Is there a new SNL thread?

I have no idea who Mk.gee the music guest is

Tag! You're it!

I can't find one, OP.
Tonight's show is offending me and making me laugh at the same time. It's like pre-woke writing but sadly it seems to be at the expense of women. There's a very weird bro vibe going on, which seems to reflect the mood in the country since Trump won, but Bill Burr is the host, so the sketches are very male-centric.

I liked the Snake rock band skit so far.

I hated the opening but I guess it was better than Maya Rudolph playing the piano

Michael Che speaks the truth
by Anonymous | reply 6 | November 10, 2024 5:26 AM |
Oh, God, R5... remember that? And they think Britain overreacted with schmaltz over Diana.

This SNL is one of the worst ever. Bald men. Janitor. Even the Weekend Update was especially bad.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | November 10, 2024 5:39 AM |
With the bald cap Andrew Dismukes could play a young pre-buff Jeff Bezos.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | November 10, 2024 5:41 AM |
R9: I found out Andrew Dismukes is part-Cajun...um, yeah that's a plus in my book.

I dated a Cajun once. Fun in the sack but cuckoo for Coca Puffs on Catholicism.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | November 10, 2024 8:06 AM |
I think I chuckled maybe twice during last night's show.
Lazy writing all around, from the firefighter sketch to the restaurant scene where the lady tried to tell a joke. And the janitor short film became just another scatological copout
Plain dumb.

Cocoa!

Bill Burr is allowed to be as sexist and homophobic as he wants cause his wife is black.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | November 10, 2024 5:15 PM |
I just can't let Imogene go, r13.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | November 10, 2024 5:22 PM |
This had to be the worst episode in the season so far. It felt like a bunch of comedy reject wrote the sketches. The cold open was horrible, the Weekend Update was horrible.
The only good news - they used Dismukes and Marcello and the new cute guy a few times.
Mk Gee - had to mute the TV but he was sexy. Type of guy I wouldn't mind waking up next to and taking care of his 'morning wood' for him.
Bowen Yang - please get rid of this guy once and for all.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | November 10, 2024 5:50 PM |
Bowen's fine and not for the eldergay demographic, but the show sucks.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | November 10, 2024 5:53 PM |
To me, to be honest, Bowen somehow seems more mellow as a performer, more relaxed, more confident.
It may be he's rocking his middle age and got a bit fat.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | November 10, 2024 5:59 PM |
R17 So the youngergay demo finds him funny ? Wow, they really set the bar low on humor. Thanks for letting me know ! I guess this is why SNL doesn't even try any more.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | November 10, 2024 6:08 PM |
Bowen brings nothing to the show. NOTHING!
by Anonymous | reply 20 | November 10, 2024 6:21 PM |
Who was the kind of cute dude that put in almost every sketch last night?
Is it someone Bowen is fucking?
by Anonymous | reply 21 | November 10, 2024 8:37 PM |
Bowen really makes you bitches MAD, doesn't he? Rent free in your fucking heads.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | November 10, 2024 8:52 PM |
A series of skits featuring Bowen Yang as celebrity chef Ming Tsai would be a winner.
I was a big fan of Ming's cooking show "Simply Ming" back in the day and he's back ... this time appearing to have tied one on before (and during) the episodes, which now feature Ming's long suffering son, Henry, as co-host.
Hilarious! Call me, SNL.

Cajun dudes are always packing
by Anonymous | reply 24 | November 10, 2024 9:20 PM |
We'll give the writers and cast a pass for this week. They're all most likely feeling the same way we all are.
It's hard to laugh right now, let alone come up with content to make others do so....
by Anonymous | reply 25 | November 10, 2024 9:23 PM |
Did Bill Burr write the sketches? Because they were lame and borderline offensive.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | November 10, 2024 9:30 PM |
The Weekend Update (minus Keenen) was the best part

Dana Carvey is a Trumpster so he can fuck right off
by Anonymous | reply 29 | November 10, 2024 10:28 PM |
R22 Hi, Bowen. Sorry you sucked again last night.

More like rent-free on our television every Saturday night. How can we evict him ?
by Anonymous | reply 31 | November 10, 2024 11:55 PM |
Dana is NOT a Trumpster. Have you ever even listened to his podcast with David Spade?

[quote]Is there a new SNL thread?
I'm the OP of the weekly SNL threads. I don't know why but I was blocked from posting all day yesterday and most of today (my access just returned), so was unable to open a thread for this week's show. Thanks to the OP for starting this one.

R25, agreed. I'd be willing to bet having to say all those nice words about Trump in the cold open, even as a joke, probably wasn't the easiest thing to do.

It appears Elon wasn't happy with Dana's portrayal of him last night:
by Anonymous | reply 34 | November 11, 2024 1:04 AM |
Marcello is adorable but he looks like he never goes to the gym and doesn't plan to. He looks like the cute guy who balloons real fast when they hit 30.
by Anonymous | reply 35 | November 11, 2024 2:06 AM |
Fuck Elon.
by Anonymous | reply 36 | November 11, 2024 4:27 AM |
I zipped through this sad piece of shit, TWO restaurant sketches, but I was struck by one new player, and ONLY ONE FUCKING PLAYER, Ashley Padilla.
She stuck out because she is the only comedic actress in the cast. She knows how to deliver a line. She never rushed her lines. She was always 100% bought-in on her characters,
Even in a crap sketch like Trauma Therapy Group, she was a standout.
She is like a Jane Curtain and Gilda rolled into one and updated.
Ashley Padilla will be my reason to watch this crapfest.

Wonderful.
Another 'SNL' hasn't been funny since (fill in the blank) post.

You are a classic r39.

Meh. I don't like Bill Burr but he cracked some good jokes and turned in some funny performances. I enjoyed of the skits. I must be a low brow.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | November 18, 2024 9:20 PM |
I enjoyed the Bill Burr episode, too.
