Rodgers wasn't always like this. It astounds me how much he's changed for the bad.

Seriously, when he was Green Bay in the early days, both on and off the field, he was super-smart, thoughtful, woke in its best form, generous.

For examples, when he was a player representative for the cba between the players and the owners, he urged the players to reject the offered contract from the owners because it called for an increase in the games schedule.

True, the owners were going to cough up some upfront money to each player to accept at least one additional game but there was no commensurate increase in benefits to cover potential injuries, the loss of time-off, and all the other hazards associated with another game.

In short, the owners played the "See all this money now? Isn't it tempting?" but then, once the players took the money, there would be no more to offset the issues that an increased schedule would cause.

Rodgers argued that guys like him who had multi-millionaire, multi-year contracts wouldn't be hurt by another game but the potential downside to the back-bencher, minimum pay guys to accept the contract was real.

He wanted them to vote the contract down until the owners came up with more dough on both the front and back end. And Rodgers was right, but he lost that argument because the pay-me now guys voted to accept it.

Rodgers publicly criticized, at his press conference, that moron who, during a moment of silence, yelled "Muslims suck". He then told an interviewer how he was floored when he received a hand-written letter from President Obama praising him for doing that and talked about how nervous he was to meet him. They played golf together at least once.

He donated his portion of Packer Foundation charitable donations to a public interest law firm who took on indigent clients.

What happened to that guy?
