Biden’s own internal polling, while he was refusing to drop out, showed Trump getting over 400 electoral votes

Not only was he refusing to drop out, but his people were telling reporters that Kamala Harris would not win. So he knew he would not win, did not believe Harris would win, and forced her on the party anyway.

That’s just straight up evil.

The Dems didn’t have a chance without a Black person as either prez or VP candidate. Blacks just wouldn’t come out, like they didn’t with Hillary/Kaine.

A Dem win would have been an outlier this year anyway. All over the world, the incumbents got tossed out or were severely threatened. Crony Capitalism isn’t working for the majority of people and they move their loyalty from party to party desperate for an answer

If they hadn’t gone with Harris black women, especially would have revolted

R3 For a diverse coalition party the Dems need to stop this bull shit that their candidates need to be a certain race or gender…

by Anonymousreply 4November 9, 2024 6:30 PM

That's bullshit ginned up by the Joy Reid's and Sunny Hostin's of the mainstream media R3.

Kamala got 0% of the black vote when she was running for President in 2020. There was no dedication or massive likeability to her like there was to the Obama's.

A majority would have voted for the nominee regardless.

R4, it wasn't that they need to pick a black woman out of the starting gate. It was (for 2024 specifically) that they had Kamala sitting right there as VP, primed and ready. Pass her over and that's a capital-S Snub. And it would have alienated Black women voters, absolutely. They would not have shown up for Gavin Newsom.

But it's all water over the collapsed bridge - Biden/Dems were gonna lose. He only won in 2020 by 3.5 pts and that was with Covid raging, Trump failing and the economy fallen apart. We should have understood that that was not a "voters want a Democrat" election, it was a close election that indicated a massive amount of Trump support holding strong even while things were going to hell on Trump's watch.

OP clearly endorses the idea of the circular firing squad.

Fight the real enemy, not one of our own.

Um, the GOP does this too—two white men in the ticket

You were correct all the way up through “sitting right there as VP,” but then fantasy kind of took over.
