[quote] Isn't all ringwork contagious???
From article: The fungus is unusual in that it seems to primarily spread through close sexual contact, something only rarely seen with other forms of ringworm.

Which doesn’t mean it couldn’t be spread in a different way…

Fucking gross.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | November 12, 2024 6:30 PM |
wait for it. as climate changes, conditions for most disease causing organisms become more favorable. along with he anti-vaxers now in power, we're going to go back to the early 1800s in medicine, languishing on rusty carts waiting for aspirin to be invented lol.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | November 12, 2024 6:44 PM |
Just put a leech on it, it'll be fine.

I’m all for sexual liberation but the gay community is taking it to extremes and are going to produce a new HIV soon with the way they’re carrying on post-PrEP. They’re out of control with fucking thousands of randos a year without condoms. Disease breeds in that sort of environment. I was a child during the HIV crisis, so I don’t have some residual PTSD, but I do see where this is heading. I’m bracing for the news that gay men are suddenly dropping like flies over some mysterious new illness. Monogamy wasn’t some patriarchal concept. People knew that promiscuity spreads disease. It’d be great if we could all fuck without repercussions but the fact remains disease is easily spread through it just like getting a cold from kissing someone. Monkeypox should have been a wake up call but sadly it wasn’t.

T13 this new ringworm spread from SE Asia, by female sex workers. Get a life.

Straight people dropped like flies with Covid but they fought any mitigation measures like masks and vaccines.

I can even imagine what would happen if monkeypox comes back during this conservative administration. Gays will be living in hell.

by Anonymous | reply 20 | November 13, 2024 5:54 AM |
My old roommate that died from AIDS would joke about an old lady saying to him,
“They ought to round up all you queers and put you on an island!”
And he replied, “They did- It’s called Manhattan!”

r13 "I’m bracing for the news that gay men are suddenly..." denied healthcare.
You should also brace for the news that our new administration will figure out a way to deny healthcare to gay men.

In the US, COVID was worse than HIV/AIDS. More people died of COVID in 2 years than have died of AIDS in 40 years.

R27 read the damn news …it started with female sex workers, in Asia.
Dear up your ass…

I would have posted that I have treated people with ring worm and it was not really a big deal. But the treatment resistant ring worm that I read about over a year ago sounded different. Pretty gastly in fact. . Lots of sores some pain don’t remember how much , and o lots of itching, a few months treatment, and these were mostly in mouth area, penis area, the ass area.
Not deadly but would put a crimp in dating for 3-4 months. Allegedly highly contagious , difficult to treat , and mostly passed thru sex with these recent men but it’s passed thru touch so it’s not always going to be sex..
The outbreaks I read about last year were among gay men in Paris. Another was with female sex workers in Asia or Africa I never read how either of those played out.
No one will care about this , likely not even the new admin, as long as this outbreak like monkey pox and aids remains among gay men. Let’s hope no first grader or a person getting medical care gets it on the arm from a gay teacher or nurse who has drug resistant sexually transmitted ring worm. I think the new admin will have a much different approach to something like this than a dem admin would.

r27 "it was spreading m2m and for good reason"
What do you mean by this?
by Anonymous | reply 34 | November 13, 2024 10:08 PM |
R31
of course an airborne infection that you could get just by being near someone in the lift is going to have a lot more opportunity to spread than something that needs people to have sex, use iv drugs , in utero or receiveing infected blood to become infected.
Covid was really easy to catch. Most Americans had no real chance of acquiring aids.

by Anonymous | reply 39 | November 14, 2024 1:51 AM |
It appears there were 13 cases of this sexually transmitted Rx resistant ring worm in France last year. This was reported in 2023. 12 of those cases were among gay men,
If the reporting is accurate, and at this point it might not be, this does not seem to be spreading all that fast.
As a side note the US man that had that great vacation in Europe meeting new people his case of ring worm , legs buttocks penis, took 4 and a half months to clear up
by Anonymous | reply 40 | November 14, 2024 2:11 PM |
Interesting that many of the articles on line refer to it now as a genital fungus in the headline not ringworm as such. I wonder if that is insightful far as where most of the sores are found or just piss poor editing.

by Anonymous | reply 42 | November 14, 2024 5:08 PM |
Ringworm or a nasty fungal rash is small potatoes.
The proposed head of HHS which over sees CDC has blamed popper sniffing drug taking men , men who have been feminized ( made gay) by chemicals in the air, as the source of aids, Not any damn virus.
He said it have no idea what he believes today
You hardcore barebackers are going to be in for one hell,of a future ride,

by Anonymous | reply 46 | November 14, 2024 10:19 PM |
R44 absolutely. And thanks for reading them. This is some truly amazing shit. HHS, CDC, PHS, NIH, DOJ are in absolute shock today. Maybe like no time in modern history.
A man who thinks poppers caused aids will now have CDC and NIH reporting to him. A man who thinks gay men are the result of bad chemicals will now have CDC and NIH reporting to him.
This bares mentioning a few more times so skip over would be my advice.
