But Pit Bulls are so gentle!

The dogs need to be euthanized.

by Anonymousreply 1November 8, 2024 9:03 AM

Ya think? I'd say the dog owner(s) need to be put down.

by Anonymousreply 2November 8, 2024 9:05 AM

No, they should be jailed. Human > Animal.

by Anonymousreply 3November 8, 2024 9:24 AM

Both the humans and the dogs need to be put down.

Do society a favor.

The breed has not been reported, OP. Maybe they are collies, Irish Setters, or French bull dogs.

by Anonymousreply 5November 8, 2024 10:18 AM

^ Yes, this sounds like the work of collies and Irish Setters. šŸ™„

by Anonymousreply 6November 8, 2024 10:35 AM

Seriously, R6, Irish Setters are dangerous. They can lick the flesh right off of you!

by Anonymousreply 7November 8, 2024 10:48 AM

That poor man. I don't want to try to imagine his pain and fear. Unbearable pain for his loved ones to live with the rest of their lives, knowing how he suffered.

by Anonymousreply 8November 8, 2024 10:49 AM

I'm guessing Golden Retrievers.

by Anonymousreply 9November 8, 2024 10:51 AM

They're no match for a Bichon FrisƩ!

Or those endlessly yapping pomeranians!

by Anonymousreply 12November 8, 2024 11:10 AM

Manslaughter/homicide charges for the owners, hopefully.

This poor guy was just biking down a street. He was ripped apart and spent 3 tortured days in the ICU before dying.

by Anonymousreply 13November 8, 2024 11:16 AM

Jesus, OP. it must be exhausting being so frightened of EVERYTHING.

by Anonymousreply 14November 8, 2024 11:17 AM

Awful. My mother's hometown has banned pitbulls and other aggressive breeds.

by Anonymousreply 15November 8, 2024 11:18 AM

They ripped his heels off and his cheek. 300 bites. What kind of hell is this. Of course the owners should be charged. What was done to these dogs to make them this way. So sad for thos poor guy. RIP

by Anonymousreply 16November 8, 2024 11:19 AM

Gosh, r14, it must be exhausting filling your knowledge gaps with your projectile bullshit.

by Anonymousreply 17November 8, 2024 11:21 AM

Fuck! What a terrible way to die. These dogs should be illegal.

by Anonymousreply 18November 8, 2024 11:23 AM

They must've gotten into the meth. Stop leaving shit on the table.

by Anonymousreply 19November 8, 2024 11:39 AM

That totally tracks for KC. The only thing that could make it even more plausible is if it happened in Independence.

by Anonymousreply 20November 8, 2024 11:44 AM

When I was in elementary school, there were packs of feral dogs that would silently run down the street when I walked home from school. They scared the crap out of me but they minded their own business and never attacked. They were mostly hounds, curs and heelers.

by Anonymousreply 21November 8, 2024 12:28 PM

If you do a search for more info on this incident - as in, the owners of the dogs - it is alarming how many stories there are about people being mauled to death by dogs. It seems almost common.

by Anonymousreply 22November 8, 2024 12:46 PM

You got me curious, R22.. hereā€™s a raft of info from a simple google search.

R21 where were there so many feral dogs?

by Anonymousreply 24November 8, 2024 4:23 PM

They were just playing RUFF.

by Anonymousreply 25November 8, 2024 5:43 PM

Now they can play Fertilizer.

by Anonymousreply 26November 9, 2024 2:29 PM

Shoot all the dogs point blank in the head.

by Anonymousreply 27November 9, 2024 2:44 PM

As soon as I read the thread title, I was hoping that it was some asshole who was mauled to death by his own dangerous dogs.

But no... sounds like an innocent guy who was in the wrong place and wrong time.

Asolutely horrific.

RIP; hope his relatives loved/loves ones get justice and eventually some semblance of peace

Dogs getting back at being eaten

by Anonymousreply 29November 9, 2024 2:54 PM

Don't send me letters or emails....I don't read them.

Is there any thing that people can do during a dog attack? Even if there were strategies to fend off or reduce the severity of an attack, it probably wouldn't matter with 7 dogs. Just terrible and terrifying.

My across the alley neighbor has two obnoxious pit mixes. His yard is fenced (though part of doesn't look very impenetrable). Every time I'm raking or mowing the small strip behind my garage that is outside my own fence, they'll run aggressively to the fence and bark and bark. Scares me every time, even if I'm expecting it. They seem to chill a bit after 30 seconds and then often run back into the yard, so I'm not assuming their killers. But, I do wonder what they'd do and what I'd do if they got out while I was back there.

by Anonymousreply 32November 9, 2024 4:19 PM

R32 I remember being taught this as a child in elementary school: the closest thing you can do to protecting yourself during a dog attack is getting down on the ground in a tight ball, face down, legs tucked underneath you, arms folded inwards as best as you can, hands balled into fists and on the side of your head covering your ears.

Theoretically this would only work if you a) have enough time to get enough into this position b) have the presence of mind to do in a moment of extreme terror and panic.

If the attack comes out of nowhere, you're pretty much fucked, especially if it's multiple dogs (as the poor gentleman in OP's story discovered).

by Anonymousreply 33November 10, 2024 4:08 AM

Somehow bungled the second paragraph. That should read:

Theoretically, this would only work if you a) have enough time to get into this position, and b) have the presence of mind to do so during a moment of extreme terror and panic.

R24 Virginia in the early to mid 70s. I think they were dogs who may have initially been kept as pets or hunting dogs but were left behind by their people.

by Anonymousreply 35November 14, 2024 9:42 PM

R20 - Methdependence as we like to call it.

Even KCK will shit on Independence these days.
