I no longer believe any word that comes out of JoScar's mouth.

I haven't watched MJ since ten minutes on Wednesday morning. I had to hurl.

When Joe spends a significant time on religious topics and continuously tries to vindicate the Southern Baptists and the Evangelicals from their secular crimes, I GET ASS CRAMPS.

[The medical term for anal cramps is proctalgia fugax, which is a functional anorectal disorder that causes severe rectal pain in episodes]

Joe is a phony with all the talk about his granny and the PTL Club but he is worse.

If Anne Hathaway can convert to America's original protestant faith, and TRUE CHRISTIAN faith, in support of her gay brother, then Joe needs to convert. All this bullshit about his dad's funeral and bl;a bla bla that he is firm to the ORIGINAL Baptist Faith. Proctalgia fugax ALERT!

The Plantationn Baptist Church lost its soul when it criminalized abortion in the 70s. The Baptists were fine with being pro choice as they did not judge the sinner, they PRAYED for the sinner, and let Jesus judge, but the move to political power in subjugating women under the guise of dogma was a bit far-fetched. Now you can understand that Baptists created the Black church so slaves WOULD NOT KILL THEIR MASTERS.

Pity, that.

by Anonymousreply 3November 10, 2024 9:45 PM

I have a real problem with the people who were singing Kamala's praises on the morning of the 5th and then ripping her and the party on the 6th. Had she won those people would never, ever, had said one negative thing about her for the next few weeks. Once sworn in, it would have been open season of course.

I only respect the people making intelligent analysis of what may have gone wrong as I do get the sense that, had she won, they would have said she pulled it off in spite of *insert weakness in campaign* and provided an honest assessment of the campaign and how we could improve for 2028.

Needless to say, Joe makes my skin crawl and I don't trust that he is going to remain never Trump. There are a few personalities who were never Trump because they thought 2016 was a fluke. I can see them jumping skip now, sane washing him, and become raging Rs again because 'unity.'

by Anonymousreply 4November 10, 2024 10:46 PM

I'm finding I'm unable to watch MSNBC right now (or in the foreseeable future). Between the analyses of what went wrong, what the Dems should do next, and what Dump actually is doing, it's all dangerously depressing. I'll keep track of things through this thread. Thanks, OP.

by Anonymousreply 5November 11, 2024 1:14 AM

Katie Porter on the Ozempic?

by Anonymousreply 6November 11, 2024 1:22 AM

So the Mayor of Dearborn Michigan was just on. When asked why the people of his city went for Trump knowing that he plans another Muslim ban, he dodged the question and blamed Democrats not paying enough attention to them. Well good luck with that when Trump decided to turn on them. He has nothing to lose.

by Anonymousreply 7November 11, 2024 1:32 AM
I'm finding I'm unable to watch MSNBC right now

I know what you mean, but some of the best honest insightful stuff is actually the weekend crew Samone, Micheal Steele, Alicia Menendez. They had on some guy who's expected to have some roll in Trump admin. He was super extreme pissing off the two women by saying child care is a social problem not something the government should be paying people to take time off work. If prices go up because of tariffs, people need to get a better job. Micheal Steele pointed out we need to see this to know what we are up against, we need to understand how they think. So even something like child care to us has a whole different meaning to them.

by Anonymousreply 8November 11, 2024 1:39 AM
he dodged the question and blamed Democrats not paying enough attention to them.

Well, he will be asked to provide police assistance in removing them.

by Anonymousreply 9November 11, 2024 1:39 AM

The Muslims of Dearborn better not say shit when Bibi and Trump wipe Gaza off the map. If they try to get on MSNBC or they call Big Gretch they should be told they have 3 options. 1) Cry to Fox News 2) Call Trump 3) Put Jill Stein's picture on the milk carton and find her.

Did you know gay men put their tongues up there? That’s where doo doo goes!

They’re just nasty.

Nasty!

I know getting your ass pounded can be extremely hot, but if you've ever been fucked long, deep, and really slow, it's possibly one of the most curative experiences. For whatever ails you.

by Anonymousreply 12November 11, 2024 1:46 AM
he dodged the question and blamed Democrats not paying enough attention to them.

What exactly are they supposed to do in this worthless little town? Install diving boards on roofs to toss gay people off?

Are Democrats supposed to embrace a community that encourages book banning? And what attention did the Republicans give them?

Fuck them. Start not giving a shit like Republicans do and stop trying to make everyone happy. They don’t and they win. And you may just inspire your base to actually turn out to vote.

Also on MSNBC two Hispanic women whining about being deported and how "Americans" and people of California are going to need to put their bodies in the way to stop this.

As a Native Californian, I am done with this since you voted for Dump. I am not lifting a finger for MAGA voters. Not going to happen.

Nope. Not a chance. You voted for it. Off you go. And goodbye to the billionaires. So long to the young MAGAts leaving for Texas. Adios to the tech bros going to work from home in Wyoming. Auf Wiedersehen to the old MAGAts going to Arizona.

by Anonymousreply 19November 11, 2024 1:55 AM

As someone who lives in the same county as Salinas, CA (America's Salad Bowl), if Trump's mass deportations go into effect, people will become very very unhappy with the prices & availability of their produce.

by Anonymousreply 20November 11, 2024 2:02 AM

Especially tariff on produce from Chile.

by Anonymousreply 21November 11, 2024 2:04 AM

R20

And the problem will still be that people never quite understand cause and effect.

They won't blame Republicans or Trump's actions; somehow it will become the fault of Democrats. That's how we got here. Anyone with half a brain knew how all this worked, hence our high opinion of the nation's intelligence.

by Anonymousreply 22November 11, 2024 2:11 AM

R20 is correct. The country has no clue how much produce comes from the central part of CA which is huge swaths of land where illegal immigrants had pick fruit and other things that machines cannot do for less than minimum wage. All under the table, it's an open secret.

Where are they going to get millions to replaces them working in the hot desert sun doing back breaking work for minimum pay? Do you really think Gen Z is up to the task? No? Then get ready for prices to triple or quadruple before it's even worth doing the job by Americans used to decent pay.

by Anonymousreply 23November 11, 2024 2:12 AM

R20 He's gonna fuck up the economy Biden left him. Just wait. And the people who voted for him will have no one to blame but themselves when prices shoot up as his round 'em up and deport scheme gets underway. As 30% or 40% price increases at the supermarket start eating into their earnings, hating Mexicans and Central Americans will seem trivial. Could have kept things stable with a Harris administration, but no, that was unthinkable and "she didn't explain her policies enough." GTFOH.

by Anonymousreply 24November 11, 2024 2:30 AM

The Fox machine will find some way to pin it on Gavin Newsom.

by Anonymousreply 25November 11, 2024 2:34 AM

I’m still watching some MSNBC but avoiding all other news, at least for a while.

by Anonymousreply 26November 11, 2024 3:43 AM

R25 +1.

Yep, if they deport all the low wage labor, prices of produce from CA which supplies about 30% or more to the rest of the country are going to skyrocket. Dump will blame Newsom. Importing to compensate wont be cheap either as Trump will throw us into a tariff war.

by Anonymousreply 27November 11, 2024 3:44 AM

Thanks for the MSNBC thread support, OP/Caretaker.

Why ever was a nice, sensible person like you FF'd and issued a time out? You're not on my Ignore Ward, so you must be alright with me. Oh, wait ... I just answered my own question.

Answer: "nice, sensible person"

by Anonymousreply 28November 11, 2024 4:30 AM

So now Morning Joe is a bash the Democrats show?

by Anonymousreply 29November 11, 2024 12:37 PM

Joe always does that with his tired trope about "woke" culture. He's been repeating that tired theory for 20 years it seems. Same as Bill Maher who has really turned to the right and gets a more Republican audience that progressive one the last few years. Neither of those guy were actual Democrats. But they sure seem to know it all in their self appointed expert minds.

by Anonymousreply 30November 11, 2024 12:59 PM

R27

Here's a thought. - Newsom seems to give a shit and speaks the truth out loud and in public. When Trump [bold]does[/bold] trash Newsom, Newsom needs to be as ballsy and loud as he can be and whenever and wherever he can, blame Trump and explain exactly why. In a short concise message - Trump's policies did this and here's why you're suffering. Newsom seems to get media coverage. Learn from him.

Maybe hammering them with a simple explanation even the most ignorant can understand will get through. Hammer them.

Newsom (and some others) have no fucks left to give so the Democrats should try it.

There is some question as to how the media would or wouldn't report it. My point, I guess, would be for Dems to try being as angry and repetitive as the republicans.

by Anonymousreply 31November 11, 2024 1:12 PM

I like Newsom, but he's already said he's going to protect all immigrants. I just hope the stated dose not get flooded from the East from those fleeing from red states.

by Anonymousreply 32November 11, 2024 1:16 PM

Newsom is getting ready for 2028.

by Anonymousreply 33November 11, 2024 1:19 PM

I'm struggling watching any news show right now - even local news!

by Anonymousreply 34November 11, 2024 1:28 PM

Newsom and Trump are going to be trading jobs as soon as Dump get into office. Dump will threaten to hold federal funds and Newsom will deny Elon use of Vandenberg Space Force Base (yes it's really called that) where all his satellites launch from and use of his floating landing pads on the ocean. And it will all start over immigration.

by Anonymousreply 35November 11, 2024 1:29 PM

My partner is retired and watches MSNBC almost all day. From morning until around 6:00 PM

I try and tune it out, but can’t help to catch snippets (I work from)

The whole lineup starting with Morning Joe all sound like lame ducks. By the time programming gets to Nicole’s show, all I hear is Claire Mcc crackling away saying nothing really.

The whole network may be in for a shake up.

by Anonymousreply 36November 11, 2024 9:33 PM

Ugh Eddie Glaude.

by Anonymousreply 37November 11, 2024 10:44 PM

Well, as I posted above, I stopped watching MSNBC but thought if I tuned into Rachel tonight, maybe she'd make me feel better.

It was not to be. While in an earlier era I might have been encouraged by her outrage at all of Dump's corrupt new appointments, this time around I know he won't be stopped.

I tuned out.

by Anonymousreply 38November 12, 2024 2:29 AM

Maddow better try not to run 24 seconds into Lawrence's space again, or else he'll be coming for her wig.

by Anonymousreply 39November 12, 2024 3:13 AM

Thank you R38. I was just about to turn on Rachel, figured I'd check here first.

Back to old Mad Men scenes on YouTube.

by Anonymousreply 40November 12, 2024 3:33 AM

The first 30 minutes of Lawrence's show attempted to pull us back from the ledge by explaining this wasn't a textbook landslide victory for Trump and many of his appointees so far are MAGAt's, but not the feared mega-MAGA extremist fringe elememts was interesting to know. It's still going to be pure hell, but I feel a super teeny-tiny bit less apocalyptic. As a news junkie, I'm still trying to ease back into the news after last week and I'm glad I caught his segment.

They want to remain relevant. After all, even Marco says all the TV's in the Capitol gym are tuned to Morning Joe. It's not as if they weren't hypocrites to begin with.

Rashida needs to terminate these two sociopathic sycophants as soon as possible to salvage what little credibility MSNBC has left. Let them go to OANN.

by Anonymousreply 126November 18, 2024 10:23 PM

Not that it would matter, but what's the best way to let all the MSNBC hosts know that all of them are dead to me?

by Anonymousreply 127November 18, 2024 10:31 PM

Almost everyday Joe mentions Ronald Reagan. That's one sorry ass hero to have, Joe.

by Anonymousreply 128November 18, 2024 10:32 PM

There are MSNBC staff who read these threads. Also a few (Tim Miller and Mutha Eugenia Daniels at the very least) reporters and analysts.

by Anonymousreply 129November 18, 2024 10:52 PM

Even before the election my biggest problem with MSNBC and even CNN was they treated their viewers like they were Fox News viewers and MAGA supporters. Every show seemed like an attempt to convince us that Trump was a bad man and not to vote for him. We already knew that and were never going to vote for him. I am not sure what else they could have done, I don't work in entertainment or news, but what they were doing didn't work. I haven't watch any news since the election and will probably be cancelling my cable before the end of the year. MSNBC is dead to me.

by Anonymousreply 130November 19, 2024 12:32 AM

Had MSNBC and CNN tried the 'fair and balanced' approach, but lean Trump with more Trump supporters featured, which was the Fox news method, these threads would have been filled with criticism over attempting to normalize a candidate who wasn't normal at all. They couldn't do anything else to try to influence the election, it came down to the votes of the American electorate, who chose a delusional wannabe dictator and his cult-like political party to control all three branches of the government.

Don't count MSNBC out. Once the orange asshole takes office, starts fucking up which is pretty much a guarantee and going after outlets that are critical of him as 'fake news,' ratings will recover.

by Anonymousreply 131November 19, 2024 2:56 AM

Every time I think we're "winning" I tend to return to MSNBC. Next time, if next time ever comes, I'm not sure I will return. It's just easier to avoid TV news and get the bits you need here on DL threads. Also, I can avoid all those unbearable St. Jude's and ASPCA ads.
Also, I can avoid all those unbearable St. Jude's and ASPCA ads.

by Anonymousreply 133November 19, 2024 3:15 AM

I'll watch Nicole Wallace and Lawrence O'Donnell for their genuinely deep hatred for trump. The rest of them are full of hype and bullshit.

by Anonymousreply 134November 19, 2024 5:01 AM

I like Stephanie Ruhle. She’s grown on me.

by Anonymousreply 135November 19, 2024 5:44 AM
Don't count MSNBC out. Once the orange asshole takes office, starts fucking up which is pretty much a guarantee and going after outlets that are critical of him as 'fake news,' ratings will recover.

My fear is that, once Dump gets in, he will try to remove MSNBC and anything else he considers "opposition media" by pulling their broadcast licenses. Hopefully, the networks are already taking steps to battle back against that.

by Anonymousreply 136November 19, 2024 5:52 AM

I'ts not just Morning Joe, someone is going on at MSNBC. Just saw Stephani Ruhle give some last minute speech at the end about how she's going to focus more on the financial aspects of the coming administration, this is what the people voted for, bla, bla, bla.

I get the feeling that the suites at MSNBC have decided to turn to the right like CNN did about a year ago in a sad attempt to keep their ratings up. It's not going to work. People turned to MSNBC as an alternative to Fox, not to hear a Fox Light version of the new.

by Anonymousreply 137November 19, 2024 7:25 AM

R130 You're right, probably 90% of the viewers of MSNBC's programming already know that Trump is a sack of shit and unfit to be President. But their almost singular focus on driving that narrative is not without a purpose. I think they changed more than a few minds, provided almost daily new reasons that everyone should consider him a real danger, and motivated believers to do something about it.

It's a game of numbers, and Fox's brand of disinformation and propaganda is very effective. They relied on the lazy gullibility and tribalism of Americans with a taste for authoritarianism.

MSNBC's viewership will be back, as the Trump living nightmare starts to deliver all that it has promised. It's like that line from I, Claudius - Let all the poisons that lurk in the mud, hatch out. Or whatever.

by Anonymousreply 138November 19, 2024 10:23 AM

Fox and Friends are celebrating their demise. No one on the right has any love for MSNBC. The Joe and Mika thing just gave them tons of talking points about how the left is two faced lairs etc. They all talk about how Mika was just on the view in tears a week ago about Trump being Hitler, now she went to Mar-a-Lago.

That Morning Joe meets Trump stunt was a terrible decision. I dont know if it was Joe or the network management but whoever it was should be fired. The burned their core audience in a spectacular way. No back tracking is going to fix this and only an idiot would think kissing the ring would bring in new viewers from the right who despise MSNBC.

by Anonymousreply 139November 19, 2024 10:30 AM

The only way they could fix this is to fire Morning Joe love birds and bring in a truly progressive replacement. Someone or several people who are on the scale of Mehdi Hasan. Too bad they fired him. Maybe if they beg and kissed his ring for a change.

by Anonymousreply 140November 19, 2024 10:33 AM

Fuck that.

No one is going to watch a poor imitation of Faux News. 🤢

by Anonymousreply 144November 19, 2024 3:40 PM

I didn’t interpret Ruhle’s comment that way, r137. For a few months, she’s devoted the middle segment of her show to the economy and how Trump’s policies will impact the economy , usually having 2 correspondents from Bloomberg or CNBC to discuss that. It is usually the most vibrant part of the show-she loves discussing the economy.

I get the impression that instead of spending the majority of her show covering his antics, she is going to spend more time talking about the policies Trump is going to enact and how they impact people.

by Anonymousreply 145November 19, 2024 4:05 PM

r145, and golf and baseball and foooobahhhl

by Anonymousreply 146November 19, 2024 6:57 PM

You missed the point r145. It's not about what Ruhle is covering, it reeks of some top down decree from MSNBC to shift away from attacking Trump. A faux shift to the center.

by Anonymousreply 147November 19, 2024 11:27 PM

by Anonymousreply 156November 20, 2024 6:27 AM

Biggest backfire ever. Even their rivals are mocking them.

These two are so pathetic and wince worthy.

The political pendulum swings every four years but no one will forget the cowardice and sniveling behavior of these two.

Great opportunity for MSNBC to do something new with their morning slot. These two are toast.

by Anonymousreply 157November 20, 2024 6:42 AM

Mika's rationalization, "But nearly 80 million Americans...sent Donald Trump back to the White House with their vote". Trump won with 76 million, 2.5 million more than Harris, no great mandate. Trump's popular vote victory is the 6th smallest margin in history. For reference, Biden won in 2020 with over 81 million.

Joe and Mika were just clearly scared shitless. Hopefully, Trump will take the opportunity of their cowering to publically humiliate them further.

by Anonymousreply 158November 20, 2024 7:22 AM

[bold]Hey Rashida Jones, get a clue, the reason you are bleeding viewers is not because you are too far to the left, it's because you are going too far to the right. You are not going to swap in viewers from Fox to a Fox Light version of the same content.

by Anonymousreply 159November 20, 2024 10:46 AM

MSNBC needs to expand their market share.

That is the problem.

by Anonymousreply 164November 20, 2024 2:31 PM

Mika is trying too hard this morning, the bit with Molly Jung was cringe worthy. John Heilerman must have gotten the memo to fall in line. Do the guests get that much for appearing on MJ that they are going along with these 2 nitwits?

by Anonymousreply 165November 20, 2024 2:33 PM

Surprised John Heilemann would fall in line.

by Anonymousreply 166November 20, 2024 2:42 PM

by Anonymousreply 167November 20, 2024 2:44 PM

If Heilemann would suck JoScar's dick, why not. It's business.

Mika must feel like Judy being fucked by Loius B.

by Anonymousreply 168November 20, 2024 2:44 PM

Why on earth do Joe & Mika have a 4-hour show? Not worth it. Cut them back to 1 hour and get some other people in there.

by Anonymousreply 169November 20, 2024 7:54 PM

Katy Tur, a step above Joe + Mika.

by Anonymousreply 170November 20, 2024 8:24 PM

This was the only time Heilemann has been early/on-time for the show, and he took heat for it. I watched the first five minutes to see if there was any shame or remorse among the hosts & guests. Nope. Don't know why I expected there would be.

by Anonymousreply 171November 20, 2024 8:36 PM

Lol @ R170. Truth!

by Anonymousreply 172November 20, 2024 8:42 PM

Yeah, what was that about, Mika was being really cunty about it. Like she was scolding a child turning it into a teaching moment. The only problem is the teach needs to look in the mirror first. Not a word about their ratings drop or the 99% of social media trashing therm for their knee bending to Dump. She's projecting her feelings of "you fucked up" onto her guests.

by Anonymousreply 192November 22, 2024 5:53 AM
I don’t get the “spinning off” deal,

Basically what it means is NBC is selling off the news potion of it's content MSNBC in an attempt to avoid Trump from targeting them with lawsuits and other nefarious attacks. They will go back to just being an entertainment network where most of their money is made. That way, if Trump attempts to take down news shows who say anything bad about him, he wont kill the whole network.

It's similar to people who people who buy 5 rental properties and creating a separate LLC for each one. It's kind of a bad sign that big companies expect Trump admin to really throw sand in the gears of actual news broadcasts or even trying to turn them into a form of state TV.

by Anonymousreply 193November 22, 2024 6:04 AM
Liberalism is becoming increasingly taboo

Taboo? And what the fuck does Liberalism have to do with it? The point is Trump won the popular vote by a 1.5% margin, one of the smallest in history. No mandate regardless of how you try to spin it.

by Anonymousreply 215November 24, 2024 9:29 PM

R215 I agree that based on the numbers Trump's win is not a mandate - which of course means nothing to him. But because he is so obviously unfit, an inveterate liar, holds extreme views that defy reason and decency, is an aging criminal, and all-around rotten human being, he should be expected to go down in a landslide. In that respect, his win is a mandate, signaling that the country has lost its way.

by Anonymousreply 216November 24, 2024 11:20 PM

Has any modern president who's won by a narrow margin taken that as lesson to govern accordingly?

by Anonymousreply 218November 25, 2024 12:21 AM

R218 Some at least make gestures at it. Biden's win wasn't negligible but he made the point he was governing for all, and actually did a fair amount for people in red states. Trump doesn't even pretend, he threatens to penalize regions for lack of support. They had to convince him that he'd won voters in some rural CA counties in order to get him to release funding for wildfire victims. Trump is authentically corrupt.

by Anonymousreply 219November 25, 2024 2:26 AM

Biden extended the olive brand and got a bipartisan trillion dollar infrastructure bill pass. If that's not governing for all I don't know what is.

by Anonymousreply 233November 27, 2024 3:45 AM

They usually take all of Thanksgiving week off, you know Mika has to do her shopping to prep the feast, 25 dollar butter and all.

by Anonymousreply 234November 27, 2024 6:48 AM

Damn. But that makes sense. I was hoping they'd flounced.

by Anonymousreply 235November 27, 2024 6:54 AM

R234 is a buzz killer.

by Anonymousreply 236November 27, 2024 8:06 AM

Stephen Miller is a worm. But Kash Patel is a true maggot.

by Anonymousreply 237December 1, 2024 9:04 AM

Get Joe Walsh off the screen.

by Anonymousreply 238December 2, 2024 1:40 AM

Notwithstanding Democrats bleeding support, the purist at R238 doesn’t want to see any converts to the cause.

by Anonymousreply 239December 2, 2024 1:49 AM

I'm also pissed at Joe Walsh. He's one of those that, rather than see Trump disqualified from the race earlier this year, (when Colorado challenged the Supreme Court decision), thought it was best we "beat him at the ballot box!"

Look how well that turned out!

Perhaps we didn't vote hard enough?

by Anonymousreply 240December 2, 2024 2:30 AM

And look how trying to get Trump constitutionally disqualified worked out. And it’s also worth noting the SCOTUS decision was unanimous.

by Anonymousreply 241December 2, 2024 2:49 AM

And with Trump getting a minimum of 2 more SCOTUS appointments, the Constitution is worth shit for the very very long indefinite future.

by Anonymousreply 242December 2, 2024 8:06 AM

Comcast spinning off MSNBC and Elon wants to purchase it. Just like X he will turn it into another pile of hot steamy shit and propaganda. Sadly, as we have learned with Twitter, it does not matter if it loses money, his purpose to to manipulate the public by using social media to push his Trumpian bullshit.

by Anonymousreply 243December 2, 2024 8:19 AM

The voluntary attrition following a Musk takeover would immediately deplete the network of talent and value, wiping out most of the viewership, except perhaps what remains for Joe & Mika.

And Katy Tur.

by Anonymousreply 244December 2, 2024 10:01 AM

Yes, but just as with Twitter X, the void will be filled with they same type of people essentially creating a FOX v2 called MSNBC.

by Anonymousreply 245December 2, 2024 11:36 AM

And? MSNBC is just a bunch of letters. The resistance will resurface somewhere, with a reenergized following. The base is too large to succumb.

by Anonymousreply 246December 2, 2024 1:31 PM

OMG. Please hang in there, CNN. Get up, Anderson! We love you!!

by Anonymousreply 247December 2, 2024 3:56 PM

Handsome Kevin Madden, former Romney spokesperson, on with Jen now. Oh for the days when Romney was the leader of the Republicans.

by Anonymousreply 248December 3, 2024 1:34 AM

Rachel's righteous anger is justified tonight but I just can't watch that anymore. We are losing. No, we have lost.

by Anonymousreply 249December 3, 2024 2:13 AM

And Rachel is without any makeup tonight. A sign of sorts.

by Anonymousreply 250December 3, 2024 2:14 AM

God Bless Rachel Maddow.

by Anonymousreply 251December 3, 2024 2:14 AM

Well when they finally sell of MSNBC and Elon buys it to spread more propaganda, Rachel should consider starting her own small network. I am sure that since she agreed to a 5 million cut in her pay, whoever is negotiating on her behalf has locked in pay with an exit plan.

by Anonymousreply 252December 3, 2024 3:38 AM

Rachel + Lawrence= 🔥

by Anonymousreply 253December 3, 2024 10:10 AM

The gal on with Jonathan Lemire who couldn’t talk?

by Anonymousreply 254December 3, 2024 11:30 AM

So Rachel's show last night referred to Fellow Travelers and what occurred with Matt Bomer's character's father in law....I wish Rachel had mentioned FT last night. Otherwise, her best show in AGES.

by Anonymousreply 255December 3, 2024 4:22 PM

In Fellow Travelers, it was a fictional retelling of the Lester Hunt story. Surprising they never made an actual movie about it.

by Anonymousreply 256December 3, 2024 8:18 PM

Advise & Consent from '62 used the McCarthy hearings and Hunt's suicide as fictionalized plot points.

by Anonymousreply 267December 4, 2024 9:16 PM

Since the election, I’ve only watched 2 episodes of Joy Reid and then I stopped watching anything on MSNBC. It’ll probably be like this for the next 2 years unless someone finds actual proof that Elon Musky rigged the election. What a dumb ass country we live in.

by Anonymousreply 268December 4, 2024 9:20 PM

Elon didn't rig the election because he didn't have to. America said here's the keys, would you like me to rim your ass Sir?

by Anonymousreply 272December 5, 2024 1:52 AM

I tried to watch Ari Melber tonight and JFC - it is the same show I was watching in October. Nothing's changed. Rehashing everything about his interview with Mr. Full Court Press Insurrectionist, again. We already know all this sh*t. I couldn't take 9 minutes of it. Off.

by Anonymousreply 273December 5, 2024 1:59 AM

Mila & Joe-

If you are defending, you are losing.

by Anonymousreply 274December 5, 2024 11:11 AM

My God what is this self indulgent rant from Joe???? And Mika sitting there, trying to get a word in, beaming at Joe's defense. My God it's ALL ABOUT THEM. They should be fired for this nonsense straight away. Well so and so did it too!!!

by Anonymousreply 275December 5, 2024 11:22 AM

Talk about not being able to read the room, their collapse is complete.

by Anonymousreply 276December 5, 2024 11:23 AM

They are blaming the media, the same media they are a part of. The problem with their argument, is that while other news organizations talk to people on background, AKA off the record, they are not personal friends of their going to parties at Mar-a-lago one day, calling him Hitler the next, licking his as when they need ratings. These two really just dont get it.

Keep digging Joe and Mika, that holes getting really deep.

by Anonymousreply 277December 5, 2024 11:28 AM

Pour Willie, Rev, Jonathan had to sit through that…

by Anonymousreply 278December 5, 2024 11:32 AM

Willie looks like he's participating in a hostage video at this point.

by Anonymousreply 279December 5, 2024 11:43 AM

Blink twice Willie, let us know if you are chained to the table.

by Anonymousreply 280December 5, 2024 11:43 AM

If they fire Joe and Mika, Willie and Jonathan would be a better duo. They have 'Bro' chemistry. Toss in Katy Kay and the show would be 1000 times more professional. No more KNOW YOUR VALUE or self indulgent Joe rants!

by Anonymousreply 281December 5, 2024 11:46 AM

I wish they would fire them, keep the show with the other guests. But I suspect Joe has some unbreakable contract that if he goes, so does the show. I say that because I believe he was the one who came to MSNBC and pitched the show, he was not just a guy they hired to fill that spot. He probably owns part of it.

by Anonymousreply 282December 5, 2024 12:22 PM

Make MIKA stop talking.

by Anonymousreply 283December 5, 2024 1:23 PM

Oh, great! Kristen Welker is interviewing donald on "Meet the Press" this Sunday.

Probably best-watched on an empty stomach, this interview likely will be yet another nail in MSNBC's coffin.

by Anonymousreply 284December 5, 2024 5:35 PM
If they fire Joe and Mika, Willie and Jonathan would be a better duo.

So, it would be "Morning Willie"?

by Anonymousreply 285December 5, 2024 5:43 PM

I'd be good with a Willie/Jonathan sandwich. Just sayin'

by Anonymousreply 286December 5, 2024 6:13 PM

Are they making a play for MAGA viewers? I mean, Elon's gonna be their boss soon anyway. They're just being the snakes they always were.

Hang in there, Anderson and CNN. We desperately need you.

by Anonymousreply 287December 5, 2024 6:21 PM

Dreadful “people.” I do wish they’d disappear from public life.

by Anonymousreply 288December 5, 2024 8:35 PM

They will not go quietly. Mika soiled her fathers reputation and they both destroyed their own. They broke the trust of their audience on both sides. This is not recoverable especially without an apology and some actual understanding of what they did. Doubling down only works for Dump.

by Anonymousreply 289December 5, 2024 9:37 PM

I predict they will eventually be forced to leave MSNBC, they will attempt to start their one thing after pitching it to Fox who will reject them. They will spend the final years of their life trying to convince America they did the right thing. Pulling in connections. But just like Tucker Carson, they will quickly become irrelevant. I hope they spend their entire fortune with this failed attempt.

Oh well, at least they can say they never apologized.

by Anonymousreply 290December 5, 2024 9:38 PM

What do either of them actually contribute? Joe attempts to relate everything to the experiences of his distant and brief political career, offset by faux outrage rants. Mika parrots whatever the prevailing position is they've decided to adopt. In essence, the show is about what the guests bring. And the banter. They've got a tired but cushy perch, and will try to defend it at any cost. Too bad for them, the audience ain't buying it anymore.

by Anonymousreply 291December 5, 2024 10:15 PM

You are NOT NY Times reporters. You're not reporters at all. Your refusal to HEAR what your critics, your own viewers, are saying is not only gross but it's hypocritical. And Mika laughing makes it even worse. And WE know what Frum meant. You're scapegoating”

by Anonymousreply 298December 6, 2024 7:52 AM

Peter Thiel, Elon Musk, now David Sacks as the Ai Crypto czar. Come one, come all cronies. WH is Open For Business. Somehow this time I don't think we'll see a press conference with stacks of blank paper fronting as Trump divesting all assets that might pose a conflict of interest. No, not when he has a meme crypto token of his own, a social media site, and is hawking a new line of cologne, to go with the NFT's, trading cards, bibles, footwear, and watches. It's so tawdry, the normalization of corruption.

by Anonymousreply 299December 6, 2024 8:06 AM

The White House press room is history. He already tried it one and totally failed remember? This time he want's to stack it with "influencers" like Joe Rogan and lock out traditional media. Well good luck with that. I doubt Joe or other right wing nuts making millions sitting in their garage studio really want to fly to DC and sit there 5 days a week to ask one question. It will be entertaining for a few weeks until everyone gets board and it will sink like a lose turd in the toilet.

by Anonymousreply 300December 6, 2024 9:24 AM

by Anonymousreply 301December 6, 2024 11:28 AM

by Anonymousreply 302December 6, 2024 12:16 PM

It’s a better show without them.-just the facts-not the ego crap.

by Anonymousreply 303December 6, 2024 12:18 PM

Just the facts are not going to blunt the Fox/Advertising/Marketing/Analytics noise machine.

Joe should have taken an Own The MAGA's attitude and attacked both Trump AND Murdoch.

by Anonymousreply 304December 6, 2024 12:54 PM

MSNBC must shitcan them. If nothing else, to make a statement about ethics and integrity. Every day that goes by, with these two whores sitting smugly on their dais, is a day that loses more viewers and lessens MSNBC’s status.

by Anonymousreply 305December 6, 2024 4:48 PM

Defending David Frum is a weird place to be, but his "flippant" remark, aside from being apt, can't compare in terms of offensive and disparaging commentary, with what they spew on any average day on Fox's num we ous opinion shows. You have to believe, J & M want to keep all options open wrt a place to land when things at MSNBC fizzle.

I’m praying that the recent announcement of moving Jonathan Lamire to co-host status on MJ signals that the twin whores are about to be shitcanned. Also glad to see Ali Vitali get a chance with her own new show.

by Anonymousreply 334December 10, 2024 3:38 PM

Interesting to note how slowly this thread is moving these days as so many posters have moved away from watching MSNBC, including myself.

by Anonymousreply 335December 10, 2024 3:51 PM

R334 it was announced over the summer that Lemire would be hosting the 9:00 hour.

I think this just means Joe and Mika will only be on live from 6-8 and available during the 8am rebroadcast for breaking news.

by Anonymousreply 336December 10, 2024 4:00 PM

This was a new announcement from yesterday.

by Anonymousreply 337December 10, 2024 4:13 PM

So Lemire opens with Way Too Early 5-6 and now closes the 9-10 hour?

I think Rashida is renegotiation the MJ Trinity for the post MSNBC spin-off.

I think it would be brilliant if Comcast spun off MSNBC from NBC and created a direct Comcast Fox/OAN/Newsmax Infotainment competitor. Let Kornacki do analytics on Fox's lies and opinion pushing.

by Anonymousreply 338December 10, 2024 4:41 PM

Then they can spin off the MJ Trio and Lemire can continue closing for Dateline on NBC.

by Anonymousreply 339December 10, 2024 4:45 PM

And to think just a few months ago they were bullish enough to hold a live confab with all the MSNBC hosts, and charge hundreds of dollars a ticket to attend. Where it was evident from the sea of gray that the median age of viewers is 71 - a whole 6 years older than Faux News. Clearly a dying business.

by Anonymousreply 340December 10, 2024 7:20 PM

That's why the new Enquirer type spin off will apply to the youngins.

by Anonymousreply 341December 10, 2024 7:43 PM
So Lemire opens with Way Too Early 5-6 and now closes the 9-10 hour?

by Anonymousreply 342December 10, 2024 7:57 PM

The fault lies with Rashida Jones who seems clueless with regard to both her MSNBC audience and talent. Does she provide no guidance to her producers and on-air staff?

What will launching an Ali Vitali show deliver besides the samo samo?

We have sufficient, Rashida; buy a new cookie cutter. Meanwhile, many MSNBC viewers are exploring other options.

by Anonymousreply 343December 10, 2024 8:05 PM

I explored Jim Acosta this morning.

by Anonymousreply 345December 10, 2024 11:44 PM

I haven't seen attorney Ken Dilanian in a very long time on MSNBC. He appeared tonight on Chris Hayes' show (Ayman guest hosting). WOW - did he get old looking. Either he's ill, or just aging rapidly at 55. His hair is going gray, he lost so much weight, his eyes are sunken in. Very skeletal face, he looks awful. Poor guy was once so handsome and sexy.

by Anonymousreply 346December 11, 2024 1:14 AM

I think Ken looks good.

by Anonymousreply 347December 11, 2024 2:50 AM

r343, it seems that Rashida uses W2E as a holding place for men and a step out the door for women.

Funny that they didn't offer it back to purple leg.

by Anonymousreply 348December 11, 2024 3:38 AM

Aging isn’t pretty.

by Anonymousreply 349December 11, 2024 4:07 AM

Dilanian stayed under the radar for a couple years because of his inaccurate reporting for NYT. Mostly in favor of Trump. He was kind of like a lil bro to Maggie Habermann.

by Anonymousreply 350December 11, 2024 6:39 AM

R346 His obsessive teeth whitening is what ultimately took its toll.
