Project 2025's Top Priorities
This is what we can expect as soon as that fucker returns to the Oval Office:
Overhauling the federal government and inserting more political appointees aligned with Trump's ideology into executive branch positions.
Implementing aggressive immigration policies, including mass deportations and strict border control measures.
Cutting or eliminating various federal agencies and programs, such as the Department of Education and Department of Homeland Security.
Reforming the Federal Reserve and potentially returning to the gold standard.
Implementing conservative social policies, including restricting abortion access, limiting LGBTQ+ rights, and promoting "Christian nation-ism".
Reducing environmental and climate change regulations to favor fossil fuels.
Cutting Medicare and Medicaid programs.
Implementing tax cuts and reforming the tax system.
Taking a more isolationist and protectionist approach to foreign policy and international relations.
Expanding executive powers and dismantling what they call the "deep state"

It's not "limiting" LGBT rights. They have stated they will overturn all federal LGBT anti-discrimination laws, legal protections and remove mention of LGBT people from all federal government policy. Then when they've done that they want gay marriage gone. It incenses them that gay people can get married because we are abominations to god and decency and lessens their marriages. The GOP have the house, senate, POTUS and SCOTUS. They don't even need executive orders to do these things now.
And as quick reminder to those who have forgotten or continue to pretend that the GOP is some great supporter of the gays and that they "have absolutely no problem with gays - just the transes"- as soon as Trump took office in 2017 he removed all mention of LGBT people from federal government websites. That means gays and lesbians. He personally ordered it done.

Gay marriage was passed through Congress. They can't ban that outright. It might revert to a state-by-state thing, but part of the legislation was to require that all states abide by the Full Faith and Credit clause, so a marriage performed in NY must be recognized by, say, Mississippi, with all that entails.

I'm just taking this from Google, don't shoot the messenger:
Project 2025 does not explicitly call for overturning same-sex marriage, but it does contain several concerning proposals related to LGBTQ+ rights and same-sex marriage:
1. It aims to prioritize families "comprised of a married mother, father, and their children" over other family structures.
2. Treating same-sex marriages as "second-class marriages".
3. It proposes redirecting federal funds to support a "biblically based" definition of family.
4. The plan suggests replacing policies related to LGBTQ+ equity with those that "support the formation of stable, married, nuclear families".
5. It calls for protecting adoption and foster care services that refuse to work with LGBTQ+ married couples.
6. States that children should be raised by their "biological" fathers and mothers because the "male-female dyad is essential to human nature".
While Project 2025 doesn't explicitly call for overturning same-sex marriage, these proposals could significantly undermine the rights and protections of same-sex married couples if implemented. Additionally, some experts are concerned that if Obergefell v. Hodges (the Supreme Court case that legalized same-sex marriage nationwide) were to be overturned, states with existing bans on same-sex marriage could reinstate those bans.

They'd need 60 votes in the Senate, r6. And the bill that was passed was bipartisan, so good luck. And, like I said, if Obergafell was overturned, Congress passed a law to insure those rights won't go away. I don't know why they didn't do the same with abortion, but whatever. I don't give a shit about that anymore. Let them bleed out in parking lots.

I don't think a lot of people understand the concept of "dictator" and what it all entails.
For starters, it means niceties like getting Congressional approval for legislation is out the fucking window.
The dictator initiates the legislation; the legislature rubber stamps it. That's how a dictatorship works. That's the system we now find ourselves under.

Millions of Americans are going to die after they repeal the ACA, raise prices of life saving medicines, and outlaw vaccines.
Millions.
I guess Gen X fraus will get their cheap eggs and Latino men can keep their women in the kitchen (where some will bleed out and die).
I need to find a way to be like a typical conservative and not care about the Americans who will die like this. Help me, DL. How do they do it?
How do they justify cheaper eggs and the subjugation of women with the death of millions of people who are walking around, working, talking, loving one another, studying, chatting with their grandson, gardening, or finally falling in love?

For those of you who screech that a codified law can't be overturned above. [bold]A codified law can be overturned by another bill proposing its nullification[/bold]. The proposed bill needs to be introduced and approved by the house majority then the senate majority and then signed into law. It's time some of you Americans learned how your political system works. Essentially, this will send gay marriage and rights to the states just like with abortion. If anything goes to SCOTUS they will support the GOP position.
R5 - great summary but read between the lines of what you've posted. What do you think all those words and policies mean working in conjunction? They mean precisely what I posted in R1.
The bottom line is that they strongly believe we got too uppity. We aren't equal to them they are incensed that we think we. They horrified that we are being treated as equal to them and they won't have it. Now it's time for our reckoning. However, one thing I don't think will happen is any serious attempts to making homosexuality illegal again. There might be dog whistles and noises made about doing so by some of the MAGA and I'm sure a lot of them would like to but that's a step too far even for them and will be totally unnecessary because they will have gutted the foundation we built over the past 60 years.

The Trans Community are in for a very difficult time. Trump is going to immediately executive action to band them in sports. The Supreme Court is (extremely) likely to ban minors and gender affirming care. Also the most "famous" Trans Activist did NOT endorse Kamala. As crazy as it sounds a lot of Social Media Influencers were against Kamala because of her position of TikTok being sold. That's why the TikTokers told people to vote but didn't endorse Harris. It affects their purse strings.

Project 2025 is not going after gay marriage. There is nothing to suggest they are going to go after gay marriage.
But STDs and HIV may be a different matter in this admin. And when it’s about infectious disease many supportive straights will end up being a whole lot less supportive, if camps come or criminality is an issue they will be infectious disease camps and arrests to stem infections.
There was a lot of straight anger around monkeypox. Or another gay male STD outbreak or epidemic, CDC has always gone out of their way to be protective. That’s likely about to change
I see not using a condoms as a potential crime for the high risk , high risk as defined by Trumps new CDC.

it's been my experience that dictator types don't typically 'follow the rules'. so you folks who think the guardrails will protect are sadly misguided. However, we are not at the top of their list. First, they will do the deportations of any brown skinned folks (hey, let the courts sort it out later). Second, they go after Muslims (hey, let the courts sort it out later). , Third, you will start seeing large groups homeless, vagrants, etc. tents suddenly disappear (hey, where did they go? no biggie, they were a public nuisance). and then they come for us . How does an all expense paid stay at barbed wire re-education facility in Wyoming sound?

R37 yes family values. That is one reason gay marriage will not be attacked. They see marriage as a good thing. And just because they are pro family values that does not mean they are anti gay marriage. If they are going after gay marriage as you claim they for some reason forgot to mention one fucking word about it.
And the next epidemic, just watch how soon they start suggesting the need for law enforcement. The need to stop the infections.the need to,protect the vast majority. The need to arrest the non condom users who are high risk,
This shit was sure being discussed in 1982. And we are such a different govt and cdc starting in 2025.
This is where you need to be worried not gay marriage, Gay whores are a different matter. The times have changed. Or will be soon.

Project 2025 specifically states that marriage is a binary construct, R40: male/female. Not male/male, not female/female, not trans womyn/trans man.
You can smell your desperation to believe gay marriage is sacrosanct with Republicans it's total 100% bullshit You can twist yourself like a pretzel pretending you're not like "the rest of us," but the bottom line is to the Republicans: you're a fag, plain and simple, and your marriage is an abomination.

R40 - a return to "traditional family values" means STRAIGHT people R40. [bold]Heterosexuals ONLY.[/bold] It does not mean abominable gay people. In fact - a return to "traditional family values" specifically means the exclusion of gay people from marriage rights, relationship recognition under the law and from being able to raise children because we are total abominations to them. It means the exclusion of gay people being able to be treated equally because their core belief is that we are not equal. We are lesser, disgusting scum who offend every level of their being and they are absolutely incensed that we can get married, adopt children or have children, be around children and act like we are their equals. These are the facts.
On another note; I've seen a number of your posts on DL in the past 24 hours and I am very concerned about you. You seem to be very unstable and you have an rigidly determined agenda. You also seem to intensely dislike and be deeply ashamed of other gay people and believe that we are all diseased faggots. Essentially, you are deeply ashamed of yourself. Good points R48. Here are some of the bills Florida passed along with the Don't Say Gay laws.
Attempts to implement laws like these are what we can expect to see nationwide now.
One of the laws (SB 1580) provides protections for medical professionals and healthcare services to refuse to medically treat homosexuals if they morally or religiously object to homosexuality. This includes firing LGBT people who work in the medical profession if they want to for no reason other than the person is LGBT.
[italic]"This bill includes any healthcare provider or facility licensed under a dozen different statutes, including doctors, nurses, pharmacies, hospitals, mental health providers, medical transport services, clinical lab personnel, nursing homes, and more. Additionally, the bill allows providers to refuse to provide any type of “healthcare service,” broadly defined as including, but not limited to, medical research, medical procedures, testing, diagnosis, referral, dispensing medications, therapy, recordkeeping, and “any other care or service.”[/italic]
The laws took effect on July 1, 2023.
