R108, Yes, the approval ratings for George W. Bush actually started to drop not long after he won his 2nd term in November 2004 and they never went back up. It didn't take long for his numbers to tank so badly that Democrats won big in the 2006 Midterms. And by 2008 Bush had become so toxic that his low numbers made it very hard for John McCain and the rest of the Republican ticket, leading to a big Obama win and many other Dem wins.
