We talk about background checks to own a gun. Many jobs require background checks, as does law enforcement. There should be a background check required for presidential candidates with clear criteria to eliminate people with conflict of interests, or trying to overthrow an election like trump. The founding fathers and every Congress since did not think to add to the constitution that convicted felons and adjudicated rapists are disqualified from running for president such as Trump. The Supreme Court is also conservative but they do have an allegiance to the law. Mass deportation is not as easy as it sounds as even migrants have rights. The last thing Trump wants is more inflation so the tariffs may not be as widespread as he says. Firing federal workers is also difficult as they are well protected. In the Senate, 4 Republican Senators can stop every Trump appointment. And the House Republicans have a majority of 1 currently.
