At least to the extent that it didn’t get them to the polls to vote against Trump? The numbers are staggering when it comes to women and which ones voted for him. Again, black women are the only ones who voted overwhelmingly against him. All the others voted for him in huge numbers. This is also the guy who calls them pigs and not human. Should we just give up on women? I mean, if they’re not even going to help themselves, why should gay men care?
Why do women not care enough about abortion

In my state, women do care about abortion rights and they voted for a measure protecting abortion rights. On the flip side, they also voted for Trump.

I wonder how many conservative husbands sit down with their wives and make sure how they vote. Those women have been trained since infancy to think of themselves only after they’ve fed their husbands and cleaned up after him and deferred to him in every way and in so doing, pleased God. And if they can’t afford to live on their own after divorcing him and while raising kids, they’re just totally screwed.

They don’t. This is how brain dead Dataloungers and Democrats are. The majority of MAGAts who are married, the wife is more of a MAGAt than the husband. This isn’t 1953. Women are in charge and they hate women with a passion and white women love a daddy figure. Women are better candidates for getting involved in cults than men are. They’re more emotional than men. They’re easily manipulate and big time manipulators themselves. Black women seem to be the only ones who don’t buy into it but they have their own issues as well.
The problem is American culture or lack thereof. We’ve removed religion so people worship politics and politicians now. And it’s isn’t just America. Fascism is cropping up all over the Western world.

Looking at the NBC News article linked in the Exit Polls Autopsy thread, the group that most supports trump is white men. Why don’t they give a shit if their wives/sisters/daughters/mothers die from lack of access to abortion or medical care for micarriages? If we’re looking to point fingers at one particular group for a 2nd trump term, white males are to blame.

I think the rich know they are going to be able to buy their way out of that problem. Rich Right wing women don't care about the poor folk who need to go to Planned Parenthood or the girls from the wrong side of the tracks who may have to use a coat hanger.
All they care about is keeping their wealth and "elite" or "blessed" lifestyles, to hell with everyone else. These ladies love Trump because a lot of them love a rich / bad boy.
They also don't care about children after they're born, to hell with them too unless we can keep a percentage dumb, stupid and doing what we expect them to - producing more of the proletariat. But we sure don't want to have to pay for them children - no entitlements! No more taxes!

The Dems thought that all women were going to vote pro-choice, when the fact is that many, especially in the over 50 group think abortion is murder. The Dems became disillusioned when a few red states voted to put choice in their constitution to the point that it became just about the only issue they ran on. So, don't vilify women; blame the defeat on the stupidity of the Democratic " strategists."

But of course, blame women like the actual mysoginsts you are.
by Anonymous | reply 40 | November 7, 2024 11:52 AM |
Alot of women don't like abortion, they may not think it should be illegal, though many do, but they dont like the "idea" of it...which affects how little they go out and vote on that particular subject. This is especially true of more moderate leaning and/or conservative women. It's a touchy subject, an uncomfortable one. They might say in a poll they believe it should be legal but they won't go out and vote for it.
Also, regardless of the outcome most don't truly believes the government will outright ban abortion. I think the idea is that it will become harder to get in a few very red states, and that's about it. And in those very red states, progresive women are a minority, and conservative women are, well, not. So in the states where it matters most, where abortion really is in danger, people care less.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | November 7, 2024 12:27 PM |
The government can ban abortions all they want. Doesn't mean abortions won't happen.
by Anonymous | reply 42 | November 7, 2024 12:35 PM |
The government once banned the manufacture, distribution and sale of alcoholic beverages. It didn't stop people from drinking alcoholic beverages, not by a long shot.
by Anonymous | reply 43 | November 7, 2024 12:37 PM |
A lot of states had abortion proposals on the ballot and most voted to protect abortion rights while also voting for Trump. Do keep in mind that while Roe v. Wade was overturned, handing it back to the states still gave women an opportunity to vote on that specific issue and protect abortion rights. Title IX, however, is a different story. Yes, I'm implying that the trans issue was a huge deal. Even Morning Joe acknowledged this.

by Anonymous | reply 47 | November 7, 2024 1:36 PM |

I don't hate women; I just don't understand them. There are more women than men; they vote more often than men; they can control everything if they want, but because they tend to hate each other, they cannot cross the finish line. And I realize that may be a total generalization, but it sure seems that way.
by Anonymous | reply 49 | November 7, 2024 1:49 PM |
Women loving other women wont help them cross the finish line. Theyd need the support of the people who have been in charge for millennia- men- for that to happen.
The men who are in charge will screw over their brothers in a nanosecond, they sure aint going to help women and it shows that being from the same sex doesn't engender loyalty.

Abortion rights have always been split down the middle between men and women. Most anti-abortion groups are predominantly run and organized by women.
by Anonymous | reply 52 | November 7, 2024 2:24 PM |
Let’s be honest.
The Democratic Party and mainstream media is telling women to divide themselves. They’re telling white American women that their husbands and fathers and sons are hateful dangerous rapists and women need to unite to fight them and the patriarchy.
That’s an easier sell to black women because the “men ain’t shit” independent woman rhetoric has been apart of the community going back to the 1970s with the disenfranchisement of black families. That’s why black women are attacking black men on social media who are the only male group with Asians to consistently vote as a majority for female Presidential candidates who support LGBT and immigration.
Everything people here are saying about women is sexist bullshit. That they’re all brainwashed and easy to control and too catty to be logical is so ironic because it’s coming from supposed pro-feminist liberals
The radicalism on the left and right have destroyed both parties but the left radicalism clearly isn’t working anymore.
I am a liberal and I’ve taken this win to reflect what’s wrong with the Democratic Party because I can’t sit around blaming the “Nazis” anymore. Something is wrong with the liberal left and you can see it all here in this thread.
A lot of you are the reason why we lost.

Maybe they don't have sex. Maybe they are infertile. Past 40, it's hard for a woman to get pregnant. Past 45, it's almost impossible. So, if you consider that most women live into their late 70's or 80's, the years they are eligible to vote are longer than their childbearing years.

You are a treasure, R15.
When you lump all women together like R15 you sound just as unhinged, bigoted and dangerous as Trump himself. I'm sure all my women friends and relatives who voted for Kamala, who fought for abortion then and now, who fought for same-sex marriage, who got ordained to marry their gay male friends in beautiful ceremonies, who volunteer at survival centers, at schools, at river cleanups, at senior centers, who nurture entire communities with their huge caring hearts, will understand when uterine cancer comes for them, that they deserved it because some uppity conservative bitches voted from the wrong candidate and tainted all of womanhood with that vote.
I mean, you sound fucking nuts, and very biblical. Eve ate the apple and now all of womanhood is cursed, is that it? The actions of a few now have cursed all women? Gross.
If 52% of women voted for Trump, that means 48% did NOT. Nearly the same total that voted FOR him, voted against him. Those 48% of women who were devastated by the 2024 election results should not be shit on with the same shit brush as the conservative white Christian women who voted for a weird patriarch for president.

[quote]I don't hate women; I just don't understand them.
R49, It's not rocket science. Women are individuals, not a monolith. And just like with men, their religion (or lack thereof), level of education (or lack thereof) and and cultural indoctrination (or lack thereof) influences their outlook on the issues, their expectations and priorities, and the way they vote. If you are trying to understand ALL WOMEN...their thoughts, their little ways.... as though they were a single cloned organism, you are of course going to be confused, and not understand. Because just like their are a ton of different kinds of men, there are different kinds of women. White and straight. Brown and straight. White and gay. Christian or Wiccan. Southern or East Coast. West coast or midwest. Asian pansexual. Trans. Mormon. It goes on and on.
But you knew all of this.

Remember, most of the women did not vote for Trump, they voted for how they felt when Trump was last in office. It isn't easy to understand, but a lot of people - even highly educated people - vote on feelings, not facts. I've heard so many people say, "I hate the guy, but I like how I felt about my finances when he was in office. That's why I voted for him."

So white women voted for Trump in 2016, 2020 and 2024 at 51%, 53% and 52% respectively. I was hoping for a significant drop in support this year after it was proved in court that he is a rapist and he appointed 3 super right wing extremist judges to overturn Roe v. Wade, and he was convicted for 34 felonies. I expected the drop in support to be at least in the mid 40%, but white women don't learn anymore than any other demographic.

And the voters didn't believe her since she was invisible for the three and a half years preceding her nomination. Then, all of a sudden, she comes up with these " programs" to save the middle class. Where has the administration been? Why were they not concerned with the working class before and, if they were, why were they so silent about it? To most people they were letting illegals in, promoting trans rights, DEI, and abortion. Now, the new programs looked like pandering. The people just didn't buy it.

R69 The primary goal under the first Biden administration was to get the COVID under control, find a risk averse way to transition back to normal from lock-down environment a large portion was under. Give people financial assistance to live until they can work, go to school, and manage regular living again. Also in keeping the economy from going into a deep recession as most economists predicted. In reality Biden was the most successful presidential administration in getting positive and meaningful legislation passed since LBJ in the 1960s. The less urgent policies and programs you mentioned were starting to be implemented in 2023-2024. The immigration issue was going to be substantial addressed with the bipartisan bill , but as you probably SHOULD know Trump instructed his Republicans cronies in congress to kill the bill, so it can remain an unresolved and open wedge issue for him to campaign on.
by Anonymous | reply 70 | November 7, 2024 9:14 PM |
R70, this is what I have tried to explain to people. We had high inflation mainly due to the supply chain issues caused by the pandemic but also because Biden's administration made the decision to prioritize low unemployment vs low inflation (via the multiple rounds of stimulus checks). That was a mistake but these voters just punished the administration big time over that. Oh well. As deficit spending grows, good luck getting the federal government to provide generous stimulus checks to the ungrateful public the next time a major depression/recession hits. Frankly, let them suffer..
by Anonymous | reply 71 | November 7, 2024 9:26 PM |
Trump's killing of the bi-partisan bill came far after the damage had already been done. Before the killing of the bill, the Biden Administration did nothing, even as Dem mayors were pleading for help. During the campaign, the Dems always brought up the bi-partisan bill, because they could not justify their inaction before the bill. I'm sure New Yorkers and citizens of northern cities designated " sanctuary cities" were thrilled with the result of the inaction. Well, the Repub governors called their bluff and, as you can see, Republican votes in those cities shot up. Biden, et al fucked this one up big time.
