THE PRESS IS DEAD TO ME!!!!

The press did this. NYT, WaPo, WSJ, USA TODAY, CNN, NPR, the big 3, never mind all the right wing propaganda channels.

YOU DID THIS!!!! You disgusting tax cut chasing CUNTS. "Biden's too old, he'd demented, he needs to leave the race." Then crickets for the stroke patient who talks about windmills and penis sizes.

YOU DID THIS!!!! Does of your readership, listenership, viewership, KNOW that the GOP is clear about wanting to INVADE MEXICO? That a war on our border will take place under this regime?

WE saved your asses 8 years ago. WE will not do it again. The American press is conservative biased and pro-Trump and this is the final proof. Democracy has died in the darkness YOU helped cast!!

I will enjoy watching a lot of legacy media go bankrupt over the next decade. Again, liberals won't subscribe and save your trifling asses this time.

by Anonymousreply 47November 24, 2024 3:45 PM

Have you seen their owners, OP? None of this is surprising to anyone who has.

by Anonymousreply 1November 6, 2024 3:20 PM

Well said OP. MSM has bought this on themselves. Whitewashing and sane washing all for Democracy to die a slow death.

by Anonymousreply 2November 6, 2024 3:26 PM

No OP the Press did not do this

This happened because PEOPLE DISLIKED THE BIDEN ADMINISTRATION FOR REASONS WHICH HE IS RESPONSIBLE

Bidenomics caused inflation

Biden’s bizarre immigration policies based on his philosophy of the US needing more exploitable workers caused a backlash

by Anonymousreply 3November 6, 2024 3:39 PM

I don't like woke democrats. the right person won.

by Anonymousreply 4November 6, 2024 3:42 PM

R1: Say it louder. There are some absolute CUNTS on this very lovely site of bitchery and wonder who will deny it and INSIST that the press is liberal.

by Anonymousreply 5November 6, 2024 3:42 PM

R4: Do you like me, r4? Do you want to SEX me? Do you want to SEX the Weatherfairy? Do you? Is that why you came into a thread about the god-damned worthless right wing press of America to post a totally irrelevant comment? To get my attention so that you might SEX me? You sad little obsessive troll.

by Anonymousreply 6November 6, 2024 3:45 PM

OP is right. The media normalized Trump. Basically turned everything in to He said-She said. As though they were just two equal people fighting for an equal place. It wasn't until a few days ago that the NY Times ran a few editorials but that meant nothing. By normalizing Trump for all these years, they made it clear that he and Harris, or Biden, or anyone else, were equals.

The mainstream media is over. Joe Rogan counts for more than the Times or the Post.

by Anonymousreply 7November 6, 2024 3:45 PM

Just dawned on me, the Corporation for Public Broadcasting will die now. I sure hope National rePublican Radio is proud of themselves, facilitating the death of all their federal funding.....

by Anonymousreply 8November 6, 2024 4:15 PM

The problem is that America has a hard on for fascism.

by Anonymousreply 9November 6, 2024 4:17 PM

They want the drama.

by Anonymousreply 10November 6, 2024 4:19 PM

"We are already seeing the rationalizing of how we got here and the blaming of the political party that, though flawed, actually reflects multiracial democracy. We must resist this. Voters knew exactly who Trump was and chose him anyway. This is not about the so-called excesses of the left. As the NYT editorial board writes, Trump ran the 'most racist, sexist, and xenophobic campaign in modern history.' As NYT reporter Lisa Lerer wrote today, 'This was a conquering of the nation not by force but with a permission slip. Now, America stands on the precipice of an authoritarian style of governance never before seen in its 248-year history.' This is the unsparing truth that we must confront."

by Anonymousreply 11November 6, 2024 4:19 PM

So what's next. What happens next?

by Anonymousreply 12November 6, 2024 4:42 PM

R12 Mass murder of our citizens, cleansing based on ethnicity or sexual orientation/gender identity.

Jan 6 was our Kristellnacht. It's only a matter of time before things escalate.

by Anonymousreply 13November 6, 2024 4:45 PM

True, but I'm 100% certain Biden would have been clobbered as well, and that brand of second-guessing would be enjoying its day.

Normalization of Trump in the mainstream media and in network news is definitely a reason for his reelection.

We should ghost all those places.

by Anonymousreply 19November 6, 2024 5:29 PM

I said it before the election that the media loves Trump's chaos. They normalized his abhorrent behavior. They better enjoy it now, because it won't be long before Trump and his MAGAts turn on them. And when they cry about journalists being intimidated and violations of press freedom, fuck them. You enabled it, now suffer the consequences.

by Anonymousreply 20November 6, 2024 5:36 PM

Trump is boffo box office. The "media" are dancing on their stock portfolios today.

by Anonymousreply 21November 6, 2024 5:39 PM

Journalists get it first under fascistic dictatorships.

I guess they have nothing to fear because they are not journalists, they are common streetwalkers who will do and say anything. If the price is right.

I'm sorry. I live in an enturely different world from OP. The media was constantly calling him out on his errors and lies. Coverage was very negative. To the point the NYT and others were actively calling his lies lies In articles which they don't usually do for other politicians' lies.

by Anonymousreply 23November 6, 2024 5:51 PM

Also, Biden would've lost by an even bigger margin than Harris. The NYT and others were right to push for his withdrawal.

by Anonymousreply 24November 6, 2024 5:52 PM

I hope Kamala runs in four years. The country knows who she is now and she may grow into the role of presumptive party head and bring factions together..?

Who am I kidding? We'd rather eat our young than all get along and work together - and here we are.

99.9% of the world can kiss my ass right now but I am glad for this site. Be kind to yourselves today. We all need to get through this.

by Anonymousreply 25November 6, 2024 6:31 PM

The press is biased, but despite the years of the right complaining it has a LIBERAL bias, it really has a CONSERVATIVE bias, with lots of sanewashing for horrifying actions.

by Anonymousreply 26November 6, 2024 6:55 PM

"First they came for the Press. (We don't know what happened afterwards)"

by Anonymousreply 27November 6, 2024 7:19 PM

I guess the constant narrative about women and reproductive rights being on the ballot was bollocks.

The most important issue is that a Big Mac costs two dollars more than it used to cost.

That really is the only thing that matters.

by Anonymousreply 28November 6, 2024 7:29 PM

Bread and circus, R28. Bread and circus.

by Anonymousreply 29November 6, 2024 7:32 PM

R28: On that front, I will chime in and say direct democracy is a curse. It allowed too many women to vote YES on legal abortion then turn around and vote for the Stroke Patient and his self-loathing eyeliner fag VP because "I voted for choice, I'm a good person, yes I am, I voted for it, see??" In their little selfis, peabrains, I guarantee that is the justification. Never mind the Stroke Patient is what brought us to this moment anyway, dipshits....

That wasn't enough. On every news platform they had some numbskull Trumper sane-washing his every outrageous action and utterance, and dismissing all the warnings his former inner circle was giving the American people. At the same time, they allowed editorials and commentary legitimizing America's "discontent" and so-called "kitchen table problems" and allowing Biden to be unfairly scapegoated for the natural consequence of a pandemic recovery. They did not remind people how horribly he handled the pandemic and how money was wasted and how people died unnecessarily.

by Anonymousreply 32November 8, 2024 12:51 PM

Legacy media only benefitted from this election, they will only lose subscribers - but temporarily

by Anonymousreply 33November 8, 2024 1:37 PM

[quote]The media was constantly calling him out on his errors and lies. Coverage was very negative.

The audience for right-wing social media, blogs and websites dwarfs that of all traditional media combined, and they are told day after day that Trump is a Godly and righteous man who is persecuted by his enemies because he's fighting relentlessly for the American people. That is the only "news" this audience attends to. That's (some of what) we're up against.

by Anonymousreply 34November 8, 2024 1:51 PM

No OP the press did not do this because that would require people to read it. People do not read the press anymore.

There is a sole individual responsible for this election, his name is Joseph Robinette Biden and he caused the loss by being a shitty President.

by Anonymousreply 35November 8, 2024 1:54 PM

The American electorate is responsible for the outcome of this election and they have no one else to blame but themselves. When given the chance to express there preferences, they chose the delusional felon for four-more years of hell. Flirting with authoritarianism and fascism is what the voting majority wanted and that's what we're ALL about to get, whether we want it or not.

by Anonymousreply 36November 9, 2024 12:47 AM

*express their preferences

by Anonymousreply 37November 9, 2024 12:48 AM

I am not tuning in. Not even curious how this ends. Completely disgusted and burnt out.

by Anonymousreply 38November 9, 2024 12:50 AM

They never used to treat David Duke this way.

by Anonymousreply 39November 9, 2024 12:51 AM

I think we should all completely ignore Trump and MAGA and get on with our happy lives. Deprive them of the attention they do desperately crave.

Also: DO NOT SUBMIT. DO NOT OBEY IN ADVANCE.

For all we know these jokers might accidentally set fire to themselves. Make them make the effort, every day, every hour. Give them nothing.

Bidenomics caused worldwide inflation?

by Anonymousreply 42November 9, 2024 4:17 AM

I’ll bite, R42.

Worldwide inflation came about post Covid in one way or another. In Europe, it was largely the supply chain shocks plus the impact of Russian gas being cut off with the Ukraine invasion, but prices came back down to what they were before Covid, especially consumer packaged goods.

In the US, the infrastructure act and inflation recovery act (ironically named) flooded the financial market with macroeconomic stimulus, which exacerbated supply chain inflation, especially when the administration took back consumer subsidies at the same time. In addition, US consumer goods multinationals used the pandemic and recovery to embark on a series of pricing tests, how much margin could they add to consumer prices to make up for losses during COVID and more, and what was the consumer breaking point. They went much higher in the US than they did in the rest of the world as US consumers are far more conditioned to be brand loyal at higher prices. But $7 for a box of Special K, or $18 for a Big Mac meal tested that to the limits. Kelloggs and McDonald’s got part of the blame and eventually lost revenue to the point they had to ratchet their margins back down, but they still took 25-40% price increases when all was accounted for. Biden got heat for overflooding the market with stimulus while not doing anything about the inflation at the consumer level, wrongly claiming pay rises would justify the higher prices. The American consumer/voter felt had.

Ridiculous supermarket prices never got as high in Europe and settled back down faster and closer to original prices. And that’s why Bidenomics cost the Democrats 2 1/2 years later…you have to factor the flavor and dynamics of American inflation vis a vis the rest of the world.

by Anonymousreply 43November 9, 2024 5:39 PM

Motherfuckers won't stop. It's called CORRUPTION, NYT. C-O-R-R-U-P-T-I-O-N.

by Anonymousreply 45November 23, 2024 9:40 PM

Biden achieved plenty in office, as seen by the assessment at r45. He and his people did a piss-poor job of publicizing it and letting people know about it though.

Biden is an older man, used to a certain way of doing things including disseminating information. Times have changed things in this area drastically, not only in the past few decades but just the past few years. He was never able to get his message or achievements out there, so he was defined by his opposition who had a much firmer grasp of New Media and how it works.

If the Dems wise up and figure out how to weaponize this successfully, you may see the tide turn

by Anonymousreply 46November 24, 2024 3:54 AM

Oh look, the owner of the LA Times has Words of Praise for the Stroke Patient's appointments.
