Democrats must stop pandering to Special Interest groups!

For too long, Democrats have relied on a fragmented coalition of Special Interest groups to win elections.

The problem with that is that if any of these groups decides that they got burned, and choose to sit out an election, then we're fucked.

That's what happened in this election.

GenZ, Black Americans, Latinos, Women, Gay People, Asian Americans, Arab Americans, and other minorities (in addition to White Liberals) have always been the target demographics for Democratic candidates.

But when you think about it, the only real core voters of the Democratic Party are White Liberals.

Compare that with the core voters of the Republican Party, who are white conservatives, racists, and bigots.

Which means that there are more Republican voters than Democratic voters.

So if any of the Special Interest groups decides to leave Democrats and go to the Republican side, we will always lose.

And don't forget the White Voters in the middle, who sometimes go left and sometimes go right.

Forget the Special Interest groups, because they are unreliable.

If black Americans feel left out or not heard, they'll stay home, which they did this time. Also in this election, White women have proven that they'll vote for an anti-abortion rapist misogynist at a rate of over 50%, so they're also unreliable. GenZ is pretty much lost. Latinos too. They're all now Repubicans. Arab Americans felt betrayed by Democrats so they either stayed home or voted Republican.

Democrats were BETRAYED by all of these Special Interest groups this election.

Democrats worked so hard on behalf of protecting women's rights, protecting and supporting immigrants, working to stop racism and discrimination, boosting social services on behalf of the poor, student loan forgiveness on behalf of GenZ, creating jobs and strengthening unions on behalf of the middle class.

And what did we get for it? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. Every single one of these groups turned on us and voted for Donald Trump in larger numbers than in previous elections.

They were thankless, duplicitous and ungrateful, and spit in the face of Democrats. They humiliated us.

So it's time to stop pandering to them, because we get nothing in return.

All this pandering gets us, is attacked by Republicans.

by Anonymousreply 49November 11, 2024 1:08 AM

Republicans "pandering" to special interest groups won them the fucking election... what are you talking about?

Evangelicals

Catholic fascists

Rural white people

Non-college educated white and brown people

Latino men

Gen Z men

Incels

Oligarchs

by Anonymousreply 1November 9, 2024 8:45 PM
Republicans "pandering" to special interest groups won them the fucking election... what are you talking about?

And just think.

Republicans didn't have to do a goddamned thing to get their vote.

Democrats did all the work, and Republicans got their vote.

THAT is what the fuck I'm talking about.

All we got was the blame for helping them.

by Anonymousreply 2November 9, 2024 8:51 PM

Snippet overheard today between two douchebros:

1) I didn't like one single thing about her.

2) Imagine what China would've done with her?

by Anonymousreply 3November 9, 2024 8:51 PM
1) I didn't like one single thing about her.

This is such a weird thing to say.

I find Kamala very likable.

Much more so than Hillary, to be honest.

by Anonymousreply 4November 9, 2024 10:31 PM

They need to stop being doormats also.

by Anonymousreply 5November 9, 2024 10:32 PM
Democrats did all the work, and Republicans got their vote.

R2 More like Republicans let the myopic Democrats dig their own graves.

Helen Keller could see from outer space that going farther and farther left on women's/trans/black issues was a terrible idea.

Some of us here sounded the alarm several times, only to get called names or dismissed.

by Anonymousreply 6November 9, 2024 10:46 PM

Asian-Americans didn't betray the Dems this election. Neither did gays.

by Anonymousreply 7November 9, 2024 10:46 PM

Very true, R7.

by Anonymousreply 8November 10, 2024 12:59 AM

How normal is it be a Democrat and be raised by Democrats, as opposed to adapting to that mindset later in life? I never understood Republican politics outside of maybe a reform candidate, until I moved to the depths of flyoverstan. Oh my, they love the cruelty.

by Anonymousreply 9November 10, 2024 2:49 AM

It's all a performance, r4. Like when they called her stupid. Those bros were full of shit.

by Anonymousreply 10November 10, 2024 3:14 AM

they love the cruelty.

Why can't Democrats commit cruelty like them, something like make Barron trump's life fucking miserable, go to the bone, he's corrupt too, somebody needs to get him and expose every far he makes, but Dems are pussies of course.

by Anonymousreply 11November 10, 2024 3:22 AM

OP, get a blog.

by Anonymousreply 13November 10, 2024 9:49 AM

Democrats should stop pandering to Gays, the elderly, and the mentally challenged, OP?

So...we should stop being compassionate people?

by Anonymousreply 14November 10, 2024 11:31 AM

There's a difference between compassion and pandering. Compassion - empathy and assistence for victims of natural disaster, disabled children, etc. Pandering - offering special privileges merely because you want the votes of that community.

by Anonymousreply 15November 10, 2024 1:50 PM

It's weird how progressives will champion every single underdog and dissect every form of privilege, except the most important one CLASS. If you champion the working class and support their basic rights to a fair days pay for a fair days work every underdog will benefit; urban blacks, rural poor, migrants, single parents and the youth are underdogs because their pay and conditions make life too difficult.

by Anonymousreply 16November 10, 2024 2:08 PM

I don't understand how being more like the GOP - lies and hate - will help the DNC win elections

by Anonymousreply 17November 10, 2024 2:30 PM

r16, they are niche, but you're right that fighting for identity, something many youth seek, doesn't make housing or living more affordable

by Anonymousreply 18November 10, 2024 2:30 PM

Except she has plans to make housing more affordable. Nobody wanted to listen tho

by Anonymousreply 19November 10, 2024 2:51 PM

This is all part and parcel of the American two-party pendulum swing. Dem in the White House, special interest groups get all full of themselves, and it contributes eventually to a loss. (It wasn't the main reason for the loss this time but it contributed)

Then the GOP takes over and things get bad, and these special interest groups temporarily get a clue-by-four to their heads. We have increased party unity... for a while. And it helps the Democrat to replace the Republican.

Rinse and repeat.

by Anonymousreply 20November 10, 2024 2:55 PM
Except she has plans to make housing more affordable. Nobody wanted to listen tho

Watch this video, and you'll see how hard it was for Kamala to fight Trump's propaganda machine.

The minute words even came out of her mouth, Trump and his cronies would dispute what she said and then put it out on every possible media and social media channel.

His lies were then sent out in seconds and broadcast all over the world in seconds.

Lie, after lie, after lie.

The Republican Party has vast propaganda machine, from Elon's Twitter, to Fox News, to right-wing Podcasters, to "Truth Social," to you name it.

They have tapped into the 21st Century propaganda and lie spreading mechanism, and have been using it to their advantage.

Watch the video at this link, and you'll see how this team formulates and then spreads the lies.

by Anonymousreply 22November 10, 2024 3:00 PM

Oh stop R22. He won the election fair and square this time. Perversely he and MAGA are now much more at peace with our current political system than they have been until now.

by Anonymousreply 23November 10, 2024 3:02 PM

MAGA, R23!

Of course you all would be "at peace" with our current political system.

It only works if you win. If it doesn't then the country gets another January 6.

DEMS win? Cheating.

MAGA wins? It's all fair.

Dumb cunts.

by Anonymousreply 25November 10, 2024 3:25 PM

R24, way to miss the point. There was a ridiculous claim at R22. I am not at peace with the status quo but replacing a vote-based democracy is no longer a MAGA priority, not after what just happened. There will be a new vote-based president elected in 2028 and Trump got the #1 and #2 things he wanted, (1) the ultimate power/triumph sequel as he faces age 80 and (2) an end to the threat of him being criminally prosecuted and possibly imprisoned.

by Anonymousreply 26November 10, 2024 3:28 PM
There will be a new vote-based president elected in 2028

Someone put it so simply and succinctly in another thread, so I'll have to repeat it here:

[bold]PEOPLE LIKE YOU JUST DON'T GET IT.[/bold]

But you will.

There will not be another election.

That's all I need to say.

by Anonymousreply 27November 10, 2024 3:31 PM

R16 I don't understand. Are you saying that Democrats were too busy "helping" transgenders and ignored the middle class? I mean...really?

That's some Fox bullshit. The economy and unemployment are better now than under Trump.

by Anonymousreply 28November 10, 2024 3:35 PM

Yeah-No special interest groups like gays.

by Anonymousreply 29November 10, 2024 3:36 PM

Because Republicans never, ever pander to special interest groups:

US Manufacturers Association US Chamber of Commerce American Banking Association American Family Council Focus on Family ad nauseum.

Just to name a few right off the top of my head.

Should I go on, troll OP?

by Anonymousreply 30November 10, 2024 3:54 PM
Because Republicans never, ever pander to special interest groups:
US Manufacturers Association US Chamber of Commerce American Banking Association American Family Council Focus on Family ad nauseum.

You really don't get the point, do you R30?

Are you truly that fucking stupid?

DEMOCRATS PANDERING GETS THEM NOWHERE.

Democrats bent over backwards to help all of these Special Interest groups, with ZERO payoff.

They lost votes in every single one of those demographics that they tried to help: Women, Hispanics, GenZ, Arab Americans, etc.

Because they all voted for Donald Trump in greater numbers than in 2020!!!!

And you just made op's point even clearer.

Every single one of the Special Interest groups that Republicans pandered to, paid off for them.

Businessmen, Bankers, Focus on the Family, etc. ALL SHOWED UP AND VOTED FOR TRUMP.

The point being, when Democrats pander, they get used and then stabbed in the back.

When Republicans pander, they get loyal voters.

GET IT NOW, DUMB FUCK R30??????

by Anonymousreply 31November 10, 2024 4:01 PM

There are a million articles now stating the obvious - Latinos don’t like being called Latinx. That’s one thing Democrats could stop doing. Democrats need to get the hell out of social issues beyond economic.

by Anonymousreply 32November 10, 2024 4:03 PM

R30, half of those mentioned are part of the backbone of the economy.

by Anonymousreply 33November 10, 2024 4:04 PM

Kamala didn’t even have her policy up on her web site for over a month. We were screaming about it and told that we were being melodramatic. We, all 4 of us, were right in the end. We didn’t want to be but we were.

by Anonymousreply 34November 10, 2024 4:05 PM

Get over yourself, uber cunt @R31. You and OP are both not the political strategists you fancy yourselves to be. You're simply Monday morning quarterbacking as well as playing the blame game, games any third rate asshole can play.

And you sound like a deranged psychopath.

Attention: Nurse Ratchet. Triple the Thorazine dosage of R31 STAT!!!!!

by Anonymousreply 35November 10, 2024 4:11 PM

The Dem Coalition stitches together certain groups and the GOP coalition does too.

To gain victory, each tried to undermine the other’s coalition. Dems tried to grab white women, never Trumpers, and evangelicals upset about Trump. GOP tried to divide LGBT by going after T, peeled off Latino and Black men, and tried to suppress minorities votes everywhere

by Anonymousreply 36November 10, 2024 4:59 PM
Kamala didn’t even have her policy up on her web site for over a month. We were screaming about it and told that we were being melodramatic. We, all 4 of us, were right in the end. We didn’t want to be but we were

No one cared about her policies just like they didn’t care about Trump’s. If everyone felt threatened by the economy, 15 more million would have come out to vote like they did for Biden.

by Anonymousreply 37November 10, 2024 5:01 PM

These same special interest groups will lead the Dems to victory in two years. Stay tuned

by Anonymousreply 38November 10, 2024 5:03 PM

OMG R38 please SHUT THE FUCK UP with your ridiculous "look on the bright side" optimism.

IT'S NOT GOING TO HAPPEN.

We are finished.

This country is finished.

Republicans will destroy us all before another election can be held.

Some of you really just don't get it, do you??

by Anonymousreply 39November 10, 2024 5:05 PM

No. What happened in this election is white people, 70% of voters, voted for Trump.

Trump didn’t win because “special interest groups,” defacto. He won because white people elected a criminal rapist to the presidency. Again.

by Anonymousreply 40November 10, 2024 5:07 PM

OP is a Nazi troll. We must throw away all interest groups while the GOP keeps theirs. Great way for the Democratic Party to never win another election ever again. Punch and delete the OP and all retards agreeing with them. This is just anti-Democratic trolling.
No. What happened in this election is white people, 70% of voters, voted for Trump.

66% of Kamala voters were white. Nearly 71,000,000 voted for her, so that's roughly 46,860,000 white people who voted for her.

84% of Trump voters were white. Nearly 75,000,000 voted for him, so that's roughly 63,000,000 white people who voted for him.

If you combine the 46,860,000 + 63,000,000, you get 109,860,000 white voters.

That means roughly 42.7% of white people voted for Harris, and 57.3% voted for Trump.

Sorry R40, but your "70% of white people voted for Trump" statement is wrong.

by Anonymousreply 45November 10, 2024 5:23 PM
Sorry [R40], but your "70% of white people voted for Trump" statement is wrong.

Why not just admit you’re wrong instead of quoting something I didn’t say?

I said white people are 70% of voters, I didn’t say 70% voted for Trump.

by Anonymousreply 46November 10, 2024 5:30 PM

From the demographics chart at R44 we can see that:

Of the 71,000,000 who voted for Kamala,

66% were white = 46,860,000 17% were black = 12,070,000 11% were latino = 7,810,000 6% were other = 4,260,000

Of the 75,000,000 who voted for Trump:

84% were white = 63,000,000 3% were black = 2,250,000 8% were latino = 6,000,000 4% were other = 3,000,000

9,750,000 more black people voted for Harris than Trump. 1,810,000 more latino people voted for Harris than Trump 1,260,000 more "other races" voted for Harris than Trump

Even though more minority voters voted for Trump this year, the stats show that minorities STILL chose Harris over Trump in every demographic.

The only demographic that chose Trump over Harris? WHITE PEOPLE.

16,140,000 more white people voted for Trump than for Harris.

So the bottom line is that even though Democrats have a lot of work to do in getting back minority voters, they have the MOST work to do with white voters.

16 million white votes is going to be a huge obstacle for any Democratic Presidential candidate.

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 47November 10, 2024 5:41 PM

By the numbers, it's clear that white voters are responsible for putting Donald Trump back in office.

Nearly 13,000,000 more minorities voted for Harris, than Trump.

Over 16,000,000 more white people voted for Trump than Harris.

She really didn't stand a chance this year, without more support from white voters.

OR a higher minority turnout + more Latino support.

There were lots of combinations that could have put Harris over the top, but the support just wasn't there for her.

by Anonymousreply 48November 11, 2024 12:42 AM

^ The left loves to talk shit about white people, especially white men. Aren't they the problem for everything?

So it should be no surprise that this what you get.

The biggest voting block in the US is white people, followed by Latinos. But Dems spend a lot of energy on the black vote: they're 13% of the population.
