How do we feel about mass deportations now?

Be honest

by Anonymousreply 53November 19, 2024 11:42 PM

For now.

by Anonymousreply 1November 7, 2024 9:43 PM

No matter how you feel, unless there are clear human rights abuses, pipe down about it.

by Anonymousreply 2November 7, 2024 9:44 PM

I assume it will do terrible things to the economy in the long term. Putting it into practice ($$$$$$$) and loosing all those pairs of hands doing work others aren't prepared to do. Just a thought.

by Anonymousreply 3November 7, 2024 9:53 PM

I hope they're entertaining.

by Anonymousreply 4November 7, 2024 9:58 PM

It’s mass ethnic cleansing—like the Nazis did!

by Anonymousreply 5November 7, 2024 9:59 PM

They will lead to even more inflation and worsen the "economic conditions" people were supposedly so upset at Biden about, despite the fact that inflation has cooled, we are at full employment and stock markets are at all time highs.

by Anonymousreply 6November 7, 2024 10:02 PM

Honestly DL, I'm not that upset about it. My cousin called me from Ann Arbor Michon Wednesday to tell me about the Arab refugee Terrorist who started yelling at her on Monday in court.

Told Maryann that "alot of them" are going to be deported back home. She's a Federal Civil Rights Attorney.

I asked her "Can you start with the Latino men who voted badly"?

by Anonymousreply 7November 7, 2024 10:05 PM

I think the physical act of rounding up these people is going to get violent. Some of them will die, the ones trying to round them up will die, innocent bystanders will die...

by Anonymousreply 8November 7, 2024 10:05 PM

If we didn’t want them here, we shouldn’t have made it so easy to come. We wanted the cheap labor. Now we are going to round them up in some kind of a modern Roman gladiator spectacle to distract the masses. Shame on us.

by Anonymousreply 9November 7, 2024 10:12 PM

Everyone who forgot about Roberto Beristain's deportation will soon be reminded. His MAGA wife, friends, and loyal patrons of their family restaurant thought only the "bad hombres" would get the boot during Trump's first term and were shocked when their good hombre was deported.

Helen Beristain later said she regretted her vote. She sold the restaurant to join her husband in Mexico with their kids.

There may be DEATH, but they voted badly!!

There has to be punishment, our new Golden God says so!!

by Anonymousreply 11November 7, 2024 10:17 PM

Remember how people were emboldened to outwardly hate after Trump was elected the first time? This will be a million times worse.

Once again, they’ll come for the illegals then who knows who is next?

Let them get what they voted for. I am tired of caring about people who refuse to care for themselves. He said out loud repeatedly what he plans to do, and yet they chose not to believe him. Uhh, where is my popcorn?? Let the show begin.

I have read multiple posts on Reddit saying "He only wants to deport illegals..." The guy who endorsed the RAISE act to try and cut legal immigration, "only targets illegals..." Sure Man. How about actually listening to news outside of the social media echo chamber, Fox, and Joe Rogan for once. This "man" is a detestable human and I will gladly watch anyone who voted for him get their face eaten when their taxes skyrocket, their loved ones are deported, and they can't get health insurance anymore because COPD from smoking three packs a day is a pre-existing condition and Trump has gutted Obama Care into meaninglessness.

Don't ask me to be the compassionate bigger person any more. I have been doing that and it clearly doesn't work. If they want so badly to be eaten by wolves, let them be eaten. This is not a liberal v. Republican thing. I know there were a few Republicans who understood the assignment. But the MAGA trolls who think DJT gives a damn about them if they are worth less than eight figures, can't wait for them to get burned. If you voted for literally the most detestable human on the face of this planet after J6, frankly, fuck you.

As for the rest of us, I hope everyone is being proactive and securing their finances. Real estate prices will skyrocket along with property taxes under Trump. The tarries will also affect many food sectors and retail is already planning to increase prices as a response. Expect inflation to soar again within a year or two. Please set up a reasonable savings plan if you don't already have one. I hope the best for every sane American.

by Anonymousreply 13November 7, 2024 10:46 PM

^Tariffs not tarries

by Anonymousreply 14November 7, 2024 11:11 PM

Since we are so pro-deportation, I propose we eject anyone over the age of 18 who hasn't yet quite figured out how a lot is spelled.

by Anonymousreply 15November 8, 2024 4:14 PM

Just keep all the well endowed ones!

by Anonymousreply 16November 8, 2024 4:56 PM

Who’s going to mow my lawn?

by Anonymousreply 17November 8, 2024 5:00 PM

R16 The "illegals" didn't vote for him (they can't vote). The "legals" are the ones who voted for him. Frankly, I'd prefer the latter group be the ones deported.

by Anonymousreply 18November 9, 2024 7:42 PM

But many of the legal ones are responsible for bringing family members to the United States illegally.

by Anonymousreply 19November 9, 2024 7:53 PM

Democratic never learn the lesson. These people gonna vote for Trump eventually. Deport all of them !

by Anonymousreply 20November 9, 2024 7:54 PM

I have a strong feeling that they are only really concerned with the black and brown illegals...not rich assholes from, let's say, South Africa, or Slavic prostitutes and mobsters.

by Anonymousreply 21November 9, 2024 8:50 PM

Whenever the subject of mass deportations comes up the first thing white people say is "who's going to pick lettuce and clean my house and mow my lawn?"

Gotta love it!

by Anonymousreply 22November 9, 2024 9:16 PM

As long as my cleaning lady and yard guy/handyman are fine, then I really don't care. I just wonder where all these construction companies are going to find workers now. Not my problem.

by Anonymousreply 23November 9, 2024 9:20 PM

A crime against humanity

by Anonymousreply 24November 9, 2024 9:22 PM

r7 "Can you start with the Latino men who voted badly"?

So you're thinking it's cool to look into how an individual voted, then treat them accordingly? What will you do when the rethugs start doing that to those of us who voted for Harris?

by Anonymousreply 25November 9, 2024 9:23 PM

[quote]A crime against humanity

How? They're not being killed. They're economic opportunists who think they can jump the line and not go through legal channels. Fuck 'em. The migrants in NYC are disgusting and causing a lot of crime.

I don't know what the second choice in the poll means. Is it Golden Girls? I guess I agree. Whatever.

by Anonymousreply 27November 9, 2024 9:25 PM

It sucks and we tried to warn them. Unless we win the house, we won’t have any power at all. It’s not like we can stop what they’re going to do.

by Anonymousreply 28November 9, 2024 9:27 PM

Remember how the right wing smeared Clinton for the removal of Elian Gonzalez and then didn't care when tons of other refugee children were forcibly separated from their parents because it was trump who was doing it?

by Anonymousreply 29November 9, 2024 9:28 PM

R8, oh boo hoo. Round them up, put them in prison for years, and then deport.

by Anonymousreply 30November 9, 2024 9:30 PM

Give the people what they wanted.

by Anonymousreply 31November 9, 2024 9:30 PM

I heard that it will be logistically impossible to implement it totally. And would cost hundreds million of dollars maybe even billions. So like the great wall of Mexico, only a tiny fraction would actually be affected.

by Anonymousreply 32November 9, 2024 9:38 PM

Didn’t there used to be immigration raids pre 1990’s? I mean, Cheech and Chong movies feature them and Cheech Marin made a whole movie about it called Born In East LA! Wasn’t deportation once a normal thing that might happen to people who snuck into the country?

I hope the people get what they voted for!

by Anonymousreply 33November 9, 2024 9:48 PM

It's cute that some of you think the "rounding up the people we want gone" will stop at illegal aliens.

I really don't care.

by Anonymousreply 36November 9, 2024 11:04 PM

It’s hard to care since they don’t care about us.

by Anonymousreply 37November 9, 2024 11:40 PM

I support "self deportation." That is if we get rid of their ability to work (mandatory REAL worker IDs) and get rid of most welfare (except health care since I am human)--- they will leave without having to round up anyone.

by Anonymousreply 38November 9, 2024 11:42 PM

Send the illegals to Ukraine. Make them fight in the war.

by Anonymousreply 39November 10, 2024 2:04 AM

Face it, the opportunities here are for jobs that require little skill. Our own citizens, don’t seem to fill these roles yet on average our executive functioning is not the highest in the first world. I’ve always wondered if we had a more progressive government and society, could we afford to be more selective but at the same time have a steady stream of competitive applicants.

by Anonymousreply 40November 10, 2024 2:46 AM

All Latinos whose families were jere before 1600 can stay, deport all the others, that would be 99%, send them back across the river with a maggat under each arm, i told Eldergay we would limit mexican restaurants from now on, we have plenty of other places not owned by a bunch of beaners.

by Anonymousreply 41November 10, 2024 3:27 AM

You will care when it's you or your loved one(s).

by Anonymousreply 42November 10, 2024 3:51 AM

But it’s not my loved ones. It will be the Trump-supporting Latinos’ loved ones.

by Anonymousreply 43November 10, 2024 1:01 PM

Mass deportations will be crazy expensive and tank the economy. It would be utter chaos. There will be apt comparisons to concentration camps.

This is what America voted for. Let go for it.

by Anonymousreply 44November 10, 2024 1:17 PM

[Quote] The migrants in NYC are disgusting and causing a lot of crime.

They’re not but hey, I don’t care about the lies any more.

Trump is disgustingly and causing lots of crime, but no one is deporting him

by Anonymousreply 45November 10, 2024 1:19 PM

[quote] and loosing all those pairs of hands doing work

Let’s tighten them then.

Oh, dear!

by Anonymousreply 46November 10, 2024 1:24 PM

No good will come from it directly. Indirectly there may be enormous good when it begins to affect the loved ones of Dump supporters.

by Anonymousreply 47November 10, 2024 1:26 PM

Who is going to murder, slaughter, and chop up into bite size pieces the millions of mammals that Americans need to snack upon? Who will make our birds into nuggets and help the pigs fit in the blankets?

Deportations will also signal that anyone can beat up and kill immigrants. Just as Trumps anti- Asian language during Covid caused tons of anti-Asian violence. It always trickles down

Trump’s border czar Tom Homan clarifies exactly how military will be used for mass deportations, debunks frenzied liberal speculation

by Anonymousreply 50November 19, 2024 11:40 PM

President-elect Trump’s new border czar is giving more clarity on exactly how the military will be used to aid in the mass deportations of illegal immigrants that the incoming administration has promised.

Tom Homan, who served as the acting director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) during Trump’s first term, debunked frenzied speculation from some liberals that the military could be deployed to arrest people on US streets — saying that service members would be used for “non-enforcement” duties.

“They certainly can handle transportation, whether that’s ground transportation or air transportation… and certainly help building infrastructure,” he told The Post.

He called the military’s role “administrative” — intended to put ICE agents back in the field after up to 70% of personnel were assigned to other duties like helping to process incoming migrants.

“The more non-enforcement work [the Department of Defense] can do, releases more enforcement officers on the street to look for the bad guys,” Homan said.

by Anonymousreply 51November 19, 2024 11:40 PM

Trump confirmed Monday that he will declare a “national emergency” and use “military assets” to deport illegal migrants once he returns to the White House.

The president-elect made his plans clear on Truth Social, where he responded “TRUE!!!” to a post from Judicial Watch chief Tom Fitton revealing his hopes for such a plan.

“GOOD NEWS: Reports are the incoming @RealDonaldTrump administration prepared to declare a national emergency and will use military assets to reverse the Biden invasion through a mass deportation program,” Fitton wrote on the social media platform.

by Anonymousreply 52November 19, 2024 11:41 PM

Active-duty troops are barred from carrying out domestic law enforcement duties under the 1878 Posse Comitatus Act, but the military has still historically been able to assist law enforcement agencies in other ways.

“When I worked with the National Guard, we would do things with the FBI, ATF or DEA. We would be doing a large bust and we would provide overwatch from helicopters, we would provide drone support, we would do all of those things,” Davis Younts, a retired Air Force lieutenant colonel and military defense attorney, told The Post.

One major hinderance to ICE’s ability to make arrests will be with sanctuary cities that prevent local law enforcement officers from communicating with the feds on the basis of immigration status.

Homan says that will not stop ICE from making arrests, but warned sanctuary leaders that it could mean more illegal immigrants will be arrested as an unintended result.

“I just can’t believe any mayor or governor who’s out they’re saying they’re gonna roadblock us would not want public safety threats out of their communities,” said Homan.

“They don’t want to help us in the jail then we’ll go to into the community and arrest them. And what happens in the community when we find the bad guy, the chances are he’s with others, so others are going to be arrested that weren’t even on the radar, but you know what, sanctuary city policies forced us in that position,” he added.

He also warned sanctuary leaders during a recent appearance on “Fox & Friends” against “harboring illegal aliens,” which is a felony.
