He's objectively handsome, but, aesthetically speaking, I just can't get over the tiny, close-set, derpy-looking eyes (someone on DL once compared them to baboon eyes, lol).
As frivolous as it sounds, those are not the eyes of a leading man, sorry. Look at the eyes of all the other top-billed male stars throughout Hollywood history (NOT character actors), such as Paul Newman.
Granted, I've never seen GP act so I don't know how charismatic he is onscreen.
