What's Everyone Doing To Take A Breather Tonight?

My boss and I had already decided to work this entire week from home, so I'm grateful that today I didn't need to put on a happy face or really face anyone except if I decided I wanted to go out and grab a bite.

Boss also said to take it easy and take care of my mental health today, so I've just been working at a slow, steady speed. Unfortunately, DL - which has always been a sanctuary for me during rough and emotional times - hasn't exactly been the sanctuary I need right now with so many threads dedicated to this sad and disappointing turn of events.

I'll get another bottle or two of wine and Star Trek - Enterprise/Voyager/Deep Space Nine again tonight and try to believe things will die down a bit over the next few days and that every single place I go won't have Trump or Elon's face plastered everywhere. And of course I have my pup to pet, so that's helpful as well.

Our 6yo was picking up on all the sad/bad vibes from her dads, so I’m sitting in a booth at Chuck E Cheese letting her go giddy and wild on the games for 60min unlimited.

I have a three month old puppy who is keeping me mildly distracted. He radiates joy and warms my weary heart. I cannot fathom how I'd be doing right now if I didn't have this tiny, innocent little character in the home. I'd be utterly bereft and bedridden, probably.

I worked only a half-day today (was pre-scheduled; nothing to do with election). Got my flu shot today. I'll record the MSNBC election recap that's scheduled for 7:00 tonight and will watch it later. Maybe I'll watch a Harry Potter movie or something.

This is a night for Hallmark movies.

Trying to keep my head up. When all I wanted to do all day is be in a fetal position. Curtailed my work load and came home and cried like a freaking baby at Kamala’s concession speech. Kissed and hugged my cat. Trying to take pleasures in the little things, with the future so uncertain for all of us. Leftover pizza for dinner. I’ll try to confine it to one day of mourning. I love Only Murders, R12. Season four has been my least favorite, but even at it's "worst" it's still one of the best things out there. It got a lot better in the second half of the season. I LOVED season three, that Broadway stuff had me doubled over with laughter. Love the cute little deaf guy, too. The chemistry of three leads give me such joy. It's truly a comfort show.
