Who will be the first millennial president

Gen X shot themselves in the foot with their little Trumpian antics.

I vote Mayor Pete

by Anonymousreply 18November 28, 2024 11:52 AM

Mayor Pete is history.

by Anonymousreply 1November 23, 2024 5:33 AM

It will probably end up being JD Vance if Trump ends up having a heart attack or stroke.

by Anonymousreply 2November 23, 2024 5:59 AM

R2, if either happens and Dump dies or is incapacitated, VP Vance will be president. That's how succession works. No "probably" about it.

by Anonymousreply 3November 23, 2024 6:03 AM

Well, R2, it won't end up being anybody else.

by Anonymousreply 4November 23, 2024 6:04 AM

JD Vance [italic]will[/italic] be president and that is honestly the greatest gift the Democrats could get.

Trump won't make it through four years.

by Anonymousreply 5November 23, 2024 1:27 PM

It’s going to be JD Vance OP. Surely you have realized this.

And Mayor Pete’s political career is over, tied as he is to the radioactive Biden administration.

by Anonymousreply 6November 23, 2024 1:30 PM

Mayor Pete for the Mayor of Ferndale. I see a comeback in the works. And a race he could easily win.

by Anonymousreply 7November 23, 2024 1:34 PM

Mayor Pete is far too great for this shithole country. I feel similarly re: Kamala.

[quote]I vote Mayor Pete

Grow up.

by Anonymousreply 9November 23, 2024 3:37 PM

It’ll be JD as Trump won’t make it 4 years one way or another. Hopefully Trump’s “charisma” and the insane MAGA adulation it inspires won’t rub off onto JD.

by Anonymousreply 10November 23, 2024 8:18 PM

It's definitely happening within the next four years.

by Anonymousreply 11November 27, 2024 4:58 AM

It will be JD Vance; though, not necessarily because Trump won't live another four years. Depending on the final composition of the incoming cabinet, I fully expect JD Vance to invoke the 25th Amendment to remove Trump as President. If he sees an opportunity to advance himself and can get a majority of the cabinet to support it, JD and the cabinet majority will inform the House Speaker and the Senate President pro tem (per Paragraph 1, Section 4) that Trump is unable to discharge the duties of the presidency and is being suspended from office.

God help us with what JD Vance would do to us as president, including the expanded immunity powers afforded by our hijacked SCOTUS. But, at least a coup like this would probably finally sink a prospective Trump dynasty -- because you know that DJTJ, Eric, and Lara all have their sights on attaining power, yet none possess any of the cult leader charisma of their master.

Is Gavin Newsom a millennial?

by Anonymousreply 13November 28, 2024 2:31 AM

No, Gen X (b. 1967).

by Anonymousreply 14November 28, 2024 2:47 AM

Casper The Ghosted

by Anonymousreply 15November 28, 2024 3:14 AM

I don't think Pete Buttigieg would be the first millennial president, but for those saying his political career is over are jumping the gun. He's too intelligent and smart not to be an asset for Democrats and the Democratic Party in some position. With the anti-intellectual clown car the Trump posse is about to let loose on the country, sensible people will still be needed to cleanup the mess they are going to leave behind.

by Anonymousreply 16November 28, 2024 3:32 AM

Pete will never be anything beyond the grift appointment he scored. The CIA tried with him but you can't always win

by Anonymousreply 17November 28, 2024 3:41 AM

Pete’s political career does not have to take a deep dive into the trash pit like Harris and Waltz. Pete would behave a strong chance to be mayor of Ferndale Mi.

From Ferndale as Jamie Blanchard might say it’s on to be the Governor of Michigan

Then he would be a real force with a major cv.
