WHAT IF it was Josh Shapiro who ran?
What I mean is, someone with no direct correlation to the Biden administration. Do you think the election results would have been different?
I do. I don't think Kamala's loss had as much to do with her being black and female as it had to do with her attachment to Biden.

It is possible Shapiro, Newsom or Whitmer could have won, but we were deprived of the chance to hold a primary to find out.
This was a rejection of the Biden administration and what they represented, which was seeming indifference to quality of life issues.

She had a tsunami of negatives. She was a horrible candidate in 2020 and then a horrible vice president. However, I don't think it was as much her fault as I initially did. A lot of things were just out of her control. Plus the DNC politburo installed her. An open convention would not have picked her. Her being tied to Biden was just something she couldn't overcome.

Enough with the what-if’s. When people spoke up and said we need to ELECT someone no one wanted to hear it. Now it’s “what if”.
This is the consequence of being so arrogant the Dems couldn’t see the big picture, even when warned.

I don't understand the Biden hate. He beat Trump, led us out of Covid. Prices are down, inflation is down, crime is down, unemployment is low, interest rates are down. He erased student debt for millions. Brought us the first female VP and the first African-American woman on the SCOTUS. And he seems like an honest, decent, likable guy. Yet we're always told how much we dislike him.

R5 we're told by MAGA how much to dislike him - and the fact is, old Joe was too out of it to really put up much of a fight. Too busy trying to hide his deficits, and stay in power yet another term when obviously that wasn't feasible. Otherwise yes, we've done well under his administration.
But - as stated on another thread - visuals MATTER now. It was the appearance of incoherence and incompetence, next to a braying and energetic Trump, that led people to believe that Trump would be the better deal.
I don't know if even Biden could have stopped the outflow of young men ('douchebros'), Latino and Black males away from the Dems and over to Trump. This appears to have been the issue with this election.

R3, she wasn’t a horrible vice president. A VP does nothing, they’re an understudy to the pres, which she did fine. I can’t wait till JD Vance finds this out.

You're right. A VP does nothing. Usually. They are the ones that, from day one, kept communicating that she was a vital part of the team and in on every decision that was made. The last one to leave the room. The Biden-Harris administration. I long for the Harry Truman days when they sat in their office drinking whiskey and shaking hands. Devoid of ambition. Had she just toddled of to funerals she might have won.

I rarely saw Trump appear with J.D. They're two very different people with different backgrounds. And Shady said a lot of bad things about Trump which he won't forget. Don, Jr. picked him, and Trump thought he was going to lose to Kamala anyway so who cared?
Can you fire a VP?

R5, where have you been? Everybody BLAMES or credits the US president for WHATEVER HAPPENS. They don’t look at the fine print and they have the memory and knowledge of a gnat.
