?

I'd say she's at 1500 calories, which is fine.

I want my rich and thin stars to have to pay SOMEWHERE in their lives. Excessive exercising and not eating sounds like a reasonable trade-off.

I don't want fat and ugly stars - I want my stars beautiful and thin with beautiful faces, masking the daily pain of looking like that. As God intended.

by Anonymousreply 71November 25, 2024 10:17 PM

I wonder if Kelly Ripa ever gets tired of her diet and buys a slice of pizza. It seems like a pretty joyless existence.

by Anonymousreply 72November 25, 2024 11:45 PM

It must be miserable to be like that. No thanks. I'd rather divorce and do what I want.

by Anonymousreply 73November 25, 2024 11:51 PM

I’m shocked that people who exercise twice a day have a hard time sleeping

by Anonymousreply 74November 25, 2024 11:53 PM

Fat people might be jolly, but it’s not “joyful” is it?

by Anonymousreply 75November 25, 2024 11:56 PM

Kelly Ripa-like Gwen Stefani-is extremely disciplined and fanatical about being thin. Both were chubby when young. Now they are both very shallow.

by Anonymousreply 76November 26, 2024 12:34 AM

"Look at French women."

I'd rather not.

by Anonymousreply 77November 26, 2024 12:38 AM

Are they all (French women, Kelly Ripa, etc) cigarette smokers?

by Anonymousreply 78November 26, 2024 12:46 AM

Your grocery budget in the high rent places should be slashed. Upmarket and bloated don’t always compliment well.

by Anonymousreply 79November 26, 2024 1:45 AM

They eat, but they sneak eat. Maybe one day a week, just like this.

by Anonymousreply 80November 26, 2024 2:08 AM

[QUOTE]No shit, some of these women have abs at 60 years old.

You have to wonder how many take HGH. If I had the money, I'd try it. I don't want to look like a gym bunny, but it sure would be nice not to deal with sore, inflamed joints and have an improved sense of well-being.

by Anonymousreply 81November 26, 2024 2:19 AM

It’s the kind of figure that, as a Midwesterner, you almost only see when on vacation in other parts of the country.

by Anonymousreply 82November 26, 2024 2:33 AM

It does seem like a joyless existence to me. Obsessing over calories and food is indicative of an eating disorder. Kelly Ripa looks unhealthy to me.

by Anonymousreply 83November 26, 2024 2:12 PM

But R83, didn’t you read R69’s post? He or she taught us that Kelly Ripa is almost the exact average perfect weight.

by Anonymousreply 84November 26, 2024 2:16 PM

Being obese and heedless of calories is joyful?

by Anonymousreply 85November 26, 2024 2:17 PM

When Kelly Ripa was on Dancing On Air (the show also had another name) her face was fuller and her chest was bigger, but no one I knew considered her chubby or overweight. In fact, my friends thought she was an almost perfect specimen at the time.

by Anonymousreply 86November 26, 2024 2:18 PM

She had the cushioning to push it real good!

by Anonymousreply 87November 26, 2024 2:21 PM

Wow, R87. I'd never have recognized her.

by Anonymousreply 88November 26, 2024 2:26 PM

R87, she looked like a woman.

by Anonymousreply 89November 26, 2024 2:28 PM

Go back to Dance Party USA. She wasn’t thin.

by Anonymousreply 90November 26, 2024 2:31 PM

R85, like most things, it doesn’t have to be one extreme or the other.

Comments like yours, designed to be obtuse, are akin to right wingers replying to the idea of same-sex marriage by countering, “What’s next, marrying a dog?”

by Anonymousreply 91November 26, 2024 2:34 PM

No, I was replying to R83’s use of the word JOYLESS.

by Anonymousreply 92November 26, 2024 2:35 PM

I haven't had a bite in years!

by Anonymousreply 93November 26, 2024 2:44 PM

r74, once women hit peri-menopause, falling alseep and staying asleep is difficult.

by Anonymousreply 94November 26, 2024 3:01 PM

Dancing on Air/Dance Party USA was rife with drama — even thirty years later.

by Anonymousreply 95November 26, 2024 3:06 PM

Ive noticed that being extremely thin is not popular with ethnic groups where the people have better waist hip ratios. It's really only certain white women of Northern European and Asian backgrounds who feel the pressure.

Not so coincidentally they seem to have the fewest curves.

by Anonymousreply 96November 26, 2024 3:40 PM

Seems that most straight men, from most ethnic groups, prefer women who have curves.

by Anonymousreply 97November 26, 2024 3:43 PM

White and asian men, however, prefer slim women.

by Anonymousreply 98November 26, 2024 3:44 PM

The thinnest people I know are dead.

by Anonymousreply 99November 26, 2024 3:46 PM

I think of it this way, most Americans are fat and by virtue if you do what mostly everyone else is doing you’ll likely become overweight, if not already.

by Anonymousreply 100November 26, 2024 8:52 PM

When Kelly Ripa was on AMC she had a 'mini transformation' where she lost weight and went platinum blonde. It was about the time Mark Consuelos started on the show (she had been on the show for quite a few years before that). She's been that think ever since.

by Anonymousreply 101November 26, 2024 8:54 PM

thin not think

by Anonymousreply 102November 26, 2024 8:55 PM

I knew a thin nutritionist in her fifties who was just starting to lose her face. She was a total cunt and (I suspect) overexercized herself so much that she had a hip replacement in her forties (fact). Sexy.

The fact is that knowing a woman is in her 60s, no matter what she looks like,, makes her unfuckable to many straight men. I wonder when women are believed to have gone over the hill in terms of sexiness? 55? 60?

I offered the cunt a cute pink sugar cookie and she recoiled like I had handed her a live grenade.

She was also psychotically cheap.

by Anonymousreply 103November 26, 2024 9:45 PM

OP and all those in the thread...thanks for the laughs, it's made my day.

by Anonymousreply 104November 26, 2024 9:53 PM

R103 they are unfuckable when they hit menopause.

by Anonymousreply 105November 26, 2024 10:31 PM

“Over the hill” happens at 35 R103

by Anonymousreply 106November 26, 2024 11:13 PM

I’m not sure if I agree with that. ^^ Most of the true blue Newport Nancies I know are in their 50s and 60s

by Anonymousreply 107November 26, 2024 11:36 PM

No, we are in our prime R105! Best sex of our lives!!

by Anonymousreply 108November 27, 2024 12:19 AM

R85–yes, it is. I’ve been on both sides and eating as much of you want and whatever you want is far more joyful. It is like a high. Why do you think people are addicted to overeating?

by Anonymousreply 109November 27, 2024 3:51 AM

It’s great while you are eating, but overall the experience of being fat is not fun. It’s not joyful when you can barely get your socks on, when you are out of breath all the time, when you have big jiggly tits. Not fun.

by Anonymousreply 110November 27, 2024 4:51 AM

Practicing delayed gratification can yield great results.

by Anonymousreply 111November 27, 2024 7:58 AM

R100 I guess I have never been that fat. I have always been under 200. Close, but never reached it. Definitely overweight though.

by Anonymousreply 112November 27, 2024 1:14 PM

Most vegetarians I know are either chubby or actively have an eating disorder.

by Anonymousreply 113November 27, 2024 1:16 PM

OP I started watching a ballet YouTuber for reason. She goes to Pilates every morning, has nothing but multiple low-fat, sugar-free coffee until lunch (some kind of salad), walks all over the city taking zero public transport, and has more coffee and sugar free electrolyte drinks between afternoon rehearsals and has a small protein-vegetable-starch dinner.

She actually doesn’t look great - her hair is straw, her skin is terrible, just like most of the other female dancers - but that’s what the job requires.

by Anonymousreply 114November 27, 2024 1:22 PM

Although constantly telling me how amazing I look, what great skin I have, my addled niece, who’s had her own history in this regard, insists that I must have an eating disorder. To no avail, I explain that having great skin is not typically consistent with an eating disorder.

r21 Most trophy wives are not replaced. I think rich men-- excluding celebrities/athletes have a lower than average divorce rate.

by Anonymousreply 116November 27, 2024 1:34 PM

R116, on what evidence is your assertion based?

by Anonymousreply 117November 27, 2024 2:29 PM

Ballet is a special case, no fatties allowed.

by Anonymousreply 118November 27, 2024 2:37 PM

Ballet dancers are the trophy wives of the entertainment world.

Diet Coke and ciggies only.

by Anonymousreply 119November 27, 2024 2:51 PM

R40 = Calista.

by Anonymousreply 120November 27, 2024 2:56 PM

Ask me if I care about these women.

by Anonymousreply 121November 27, 2024 3:02 PM

[quote] Sounds like a miserable way to live and I think most men prefer women with softer bodies and curves

Most straight men prefer a softer bodied (ie well proportioned, little-to-no-belly, with tits and ass) woman like Monica Belluci/Helen Mirren/Nigella Lawson for sex. But for impressing their buddies and making other men jealous, which is the really important thing because they thrive on competition, their ideal is an aerobicized supermodel type.

by Anonymousreply 122November 27, 2024 3:02 PM

R122 I think they care more about age and getting someone much younger to impress their buddies than anything else.

by Anonymousreply 123November 27, 2024 3:14 PM

r117 reports and studies. Now they might cheat more whatever, but they have lower divorce rates.

by Anonymousreply 124November 27, 2024 8:27 PM

While sitting at a pharmacy inside a grocery store, I was surprised to notice a woman wearing leggings who was fit. I see corpulent women wearing leggings outlining fat rolls every day. And then I noticed another fit woman wearing leggings. That grocery store serves a rich neighborhood, so I'd guess these were women who had free time to work out and enough money to afford good, lean protein.

by Anonymousreply 125November 27, 2024 9:27 PM

[quote] That grocery store serves a rich neighborhood, so I'd guess these were women who had free time to work out and enough money to afford good, lean protein.

Irrespective of wealth, there are some communities where men like their women a bit zaftig. And the women in those communities are eager to please their men.

by Anonymousreply 126November 27, 2024 9:40 PM

Hmmmm I had a huge hot dog for lunch, and half of a turkey breast and cheese sandwich too, I couldn’t care less about these skinny fraus.

by Anonymousreply 127November 27, 2024 9:50 PM

R127 And what does your body look like?

by Anonymousreply 128November 27, 2024 9:52 PM

That's not a fat person's lunch, r128. That would be a whole pizza or bucket of chicken. You sound like you've never lived.

by Anonymousreply 129November 27, 2024 10:01 PM

R129 A “huge” hot dog AND half a sandwich, not a fat lunch? You type obese.

by Anonymousreply 130November 27, 2024 10:03 PM

Bitch, have you ever in your life seen a "huge" hot dog? R127 was exaggerating the size. All hot dogs are roughly the same size.

You don't know how big that sandwich was. The slices of bread could have been the size of postcards and he ate half.

You're wasting your life.

by Anonymousreply 131November 27, 2024 10:06 PM

It’s chubby, a bit flabby, but not overweight or obese R128.

It’s a tiny bit thinner than Matt Damon’s body about fourteen or fifteen years ago, but a lot less toned.

I already ate like that when I was slim and nearly flat bellied, years ago.

And I wouldn’t trade places with these disordered eating fraus and their obsession with their looks.

by Anonymousreply 132November 27, 2024 10:11 PM

R132 You sound GROTESQUE.

by Anonymousreply 133November 27, 2024 10:18 PM

Kelly ripa is 100 pounds at most

by Anonymousreply 134November 27, 2024 10:45 PM

What about creatine? Do women take this?

by Anonymousreply 135November 27, 2024 10:45 PM

I know someone who was bulimic for decades and is still alive...

by Anonymousreply 136November 27, 2024 10:46 PM

Everything tastes better than skinny feels. I’ve tried both, and I’ll take the cheesecake.

by Anonymousreply 137November 27, 2024 10:53 PM

[quote] Irrespective of wealth, there are some communities where men like their women a bit zaftig. And the women in those communities are eager to please their men.

Which wealthy communities like zaftig (a bit) women?

by Anonymousreply 138November 27, 2024 10:56 PM

[quote] All hot dogs are roughly the same size.

Liar!

by Anonymousreply 139November 27, 2024 11:01 PM

*roughly* , it's not like they're making hot dogs the size of Pringles canisters and using loaves of bread as buns

by Anonymousreply 140November 27, 2024 11:04 PM

Close enough!

Hotdogs? More like mystery meat! You gonna get cancer!

by Anonymousreply 142November 27, 2024 11:21 PM

I don’t eat. I’m broke and starving and extremely depressed. But I look great in that little black speedo I’m too lethargic to wear!

by Anonymousreply 143November 28, 2024 1:15 AM

Women like this always develop osteoporosis although the exercise and refraining from alcohol are points in their favor. They need more calcium.

by Anonymousreply 144November 28, 2024 7:02 AM

OP, I want to know more about your gym instructor who took Ozempic and lost all the weight.

by Anonymousreply 145November 28, 2024 10:34 AM

[quote]No one has the leisure to workout this much. These women have nannies, maids, and probably don’t actually cook. It’s easy to focus all your energy on your appearance when you’re not subject to the overwhelming demands of normal life. And also, what a depressing life.

Here's to the Ladies Who Never Lunch.

by Anonymousreply 146November 28, 2024 2:06 PM

r136, Bulimia is different than anorexia-you really don't lose weight being bulimic, it's about being able to eat anything you want and not gain weight, rather than losing weight.

by Anonymousreply 147November 28, 2024 3:11 PM

I'm about 20-30 pounds overweight and often wish I could summon the discipline to do what these skinny fraus do, but I just can't seem to execute my plans. I love food and don't want to give it up. All of the skinny women I know over age 40--and I mean ALL OF THEM--eat practically nothing.

by Anonymousreply 148November 28, 2024 4:29 PM

Simon really blew it with this one, huh.

by Anonymousreply 149November 28, 2024 4:35 PM

R148 brings to mind Groucho’s response to the woman who explained she had 22 children because she loved her husband. “I love my cigar too, but I take it out of my mouth once in a while.”

by Anonymousreply 150November 28, 2024 4:52 PM

“ If I feel hungry for a snack I just go for a walk.”

😆 Who the hell would take this kind of advice?

These fraus have no idea how the human body works.

by Anonymousreply 151December 1, 2024 5:55 PM

I get hungrier when I exercise.

by Anonymousreply 152December 3, 2024 3:13 PM

Remembering my aunt dumping a buffet table's worth of delicious deli because company left and she didn't feel safe with food like that in the house. She has never been overweight. These women are always thinking about food.

by Anonymousreply 153December 3, 2024 3:49 PM

The happier straight married couples I know in real life don't seem to have pathological diet/body obsessions, but they aren't total dumps either. Dad bods and average looking women with a sense of humor.

We all get old in slow motion and we're all gonna die... enjoy some ice cream every so often!

by Anonymousreply 154December 3, 2024 4:38 PM

[quote]These women are always thinking about food.

It was pointed out to me long ago that since the diet and exercise scene became all-consuming (ie became a big-bucks industry), toiletries like shampoos and soaps are all full of food ingredients. It's not because we discovered food was good when externally applied; it's because all those women who never eat can at least smell coconut and avocado when they wash their hair or put their face-cream on.

The thing I noticed myself was that in the 1960s and 70s the cosier women's magazines had lots of articles about how to dress to suit your imperfect figure. There are no such articles any more, because you are expected to have a perfect figure, otherwise you can get fucked as far as magazine advertisers such as clothes designers and retailers care.

by Anonymousreply 155December 7, 2024 2:22 PM

They also tend not have large breasts and big butts. They diet for some made up idea of what beautiful feminity while most straight men like a shapely Scarlet Johanson figure.

Poverty stricken street rat urchin women of the1600 and 1700s used to be skinny out of food scarcity and the richest women were plump. Being skinny was equated with being poor.

by Anonymousreply 156December 7, 2024 4:32 PM

I think they diet to look girlish instead of womanly. If you don't have big butts and tits then outside of surgery, not much you can do. But you can always diet to look more youthful.

by Anonymousreply 157December 7, 2024 6:17 PM

if you're a woman over 40, the body tends to hold on to fat longer, and get dispersed more around the abdominal area. Many women lose their ass. My mother's family all have fupas and look like they're 6 months pregnant, with no ass. I am fighting that tooth and nail at 59. So I have to skip dinner most of the time (except for vacation or out with friends) to prevent the fupa. And yes, I walk everywhere.

by Anonymousreply 158December 8, 2024 1:13 AM

True. David Harbour had the burly, statuesque appearance of a a Greek God in his 20s. But it’s when his hairy beer gut torso showed up on Stranger Things that he became a major sex symbol to women. They can see themselves crushed under all that man flesh. And add to that movie star charisma.
