“By divesting Jones of Infowars’ assets, the families and the team at The Onion have done a public service and will meaningfully hinder Jones’ ability to do more harm,” Mattei said.
“We were told this outcome would be nearly impossible, but we are no strangers to impossible fights. The world needs to see that having a platform does not mean you are above accountability – the dissolution of Alex Jones’ assets and the death of Infowars is the justice we have long awaited and fought for,” Robbie Parker, whose daughter Emilie was killed in the Sandy Hook shooting, said in a press release.

Fucking brilliant. I just subscribed to The Onion in support. This from NYT: While the alliance between Everytown and The Onion may seem like an odd fit, the two organizations share an interest in curbing gun violence, said John Feinblatt, president of Everytown. Mr. Feinblatt said that mission was underscored with depressing regularity in the aftermath of mass shootings, when The Onion goes viral with its oft-shared headline: “‘No Way To Prevent This,’ Says Only Nation Where This Regularly Happens.”

This is about my absolute favorite Onion article (it's been taken down from the website). The original article mentions Bellagio-style "dancing waters," too
[QUOTE]"Calling the current U.S. Capitol 'inadequate and obsolete,' Congress will relocate to Charlotte or Memphis if its demands for a new, state-of-the-art facility are not met," The Onion wrote in May 2002.
[QUOTE]"Don't get us wrong: We love the drafty old building," Speaker of the House Dennis Hastert (R-IL) said. "But the hard reality is, it's no longer suitable for a world-class legislative branch. The sight lines are bad, there aren't enough concession stands or bathrooms, and the parking is miserable. It hurts to say, but the capitol's time has come and gone."
[QUOTE]It is likely that the editors of the Beijing Evening News did not recognize the article's reference to US professional sports franchises' demands for new stadiums. But one might think that the illustration of a proposed new capitol building with a retractable dome would suggest something odd about the Onion article.
[QUOTE]It did not. The Evening News published the story as real. And initially, even when told the story was satire, the Chinese paper's international news editor "ruled out a correction, challenging a [Los Angeles] Times reporter to prove that the story was false."

So funny. Infowars was put to auction at the request of the Sandy Hook Parents. In their settlement, THEY received Infowars as part of the Alex Jones Assets. THEY are the ones who approved the auction and THEY are the ones who approved the final sale to The Onion.
If the sale is voided, 1] The Parents might move to sever the Infowars INTELLECTUAL property, including past broadcasts, from the physical property, like the studios and put them up to auction separately. 2] The parents might move to redo the auction and let Republican dark money flood the Sandy Hook Parents with BILLIONS of dollars and a payoff to the Jones crap.
I hope the sale is verified and documented.

The Onion bought that hell hole, lock stock and barrel which means the SERVERS AND EVERYTHING ON THOSE SERVERS.
This includes emails and attachments to and from pricks like apartheid asshole, Roger Stone, all domestic terror groups (“militias”), Flynn, etc.
The Onion owns it and it gets turned over to the FBI, CIA, Interpol and the Five Eyes. Pandora’s box of conspiracy links, possible crimes and a murder board of scumbags.
