Re the UK, the Ukrainian refugees who came here in the last 3 years were welcomed warmly. The only pushback was from the ridiculous Channel 4 news who ran a story about how one Ukrainian family didn't like living amongst muslims.

Afghan refugees have largely been supported, with a campaign to grant former interpreters asylum. JK Rowling funded flights out of Kabul and was largely praised for it.

What is unpopular are the largely young men who are coming over on the small boats from France as economic migrants who can easily get work in the food delivery business. The idea that France is an unsafe country is ridiculous.

And it goes without saying that the immigrants already here - the 3rd/4th/5th generation from Jamaica, India, Ghana etc, feel the same way as the "indigenous" Britains because their public services are impacted by this as well.
