Taylor Swift surpasses Barbra Streisand in Grammy nominated albums
With today's Grammy nominations, Taylor Swift has surpassed Barbra Streisand as female artist with most Grammy nominations for 'Best Album of the Year'. The two of them were tied as of last year with six albums each. Today's nomination for 'The Tortured Poets Department' , her eleventh studio album in her catalog, brings the nominations to seven for Swift.
Streisand, 82, got one nomination today for 'Best Audio Book, Narration, and Storytelling Recording'.

To think it took Streisand 23 years to achieve six 'Best Album' nominations (from 'The Barbra Streisand Album' to 'The Broadway Album'. It has taken Swift 15 years to achieve this, and each album sounds just like the last one nominated.

Well Grammys have gotten more pop to stop from their viewership declining.
Madonna didn’t win a Grammy until “Ray of Light”. Today she’d have been nominated for just about every album before that.

Today the Gammys and the MTV VMA’s are interchangeable. They used to be very different. Grammys still has categories for everything but they were always more sophisticated in their selection.

R5 The Grammys have really lowered the bar on 'sophistication' in the last 25 years.

ABBA and The Supremes never won a Grammy.
Pop music was always viewed as frivolous, especially female fronted pop music.

Doesn’t most of Taylor’s music all sound the same?

Taylor Swift's albums all sound like Taylor Swift because Taylor Swift sings the songs, writes the songs and produces the songs.
Fearless and Speak Now were country, Red was country pop, 1989 was pop, Reputation and Lover were a mix of electro county pop, Folklore and Evermore were country folk, Midnights was more electro pop and The Tortured Poets Department is folk pop.

R10 Oh, yes, she did. And if she doesn't sweep the Grammys in February (and beat out Swift) there will be hell to pay - and Sunny Hostin will lead the revolt. She will bring out a fresh new deck of race cards on 'The View'.

The only somewhat good thing to come out of Kamala's loss, is that Sunny Hostile asked her that question about what she would have done differently than Biden that the Repubs used. So bitter, stick up her ass Sunny can rest assured she helped dismantle the candidate.

R13 I've been saying this for weeks in 'The View' - since the interview. Who'd have thunk Sunny was Kamala's "October Surprise" and tanked her chances ? I've also pointed out the latest Trump ads start with a close-up of Sunny asking Harris the question - then the headline 'She won't change a thing'. I've brought this up in 'The View' thread, as well. And I'm certain Sunny has been getting a lot of shit online and in person the past few days blaming her for the loss.
