Oliver Stone is one of those guys who was once far, far left and then became far, far right. It's like political alignment is a circle that's open a little bit at the bottom. On one side is the left, on the other the right. But the two almost meet at their extremes.

The far, far left and the far, far right have so much in common: conspiracy theories galore, hatred of the government, the conviction that they and only they know the truth, disgust with dissenters from their viewpoints. Etc.
