THREAD: Crazy things Trump is demanding
Let’s put them all into one thread.
He’s saying that whomever wants to be the next head of the Senate must allow recess appointments. These are appointments the president makes that escape getting Senate-confirmed for a long while. Basically he’s demanding he be allowed to appoint people to his cabinet, for example, that likely wouldn’t get Senate approval in the first place.

He wants to pass a law that says nonprofits that support terrorism get no funding. There is no definition of supporting terrorism so it can be anything

He is demanding that the GOP block any Dem judicial nominations during the lame duck session

And SCOTUS said they were unconstitutional. This time SCOTUS will approve of them

We said democracy was at risk. We were right.
This is awful. Depressing, maddening, disgusting. He is going to dismantle the government, which is not a good thing.
"Burn it all down" is not how to govern.

The court actually broadened when it can be done. However, they also ruled that Congress is in session when it says it's in session, and since Congress was technically in session when Obama attempted to make recess appointments, his specific appointments were "unconstitutional". If Congress would agree to recess, which is what Trump is actually asking for, then there is no issue with him making recess appointments.
