Zuni Cafe in San Francisco

I'm making the famous roasted chicken and bread salad tonight. I opened a nice bottle of wine. I figure after the rough last few days, we need a little luxury.

A mission burrito was too hard for ya?!

I’ve been to Zuni Cafe, but I don’t remember what I had. Does that make me a terrible person?

Knock yourself out, doll.

Eating is one of life's great pleasures.

This warrants a thread AND a pole??? No!

I took my sister for her birthday a few months ago. The staff was so sweet. The chicken is always worth it.

I made it at home using the ATK recipe.

by Anonymousreply 6November 12, 2024 11:06 PM

Yes, i've had it there & made it at home, also using the ATK recipe - which inexplicably leaves out the pinenuts.

The most memorable thing about it at the restaurant was that we were seated next to a woman who kept up a steady monologue about her personal troubles while her lunch companion sat mutely drinking wine.

Truly a torrent of selfish talk.

Flight of oysters and a bottle of Sancerre, followed by the Burger and a Merlot. Pretty much the perfect meal at Zuni Cafe. Don;t get me started on the loss of South Park Cafe - my late 80's local. Then came the Tech-bros and it was all over.

I’ve been to Zuni Cafe but I’ve never been to me.

by Anonymousreply 15November 13, 2024 1:18 AM

I've been there a number of times, but not recently.

by Anonymousreply 16November 13, 2024 2:39 AM

I've eaten there, but it was not memorable.
