The View — Part 31

We're just checking in. Are you all okay? Do you all really watch this show every day?
by Anonymous | reply 2 | November 13, 2024 5:37 AM |
The show pulled in just under 4.5 million viewers the day after Election Day, making it the 'most watched show' since Barbara Walter's final episode on May 16, 2014. In other words, 4.47 million viewers tuned in to see the six women sitting Shiva, and listening to Sunny putting all the blame on 'white voters' for Harris' loss. The View” averaged 3.078 million viewers during the week of Nov. 4, making it the No. 1 show among daytime network talk and news shows.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | November 13, 2024 12:33 PM |
I don't think any of the hosts need to worry about being replaced or cancellation of the show. As a matter of fact, they may want their agents re-negotiating their contracts for immediate pay raises right about now.
[quote] Year-to-year, “The View” was up 24% in total viewers (3.078 million vs. 2.489 million), up 22% with women 25-54 (270,000 vs. 221,000) and up 33% with women 18-49 (270,000 vs. 145,000). This season, “The View” has been up year-to-year in nine of ten weeks. All told, the show is up 9% in total viewers (2.614 million vs. 2.406 million) season to date compared to last year. “The View” also continues to be No. 1 in households and total viewers among daytime talk shows and news programs for the fifth straight season, according to ABC.

Sunny's hair almost always looks like a mantilla. She really does need to come out with rosary beads every day. black ones!
by Anonymous | reply 5 | November 13, 2024 1:00 PM |
Sunny is not changing a thing, unless...perhaps her contracted salary. Her mantilla and racist comments have drawn in nearly 5 million viewers. Take that, Meghan McCain ! They like Sunny - they really like her !
by Anonymous | reply 6 | November 13, 2024 1:12 PM |
R6, as R3 mentioned, I read at another site all of the Trump lovers/View haters intentionally tuned in to watch the day after the election.
I think Sunny is bordering on Star Jones levels of mockery. Ratings went up during Star's engagement, because she became such a Bridezilla. Non-regular viewers found her behavior extremely entertaining. Us regular viewers? Not so much. We all know how that ended for Star. Sunny should really try to get back to the business of being a co-host and stop being the self-appointed election blamer.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | November 13, 2024 3:55 PM |
I expect the ratings to drop now that the election is over. Yes, they were great last week. Especially Wednesday when viewers tuned in to watch them eat crow.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | November 13, 2024 4:03 PM |
Whoopi's already pushing her prosecco brand. I didn't know she had a prosecco brand. No wonder she bought a house in Italy. Now we're getting a preview of tomorrow's show which will feature Annie starring that working woman who has to work, uh huh, Whoopi Goldberg.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | November 13, 2024 4:14 PM |
Oh, Fuck. They're interrupting the show for asshole Trump's meeting with Biden. An offer he refused to extend when he was the outgoing POTUS. Why do they do this? We can watch them sit there like two old men on regularly scheduled news. They're not answering questions so what's the point.
I'm sure Whoopi will be thrilled to have her big birthday celebration interrupted.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | November 13, 2024 4:21 PM |
It is just Trump getting a normal WH reception, but he sees it as Biden eating shit in public.
It's why he didn't do it.

by Anonymous | reply 11 | November 13, 2024 4:32 PM |
Hahaha, here in NY the Biden/Trump WH meeting interrupted Whoopi’s birthday celebration for about 20 minutes. I assume it was nationwide.
I get why Sunny’s bitter but bitch needs to stop already with her new catchphrase “America is getting what it voted for.” Not ALL of America voted for Trump.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | November 13, 2024 4:47 PM |
Whoopi's going all in on the Italian lifestyle. Does she have some deal with them as a tourist ambassador?
Sunny making the ridiculous and dangerously unqualified SOD pick all about going after black people in the military. Never change Sunny, except please do.
The Broadway dude playing Louie Armstrong took the knee for Whoopi. Returning to normal ass-kissing mode post-election. He kept referring to black people as African American. That's so pre-George Floyd. Oh, he's explaining why he says AA. He can describe himself and others however he damn well pleases. So sick of this mandatory word to use now bullshit.
He sounds like Louie except you can tell he's a trained singer. Good luck to him.

I remember when Whoopi couldn’t step on an airplane. How is she getting to Italy? She had to take a bus everywhere in this country. (Like Aretha). She must bring loads of pot with her to take the edge off when flying.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | November 13, 2024 5:25 PM |
I normally never watch the last five minutes but boy, was I glad I did today. Sara’s spit take when Whoopi said that the bakery which made the Charlotte Russes refused to make them for her because of her politics was absolutely brilliant.

Why would anyone buy a wine bwcause Whoopi's name is on the label? Or on a wheel of cheese? She's getting to be worse than Trump.

[quote]I expect the ratings to drop now that the election is over.
No way - the season is just getting started with Trump heading back to the White House. (September and October was just a warm-up this year.) This season, “The View” has been up year-to-year in nine of ten weeks. All told, the show is up 9% in total viewers (2.614 million vs. 2.406 million) season to date compared to last year, so it already has taken off like a rocket. These ratings in November sweeps are astonishing.
The viewers love this day-by-day coverage from these women on the second coming of Trump. Ratings may 'even out' and drop ever so slightly, but won't take a major drop. Even if / when they even out the ratings will still be outpacing the past few weeks.

Sunny's really acting like an immature brat. Rein it in and grow the fuck up. You can see she's fuming underneath every time she talks about ANYTHING political. I think she jumped in and cut Alyssa off because this is the AG, so she just HAD to speak first. You'll notice she also got her great black person compliment in by mentioning Eric Holder as some bastion of former AG greatness.

No, Sunny doesn't. The only person she makes eye contact with at the table is Whoopi. Never Alyssa, Ana, Joy, or Sarah. When Sunny talks she looks straight out into the audience (like she's a professor talking to students) and then ends by looking directly at Whoopi.
If there's a guest there she likes (usually it's narrowed down to Black or Latino) she looks at them directly in the eye when talking to them. Others (especially white men) she looks down at the index cards.
I'm shocked Cynthia didn't tell Whoopi she was the inspiration for her becoming an actress (You know the drill, "I saw you in Ghost and I said 'that's what I want to be!'). I'm also surprised Sara didn't do the obligatory, though totally dishonest, comment 'I'm hearing Oscar buzz for your performance...' Maybe she has come to her senses, and knows that's become a curse.

by Anonymous | reply 48 | November 15, 2024 12:35 PM |
Mayor Adams is scheduled to be a guest today. Let's see if Sunny 'side eyes' him in the interview, or looks him in the eye with a big smile on her face. It's a tough one - he's a black man in an authoritative position, so he deserves an ass kissing from Sunny. But he's in lots of legal trouble, so the 'prosecutor' in her may give him the side eye and the snark.
I so hope they ask him about the police raid on the gay massage parlor.

Sunny fucked Kamala so hard. Kamala gave a formidable answer to her question but Sunny didn't think it was good enough. So she asked again more directly which is when Kamala gave the *not a thing comes to mind* soundbite. Never would have happened of she had just accepted the first answer.
She actually is loving that people are saying she cost Kamala the election because it makes her feel powerful.
by Anonymous | reply 50 | November 15, 2024 3:09 PM |
R49, she's made a few disparaging remarks about Adams over the years. I remember this because she only speaks ill of black men if they're a Republican politician or if they are/were married to white women. Adams is neither so I 'm wondering why she dislikes him.

When they were discussing crime in the city, I was hoping Adams would have gone after Sunny and her defense of bail reform The migrants who come here and have criminal records or commit crimes on our soil usually stay here because their countries refuse to take them back. That why there is credence to the accusations they're emptying their prisons and asylums and shipping them off to our country. Castro did this back in the 80s.

They even had the owner give a press conference. Now, I guess they'll be able to afford a new boiler or ovens or whatever the hell was acting up courtesy of Whoopi. Holtermann's says Thanks, Whoopi!
What a bullshit farce this has become.
Here's exactly what Whoopi said:
[quote]"They said that their ovens had gone down, but folks went and got them anyway, which is why I’m not telling you who made them. It’s not… because I’m a woman, but perhaps they did not like my politics. But, that’s okay, because you know what, listen, this is my mother’s celebration. Pick these up and celebrate with me and my mom. Thank you everyone for celebrating my birthday today."
Neither Whoopi - nor anyone connected with 'The View' or ABC - ever mentioned the bakery by name. Not once. Not on the show, not in interviews, not in public in any way. Nothing. So where's the 'defamation' ?
The bakery self-identified themselves, most likely to gain free publicity for themselves right before the all-important holiday season. What better free publicity and boost your revenue - especially if you've had equipment problems in the past few months and lost sales such as an order for 50 cupcakes - by coming out and saying they're the bakery in question ?
Yet when push came to shove, the owner of the bakery backed far away - said she didn't know for certain if the cupcakes which were picked up on Wednesday morning were for the show or not. A woman who picked up the cupcakes never said who they worked for, where the cupcakes were going, or what / who they were for. She admitted this !
According to an interview she did with Entertainment Weekly: "She adds that she was not aware of any affiliations that the woman who picked up the desserts on Wednesday morning might have had, with regard to The View or otherwise."
What a bullshit controversy if ever there was one. The SI politicians need to learn the meaning of 'defamation'.

R60, in this day and age when someone publicly states a grievance without mentioning the perpetrator they know damn well the public will figure it out rather quickly. The bakery didn't have to "self-identify."
Whoopi knew exactly what she was doing. Why did she have to play the victim and throw that grenade out there? It was unnecessary and it was intentional. She wanted to play the victim? Too bad now it's flipped, and she's once again cast as the villain or idiot depending on the day. Today she's the villain.
Why doesn't she explain why her last birthday dessert was made by Ruby et Violette. A bakery owned by Rebekah Mercer of the ultra-conservative Mercer Family. Huge Trump donors by the way. No mention about that though.

I predict major changes at the end of the season regardless of what the co hosts are saying (you think they're going to say otherwise at this point?).
They all look over it and the onslaught of negative criticism they've received the last couple of weeks is clearly catching up to them.
Barbara Walters never would have allowed it to deteriorate to this point. It's a mess, and it makes The Talk watchable by comparison.

[quote]Why doesn't she explain why her last birthday dessert was made by Ruby et Violette. A bakery owned by Rebekah Mercer of the ultra-conservative Mercer Family. Huge Trump donors by the way. No mention about that though.
What's to mention ? Maybe it was Rebekah Mercer who asked the show not to mention her bakery, since she was from a family of Trump supporters, and didn't want them knowing she was supplying baked goods to a liberal host of a liberal talk show.
Furthermore, I don't recall Whoopi ever said she was 'banning' doing business with other people over their political beliefs, did she ? She was saying just the opposite on Wednesday.

r70, The view fires individual co hosts all the time no matter how the ratings are. the ratings would be high whether Sunnys there or not due to the trump presidency about to start. If she proves to be unpopular (which I suspect she is becoming more unpopular by the day) they'll get rid of her.
by Anonymous | reply 71 | November 16, 2024 10:44 PM |
R65 and R70 = Brian Teta
In the last month, Sunny's gotten flack for calling black men who weren't voting for Harris, "Crazy and ridiculous", and white women Trump voters "uneducated". Sunny's question to Kamala made the rounds of the Sunday morning political shows and is now considering a defining moment in Kamla losing the Presidency.
Whoopi is currently making rounds for making an issue she had with a baker political and earlier in the week drew controversy for trying to equate herself with the average working-class person, even though she's making millions per year alone on The View.
Ratings might be good now, but the general consensus even among democratic and left leaning spaces as well is that this show is completely out of touch with the average person and they're clearly struggling to connect with their audience.
by Anonymous | reply 72 | November 16, 2024 11:12 PM |
R71 The show learned their lesson in the 2013-14 season, when they fired Joy and replaced her with Jenny McCarthy - and watched their ratings fall into oblivion. They fired McCarthy and replaced her with another comedian - Michelle Collins. They got rid of Collins without ever saying farewell. They originally fired Joy because they found Joy to be 'unpopular'. They asked her to come back in 2015-16 when they went through two seasons of rotating hosts and dismal ratings (I believe that's when 'The Talk' was surpassing them in the ratings). I doubt they will be making that mistake again.
R72 And it is keeping the show in the news cycle, and enjoying the record-breaking ratings.

As shown on Friday's episode of The View's Behind the Table podcast, host Ana Navarro was recording the show when actress Eva Longoria called her. After Navarro let her friend know she filming, Longoria decided to use the opportunity to clear the air.
"Will you please let them know I didn't move out of the United States because of Trump?" Longoria, 49, said, to which Navarro, 52, pointed out that the Desperate Housewives alum was mentioned during The View's Hot Topics segment that day.
"Actually, your name came up in the discussion," Navarro said. "But you had moved before Trump."
"I've been in Europe [working] for 3 years," Longoria clarified, adding that the Marie Clarie article noted this in its piece. "The article says that. People just grabbed some clickbait stuff to be divisive, which makes me so sad that everything you say is just meant to be divisive when we can't be that way right now."

Flawless is a such a ridiculous way to portray Kamala’s campaign. Repeating that incessantly does not make it remotely true.

R82 and R83, Earlier, I began to type a comment similar to yours, but I thought why bother. It's the same script every damn day on this show. When Whoopi said they'd be discussing Trump and the election again, Sunny jumped in and said for the next four years.
I don't want to listen to the same arguments and complaints for the next four years. Alyssa and Sara are beating their heads against a wall trying to talk sense to Sunny. It feels like Groundhog Day on The View.
Whoopi needs to put her foot in her mouth again in order to give them something else to discuss. By the way I wonder if Whoopi realizes she sounds just like Trump when she creates imaginary slights against her by her perceived enemies.

There were things that Sunny complained about happening under Biden that she stopped speaking about the second that Harris was running. She also went from the Republicans biggest critic to preaching about "a seat at the table" for them literally overnight after Harris announced she wanted a Republican in her administration. That's why the "flawless" line for her is completely disingenuous. Either that, or Sunny really doesn't stand for a whole lot in terms of principles when push comes to shove.
I so want someone on the panel to ask her the next time she brings up the "Flawless campaign" line if she agreed with denying a Palestinian democratic supporter the chance to speak at the DNC.
R84 That's why I said there will most likely be changes next season. The panel is clearly becoming exhausted with having to deal with her infallibility on this. But a lot of this is ego with her as well, since she's being largely blamed for sinking Harris campaign. I think admitting mistakes would be akin to her saying she screwed up. And she's not going to do that. And how long can you keep beating the same drum before it becomes reductive?
by Anonymous | reply 92 | November 19, 2024 3:11 AM |
[quote] There were things that Sunny complained about happening under Biden that she stopped speaking about the second that Harris was running.
She also failed to ask Kamala if she supported cash reparations for the descendants of slaves, which she asked every Democrat during the 2019/2020 primary. And let’s not forget that Kamala went from being a progressive prosecutor to suddenly being tough on crime. Yet based on her criticisms of Nikki Haley, Sunny apparently doesn’t like chameleons.
by Anonymous | reply 93 | November 19, 2024 2:58 PM |

Barely paying attention but did Whoopi say "no trans has ever taken a championship" from a bio female? BULLSHIT. The big Olympics boxing scandal with the boxer who said "she" was being targeted and discriminated against has now been revealed as a bio male. He should be stripped of his medal.

Teflon Whoopi. In the past week she's described herself as a "working woman who has to work" pissing off working-class people and setting off online outrage and mockery of her ridiculous claim.
Without proof, she publicly accused a bakery of refusing to make her fucking birthday desserts. No apology. No nothing. She just skates as usual. Yeah, just "a working woman" with a celebrity pedigree which instills in her the confidence to accuse the underlings of misconduct. No fear of reprisal because that's the bubble she exists in.
Now little Miss out of touch is schooling us on Trans. Fuck off, Whoopi. She is so out of touch, yet she so proudly and so arrogantly wears the everywoman title. I'm so sick of her talking down to the audience and chastising us as if we're all a bunch of ignorant morons who need her to set us on the right path. She's an ignorant and out of touch celebrity who brings nothing to the table, and I wish they'd get rid of her already.
Thank God for Coppola's segment because the rest of the show was a total waste of time.

R97 = Sean Hannity.
Again, she stated her OPINION on why the UNAMED bakery did not want to make her cupcakes for her (yet they were able to make it when someone other than Whoopi placed the order). What facts does she need when she gave an opinion - not a news report ? Why does she need to issue an apology for sharing her opinion ?
If you MAGAs want to keep defending the bakery, then maybe the bakery should provide proof of when both Whoopi and the other person from the show placed the order for the cupcakes, and proof of the repair bill of when the boiler was actually fixed so that they could bake the cupcakes...and then apologize to Whoopi.

Why was Francis Ford Coppola on the show today, promoting his movie which opened in theaters back in September and became one of the biggest box office flops in recent history ? It had a budget of $120M and so far has made $7.6M back (according to IMDB). It got horrible reviews from audiences and critics, and so far has a 4.0/10 rating on IMDB.
Why promote this flop today ?
by Anonymous | reply 102 | November 19, 2024 11:47 PM |
Did anyone else notice something peculiar about their 'Solitaire Grand Harvest Solitaire $1,000 Give-Away' today at the end of the show ? While Sara and Alyssa were talking about the game, the camera panned the audience in three different shots.
Out of the three, two shots panned to one man sitting in the middle of the shot - a good looking black man in a blue sweater. And whose number was called to win the $1,000 ? The good looking black man in the blue sweater. A little too coincidental. Furthermore, he didn't seem to shocked and surprised when they called his number (37). He stood up and started to cry (allegedly) but showed no surprise nor excitement.

R100, I'm not a MAGA you myopic ass. Take your bakery OCD elsewhere and take your pathetic defense of the indefensible with you.
R102, I believe it's now available to stream so he's probably promoting it for those platforms. I read months ago he wanted it to stand on its own in theater release, but it's called show business for a reason. He needs to try to break even.
R103, I believe those segments are pre-taped before the show airs live. That's why Whoopi always reels out the "you all look so familiar" line every damn time. They probably zeroed in on the winner during the pre-taped camera pan while editing after the fact.

Oh, please R105, Whoopi needs how to learn how to moderate without losing her temper. Then she wastes more time covering her abhorrent behavior by taking time away in the next segment. Unqualified asshole. Oh great, now the high school drop-out is going to school us on education variations in the US. Teachers make a living wage you moron. They make well over six figures in many parts of the country.
Hey Sunny, why don't you talk about low-income area schools in NJ which are funded with tax dollars from affluent areas. They are given more per student than in affluent areas yet their student performance is abysmal. You can throw money at a problem but unless you address the root of the problem you will never see changes in student performance.
R106, Sunny going on about public schools and growing up in the poor, poor Bronx. Her parents moved to a nice area when she was a child so she could attend a PRIVATE school on the upper east side. Alyssa brought this up, but Sunny ignored it because it doesn't fit her narrative.

What's going on with Ronan's tits?
by Anonymous | reply 108 | November 20, 2024 4:37 PM |
School vouchers are just a discount for rich people for private school tuition. Alyssa is smoking something if they think poor people are going to be able to go to private schools - they can't make up the difference in cost and they are in areas that are typically wealthy and removed from poorer areas.
But the main thing is that you cannot get better schools if education is not a priority for parents and they are not involved. Many parents just don't know how to parent.
At this point - you could make online YouTube classes in parenting a requirement for all new parents. They have to do X videos twice a year and complete tests to prove they watched them - then they get the child credit on their taxes or some sort of benefit.
We've always talked about parenting classes - we could do it online now very easily.

What a waste of time this show has become. During election season they repeated themselves ad nauseam. Fine whatever, they wanted to drill home their points about dangerous Trump, yada, yada, yada.
But now? Every day Sunny repeats the same tired old list of Trump sins and ties them to his staff picks. Everyone knows his cabinet choices are nothing but a douchebro club comprised of sexual offenders. Then there's Whoopi who is sounding more ignorant by the day. Stop wasting segment time with your arrogant speeches. Talk about unfit. She seems like the perfect fit for a Trump appointment.
I just read he's added Marge to his "DOGE" team headed by Musk and Ramaswamy. This new dept. is sounding more and more like the Island of Reject Toys Trump created just to throw a bone to the faithful ass-kissers. by Anonymous | reply 130 | November 22, 2024 8:50 PM |
I decided to ask ChatGPT a few questions about reparations. Obviously, and contrary to what Sunny would have you believe, slavery has existed throughout the world for centuries. The US actually abolished it before some European countries. There is not a single instance of a country paying reparations to slaves or their descendants. In fact, the UK paid reparations to slave owners after abolition while Haitians were forced to pay France for their own freedom, a debt that France still refuses to pay back. So good luck with your historic crusade for reparations, Sunny.

Ana seems to rationalize bad behavior if she knows someone personally. She did it with Marco Rubio and she's doing it with this bought and paid for nominee.
It's rather glaring when she makes such a big deal about what a scumbag Trump is, yet her drinking buddy accepted an illegal donation from Trump then refused to prosecute him for Trump University fraud claims. Can't wait for Sunny to discuss this weekend's picks by Trump. His cabinet is 'a thousand shades of white' (as MSNBC guest and political pundit Jennifer Rubin pointed out) except for Scott Turner - who's the token black man nominated as HUD Secretary (and as Symone Sanders pointed out - there hasn't been a white person in the HUD spot since Clinton, in 1992; always filled by a minority). Sunny's head will explode.

“There seems to be a lot of talk about the dessert I requested for my birthday show,” Goldberg said on her Instagram page. “I never mentioned the name of the bakery or the location.”
Golderg’s video is an apparent response to the backlash from the Staten Island community and borough politicians demanding that the comedienne apologize for criticizing the bakery in front of a national audience.

I think Sunny needs to do some research on Latino voters and black male voters for this past election. Maybe she can spend her vacation from 'The View' visiting 'barbershops' in NYC, Miami, Atlanta, Baltimore,...talk to these men, and ask why they went with Trump this time. Then again, she may not like the answers.
by Anonymous | reply 150 | November 27, 2024 1:01 PM |
Thank you. I live in NYC and a few weeks before the election a friend said all of the men at his mostly black barbershop were talking about how they planned to vote for Trump and making sexist comments about Kamala. Sunny’s narrative that black men would vote for Kamala because they’re raised in matriarchal households was ridiculous. Does she really think black men are immune from misogyny? Has she never seen a rap video?
by Anonymous | reply 151 | November 27, 2024 1:43 PM |
Sunny knows exactly what she's saying. It's her script and she'll never stray from her narrative. She's a stubborn woman who constantly portrays black and brown people as angels come down from heaven to save the USA.
It was uncomfortable watching her after the election. She refused to listen to reason, and she still portrays the black and Hispanic voter as some Democratic loyalist which is not true. The other day she had to get in her dig about black women being the cornerstone of the Democratic party as if everyone else (especially those "uneducated white women") were all Trumpers voting for RACISM. Or the assertion voters didn't vote for Kamala because of "cultural resentment." She needs a new script, one preferably written in the real word not her psychotic mind.

Also, their constant usage of the "N" word did not go over well with many black folks, either.

A quick estimation - all that crap Greta was pedaling probably totaled around $20,000 - taking into consideration the 'faux' Black Friday deals and free shipping. If you're going to hawk that crap on television for two segments, for God's sake LEARN what you're so 'excited about' and get rid of the blue index cards. She comes across as nothing more than disingenuous with this shit. I said it before - she needs to learn the products like Adam Glassman does ("Oprah's favorites"). Even Bobby Flay knew what he was talking about with all that food on the table (and I'm sure those were not all his ideas). She's got to learn - if you're going into a store and looking for expensive Christmas gifts, you don't want the sales person reading off dummy cards.

Abby has aged terribly. She was so attractive before she left five years ago. It was interesting how eager she seemed to be to agree with most of what Rachel said about how to look happily married to the public, yet you're no longer happy in the marriage and it's time to quit. I wonder what's going on in her marriage ?
Overall, I did like when she was a host on the show, and wish she'd return and replace Sara.
As for Matt, he made sure he kissed Whoopi's ass and mentioned her movie 'Ghost' .

Fucking Whoopi yelling and arguing with the guest, Charlamagne tha God about the Biden pardon and taking over the entire segment. STFU. Now she demands a kiss and make up moment. Biden pardoned his son and did fucking lie about the pardon. If you verbally assert you will not pardon your son, then turn around and pardon your son - THAT'S THE DEFINITION OF A LIE. You changed your mind? You still went against your spoken word.
Sunny the law-abiding former federal prosecutor is still rationalizing Biden's pardon. I have lost my patience with these two.

I haven’t even seen today’s show but what R179 said is exactly what I complained about upthread—Sunny is going through mental gymnastics to justify everything the Dems do and Whoopi shuts down every conversation with a long winded rant that’s barely coherent. That’s my favorite Whoopi-ism—that she didn’t object to Biden being pushed out but that it should have been done privately and not in public. Bitch, the reason it became public is because the private pressure wasn’t working. The only reason it went public is because he was being a stubborn asshole who continued to insist he was fine despite us all seeing otherwise in that disaster of a debate.

Some observations of today's show...
1. CTG starts off his interview by saying he's from a home where his mother was a Jehovah Witness, and his grandmother was a Baptist, and believes in God. In times like this, you have to pray the 'Serenity Prayer'. Everyone - including Joy - nodded their head in agreement with him.
What happened to the Joy Behar who would mock her cohost Elisabeth Hasslebeck, whenever she would bring up her faith in God, and her belief in prayer ? What happened to Atheist Behar, who would counter EH and say she doesn't believe in God or a Higher Power, and people praying is talking to yourself ? Why didn't Joy counter CTG with these long held beliefs, instead of nodding in agreement with him today ? I guess because he has a more intimidating physical appearance than little EH ever had.
2. CTG stated his argument of why he was not currently aligned with Biden and Democrats, and Whoopi challenged him. But she was awfully kind in her challenge against him, as a matter of fact completely 'kind' in comparison to when she argues with white men who don't align themselves with Biden and Dems (past guests Chris Christie, Ted Cruz, etc.
I don't even know where to begin with Sunny - she sat there and smiled and laughed and engaged with CTG when he called out she made the Trump campaign ads, his opposing thoughts on Biden, and saying she had to apologize for her mistakes on some of the republicans last week (she pointed out they were legal notes, not apologies). Why is it when Christie is sitting next to Sunny and speaks to her like this, she stares down at the table with her pursed lips. No laughing, no smiling, no engaging with him ? I just wonder...

So as one of the five cohosts (in addition to moderating), you don't think Whoopi should participate in the interview segments with guests and offer her 'view' like the other four cohosts ? And she didn't 'attack' anyone - she gave her opinion, which was different than his. That's not an attack, that's been the blueprint of the show since 1997.
But you are correct R194 - you are one of those 'silly people'.

And shut the fuck up Sara - this assassination WILL change things - it's prompting a discussion. She speaks so authoritatively over a non-substantive statement. I literally could care less about anything white girl blonde Sara has to say - she just goes with the wind and thinking that saying something contrary makes her smart. Meghan McCain is once again speaking out against her former employer and colleagues in a new interview in which she called the ABC talk show “the most dramatic show on the planet.”
In a new interview on 2 Way Tonight, the former View host explained why the ladies on the show are sometimes made to read legal notices on the air, which, according to her account, regularly causes tension behind the scenes. She alleged that it is a way for ABC to protect itself from possible legal retaliation for the things they say on the air.
Offering “a little behind-the-scenes gossip about the show,” McCain said that having to read a legal note on the show is “dramatic because it means you have said something on TV that is a lie and that you could be sued for—that ABC News could be sued for.”

Let's see what Sunny Hostin's reaction will be about the new legal allegations against Jayzee.
Is she going to say she's "profoundly disturbed" by the allegations he raped a 13 year old girl in 2000 ? As a former federal and state prosecutor who - as she has said in the past - has 'prosecuted hundreds of child sex abuse cases', will she offer unbiased legal comments about Beyonce's husband ?

Whoopi's new Trump mantra repeated ad nauseam over the past few weeks: "I'm not worried." His mantra is "Fight, fight, fight." What is wrong with this woman? Trump is telling us he thinks his perceived enemies should be jailed and she just sits there spewing her pearls of idiocy. Whoopi, as Maya Angelou famously said, when someone shows you who they are believe them the first time.
His latest grift: Not surprisingly called Fight, Fight, Fight, $199 for a couple bucks worth of toxic chemicals available in cologne and perfume form courtesy of China. God Bless America.
Did Whoopi just say we all have at least one relative in prison? I've never had in prison. Always through her prism. Great moderator yet not.
Daniel Penny NOT GUILTY. I wonder if they'll discuss this before the end of the show. Sunny will be livid.

Sunny always used to speak about her fear of her son being taken out by a white cop. Statistically he's more likely to be taken out by a black criminal. Would she have been so supportive of Neely if her son had been trapped in that car? Would she have told him to carry an extra sandwich in case a mentally unbalanced person started screaming for food and water? Would she have advised him to give the guy a hug when he began pacing up and down the car yelling, he wasn't afraid to die and began threatening to kill those in the car?
She and Whoopi were ridiculous today. Whoopi with her heavy sighs and putting down Penny for celebrating his vindication after a hellish year. I don't blame the guy. They intentionally tried to cast him in a bad light while they played a long clip of Andre Zachary, Neely's father, calling the system crooked complete with photos of a much younger Neely in MJ get-up. Yeah, that kid in the photo was not the same man on the train that day.
Now the father is suing Penny in civil court. Where the hell was he when his son was tossed into foster care after the murder of his mother at the hands of her boyfriend? He let that kid down but now he's front and center to stir unrest all in the name of the almighty buck. But hey, Whoopi and Sunny obviously have their priorities, and it has nothing to do with fairness or justice.
by Anonymous | reply 216 | December 10, 2024 6:49 PM |
Sara was definitely on Penny's side, but she had to choose her words carefully or face the wrath of Sunny. Twice she mentioned that Neeley punched a 67 year old woman in the face on the subway in a past incident, and both times Sunny dismissed that with "But no one knew about that when this happened". So that makes it okay ?

Last night on MSNBC, there was talk about how important 'border control' was in this election. The newest results from the election shows only 20% of registered Latino voters voted for Harris, while a whopping 80% voted for Trump - something which has stumped the Democrats. 'Closing the border' was the prominent issue for Latinos in America.
So will Sunny ever admit that Latinos are the main fault for Harris losing ? She wants to spew that Black Women were the majority who voted for Harris, but continues to ignore Black Men went with Trump and Latinos went with Trump (she tries to blame white people).

Then we have Republican Ana up on her Evita balcony over-acting and building to a screeching crescendo with every Trump comment.
Over to Alyssa, a Republican who also happens to be on his enemies list. Fun times for a woman going through IVF treatment. No stress there.
And finally, Sara who some here hate because she has the audacity to be not only white but also a natural blonde. So of course, anything she has to say is dismissed or is accused of coming from a viewpoint of "white privilege." SSDD.

The major ass-kissing of Whoopi in the opening of Hot Topics was nauseating. She never said 'thank you' for the compliments to any one of them. She just sat their smugly, since she was expecting the ass kissing. I guess it's in her contract she'd get a full-on ass kisstreatment from all four of them before the show goes on hiatus in another week. I'm most shocked that Sara didn't say she's 'hearing Tony buzz' for Whoopi. Sounds like Sunny had to have a bottle of wine to sit through the show ?
Once again they are promoting the 'weight loss' injection drugs as they did this past summer. Yes, Whoopi was 300 pounds two years ago and now she's about half that size all because of the 'miracle drug' Mounjaro.
What she and the others ARE NOT mentioning is the fact that you have to stay on the drug the rest of your life - not just till you hit your goal weight. Nor are they mentioning the side effects some people are now suffering such as pancreatitis, hypoglycemia, gall bladder disease, and possible thyroid cancer. This is the cast which covers their asses with 'legal notes' after talking about controversial legal issues. They should be more honest and transparent when discussing these drugs.
by Anonymous | reply 232 | December 12, 2024 11:07 PM |
R232 - they're all quiet because Ana and Sunny are also on it. They were MUCH bigger 2 years ago as well - Whoopi wasn't the only one taking it.

So Darlene Love stopped singing her signature XMas song on The View because the producers wanted her to share her song with other performers?
Whoopi or Sunny couldn't stand up for this legend and demand she get treated with respect she deserves? Interesting.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"When I did The View, they wanted me to sing with other people ... not just sing the song by myself, but sing it with other people," Love recalls, saying that creative direction "started limiting me, the whole song. And then people didn't like that."
Despite this, Love maintains there was "no animosity" involved in leaving The View, while lamenting "I think it's funny ... with me, people don't think I'm supposed to move on."
"I was not unhappy. I mean, I love all the ladies. As a matter of fact, me and Whoopi [Goldberg] are very good friends. It was just a time, I think, just to make that decision," she shares. "You don't want nobody making any kind of decisions for your career. I've done it now for 60 years, so I ought to know."

JFC is there a more uninformed person on TV than Whoopi? Today she said there was a constitutional age limit for the Presidency. Upon learning there isn’t, she exclaimed “then what was all that talk about someone being too old?” Does she even bother to attend the Hot Topics meetings? Because her contributions always show that she puts zero effort into being prepared for whatever is being discussed.

Sunny attended the White House Christmas party and of course had her photo taken next to a painting of Obama. Ana then one-upped her by saying she attended Kamala's holiday party.
Unbelievable. Whoopi declares there is an age limit on the presidency. No one corrects her until it's Ana's turn to speak. She then explains to Whoopi there is an age requirement but no age limit. Then idiot Whoopi says well then why does everybody bring it up? Maybe because Biden and Trump are carbon dated. Fucking moron should be replaced with someone who has a working understanding of politics and current events.

I didn’t say I think it’s beneath the dignity of the court. But it Amy Coney Barrett was on stage making a fool of herself, do you think the ladies of The View would find it as endearing? My point is that they’re total hypocrites.
by Anonymous | reply 250 | December 16, 2024 5:04 PM |
And my point is that it is a false equivalency when the men on the court are so publicly corrupt.
Amy made a fool of herself when she lied about Stare Decisis and then shit canned Roe as settled law.
Again, a False Equivalency.
More like Governor Tim Walz doing a video on changing a car water pump.

I love that Cunt Sunny was snubbed by Kamala. I can't believe the white house would even invite her after she helped torpedo the campaign. Kamala is less petty than me because I would have banned her smug ass STAT.

Whoopi is a moron. Biden was force to step down because he has dementia or altzeimers. Not because hes old.
by Anonymous | reply 253 | December 16, 2024 5:14 PM |
You can’t tell me Sunny isn’t feeling a certain way about the Kamala-Ana friendship. At the beginning of the campaign , Sunny clearly thought she was going to be Queen Bee but Ana strutted right past her and got into Kamala’s inner circle without breaking a sweat.
R252 Jill probably made sure Sunny got invited because of that fiasco. There has been a noticeable ick in the air between the Biden Harris coalition.
by Anonymous | reply 254 | December 16, 2024 5:29 PM |
R247, could be. I only half listen to this show anymore. But I did hear Alyssa say she acts like a middle-aged woman when surveying what's going on in her neighborhood.

Do they all live in the suburbs?
by Anonymous | reply 256 | December 16, 2024 7:41 PM |
I love the fact that Ana made it crystal clear she went to the Kamala Christmas party this past weekend, the one which only 'close friends and family' were invited to. Sunny must've shit a brick sitting there - she went to the Kamala Christmas party the week before where (it seems) just about 'everybody' could attend.
Sunny can't wait for her 'college kids' to come home for the holidays. Maybe she'll sit them down and have 'the difficult conversation' with them about the dangers of attending 'freak-offs' hosted by Black male music moguls ?

R256 Joy and Sara both live in Manhattan apartments. Joy also has a summer home in the Hamptons.
Anna lives in an apartment in Miami. I believe she said she also has a place in Manhattan.
Sunny lives in Greenwich County, CT in an old farmhouse. Not sure what town in the county she lives in, but Greenwich county has the most wealthy zipcodes in the country.
Last I heard on the show, Whoopi has her farmhouse home in VT but also keeps a residence in NJ, close to Manhattan.
by Anonymous | reply 258 | December 16, 2024 11:01 PM |
Sara moved to NJ a few years ago. I think to Short Hills?
by Anonymous | reply 259 | December 16, 2024 11:18 PM |
R258, you couldn't be more off.
Sara moved to the NJ suburbs. She and her family reside in a house.
Ana and her husband have a house not an apartment, in Miami.
Sunny lives in Purchase, NY which is in Westchester County. And keeping in line with Sunny's race obsession I believe it's an upscale community but racially diverse.

R260 I guess I haven't kept up in the past couple of years. Thanks for the update.

How do they all get to work every morning?
by Anonymous | reply 262 | December 17, 2024 3:24 AM |
R261, you're welcome. I guess if you don't watch regularly you don't pick up little bits of info they drop during Hot Topics. Sometimes they show photos, like Ana did earlier today and it's easy to tell she lives in a house.
R262, I believe the show provides a driver for each of the co-hosts.

And Abby Huntsman must be living in NYC in order for a producer to call her to fill in on a moment's notice.
I thought she moved back to Utah to work on daddy's last Campaign?
by Anonymous | reply 265 | December 17, 2024 4:29 AM |
Abby going to work for her dad’s campaign was just an excuse for her to get away from Meghan.

I am beginning to worry about Sarah.
She has changed her makeup.
Is she is beginning to look like a Fox/MAL bimbo?
I worry for her lips...
by Anonymous | reply 267 | December 17, 2024 7:33 PM |
I worry about Sarah's hair. It often looks as if she walked 40 blocks to work on a hot, humid day.

When they were discussing Santa, and talking to their kids about Santa, I was waiting for Sunny to tell us when she had 'the conversation' about Santa with her kids, and explained to them that black Santa visits black families, Latino Santa visits Latino families, and mixed Santa visits mixed families. She disappointed me.
I was also waiting for Sara to tell Tyler Perry she's been hearing 'Oscar buzz' for his new movie. She disappointed me.
Whoopi said 'If you can't read it, you shouldn't be eating it'. There are those who agree, and also say 'If you can't read it, you shouldn't be injecting yourself with it to lose weight.'
by Anonymous | reply 269 | December 17, 2024 11:23 PM |
R269, may I add if you can't read the damn teleprompter or the fucking cards in your hands you shouldn't be moderating a talk show.

A day of idiocy and ass-kissing. What Joy? She's now saying Biden should have retired earlier so they could hold primaries for a Dem nom in '24. But Joy you always insisted since you were the same age, he was more than capable of doing another four years.
Whoopi, Joy and Sunny oblivious as always when the Dems begin to move back to the middle with Gerry O'Connell as head of the Oversight Committee while AOC twists in the wind. No Joy, AOC is not another FDR. The only thing they have in common is they're both referred to by their initials.
Kerry Washington comes to kiss the ring. Bow-down to Whoopi complete with photos and two segments. One too many.
Nikki Glaser also gets two segments because part of it is devoted to kissing Whoopi's ass about hosting duties complete with photos. I can imagine the pre-interview questions with the producers harassing the guests to come up with a six degrees of Whoopi affiliation. Now Whoopi once again brings the convo to a dead halt with her pearls of wisdom for Nikki and her upcoming gig as host of The Golden Globes. She's always trying to relive her glory years through C-List guests who get booked on the show.
Heh, Alyssa and Sunny paired again for the 12 Days of Whatever giveaway. Play nice, girls.
WTF with this weird Boston Celtics dance to Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree. Have I had a stroke?
by Anonymous | reply 271 | December 18, 2024 4:58 PM |
Whoopi is insufferable. She ends every topic by loudly jumping in to shut down whatever is being said with some nonsensical rant that's delivered as if it is the one true opinion. Meanwhile in reality her ramblings are barely coherent and just reinforce how ill informed, ill prepared, and ill suited she is for this show. And let's not even get into the fact that while the others all happily participate in ancillary activities related to the show, Whoopi acts as if they're lucky to have her. I wish they'd send her packing just to see the full on fucking meltdown she'd have in the press.
by Anonymous | reply 272 | December 18, 2024 5:11 PM |
Watched the first segment of the show today. When they came back from commercial and has Kerry Washington on, off went the tv.
by Anonymous | reply 273 | December 18, 2024 5:47 PM |
I read a comment elsewhere that put Whoopi down and the other commenters jumped on this person insisting Whoopi was by far the "biggest star" at the table. Buy a fucking clue. She's an EGOT former A-Lister who couldn't get arrested when Barbara took pity on her and gave her the job.
Of course she's the biggest star at the table, it's a fucking daytime talk show hosted by political talking heads (Alyssa) Journalists (Sara) Comic relief (Joy) and Attorneys (Sunny, Ana) And then there's the has-been know-it-all who is too damn arrogant to bother keeping up with the news.
I wonder what the other women think when she goes off on one of her ignorant tangents full of half-truths and misinformation. They just sit there acting like school kids while the teacher spews forth. You can see they know she's once again putting her foot in her mouth but they're either too polite or too afraid to correct her. At least Ana stepped up the other day to explain to her there is no age limit for POTUS. Please tell us again about the Holocaust, oh wise teacher. I guess she was given the role of moderator to appease her huge ego because she is so not moderator material.

I recall years ago Whoopi saying she would give Joy a kidney because it was Joy who suggested Barbara Walters hire Whoopi for the show.
by Anonymous | reply 275 | December 18, 2024 6:44 PM |
I can't believe they devoted four time slots over two days to promote the Tyler Perry movie. Why not have Perry and Washington on TOGETHER on one day and do two time slots ? Thank you, Kerry, for smooching Whoopi's ass - we know it's in the instructions on the table in the green room.
It looked rather awkward when Nikki Glaser came to the table and everyone there guffawed at everything she said (Sara had to stretch her head back and let out a hearty laugh so we can see the roof of her mouth). The only one not laughing was the head comedienne at the table: Whoopi. She sat there observing, with her chin in her hands. She wasn't finding Nikki all that funny.
A message to Sunny: Thanks for telling us what 'young Democrats want' and how AOC wants to deliver. But let's get to the nitty-gritty: tell us why Latinos decided to vote for Trump instead of Harris, and did so in droves. Take a look at those stats and get back to us.
Hats off to the cute twunk dancing with the Celtics dancers. Hopefully, he's making money as an exotic dancer at gay clubs and doing some 'escort' work as well.

I loved that when Sunny said "crime is down," Sara responded with "but that's not people's lived experience." Sunny is always quick to point out that she knows best on issues of race due to her own "lived experience," which she uses to shut down any disagreement. Naturally, she just grimaced and said nothing in response to Sara here. Meanwhile, "lived experience" may be one of the dumbest wokeisms of all time. What experiences aren't lived experiences? It's a stupid and redundant phrase.
by Anonymous | reply 279 | December 19, 2024 5:26 AM |
Sunny is a huge defender of bail reform. It's all about repeat offenders who commit a crime then walk out of the police station an hour later to re-offend. She knows damn well what is happening all over NYC, yet she plays dumb because bail reform benefits minorities.
I was watching the news earlier, I believe Hochul is sending in hundreds from the National Guard into the subways. They were interviewing a woman who rides the subway, the reporter told her crime was down. She said well it doesn't feel that way. Heh.

Other people's 'lived experiences' are not mine nor yours. They are experienced by other people, but not by me so it doesn't make it 'my lived experience' nor my experience at all.
by Anonymous | reply 281 | December 19, 2024 1:38 PM |
You can replace “lived experience” with just “experience” and it means exactly the same thing.

Frankenstein episode. Stitched together complete with disappearing and reappearing co-hosts. Whoopi is on today and then not and then on again. Same with Ana. I don't believe they announce "Coming up live on The View" anymore. I also don't see the pre-recorded message as they sit down at the table. I wonder if they lose viewers if the viewers realize it's not a live.
Jamie Lee Curtis who rails against the Beauty Complex looks amazingly refreshed. Maybe it's just The View makeup team who perform miracles on a daily basis.
Ana brought Cha Cha with her. I wonder if she has to crate that poor dog in storage during the flight.
Sunny has Winner and Loser glasses made up for game night. Tell me her kids don't have nervous tics up the wazoo.
Black Santa. Where's Megyn Kelly when you need her?
Jordin Sparks singing and talking. I haven't a clue what the hell is going on.
Photos of the crew. More than a few gay couples.
I read Darlene Love bailed on her annual tradition of singing at The View because they wanted her to sing Christmas, Baby Please Come Home with other popular artists. Nope. Off to Jimmy Fallon!
Merry Christmas!

r283, it seems that you should stop watching TheV if it creates such agita.
Save yourself and change the channel.

They should have just let Darlene perform the song solo without the co hosts cheesing in the background i hate that.

R284 If you listened to her answer their questions (can't blame you if you didn't) she said something about finding her power, owning herself and speaking her truth in the course of the past ten years. She left me scratching my head, asking 'what the fuck?'
