The politics of this are kind of strange, but interesting. We all know there are a significant number of Democrats or at least leftists who might be Democrats, and who hate Israel and especially Netanyahu. At the same time, Netanyahu is a guy that hates the Democratic Party and really sees himself as an ally of Trump and Republicans, more than an ally of the U.S. He now got his wish of another Trump presidency.

We should lean into that, as Democrats. Biden and Harris were in a terrible position of having to be the champions of the old alliance between the U.S. and Israel since Israel was founded while recognizing that their own party was having some second thoughts and that Netanyahu was working against them. It's probably time to acknowledge the split, and lean much more toward an anti-netanyahu position. Immediate ceasefire, immediate withdrawal combined with return of the hostages, complete withdrawal of those fucking obnoxious settlers from the West Bank. No more pussyfooting about this shit. Make the new Democratic Party position more pro-Palestinian, anti-Netanyahu and his rightwing idiot government, and emphatically 2-state solution, while the Trump Cult emphatically calls for an Israel is Always Right strategy. Make it a big fight, even while recognizing we will lose some Israel is Always Right types on our side.

Keep of course Israel as a sovereign entity with a right to defend its actual sovereignty, but stop with the horseshit about the occupied territories. And state clearly that whatever had to happen after October 7th, and yes, it was going to be bloody and terrible, but whatever had to happen is now over. Whatever purpose it served is now done. And at this point Israel is just dicking around in Gaza for no particular reason, and it's time to get their asses out.
