After All the Sturm und Drang

Sure, rampant foreign interference while the fascist nominee was in talks with the Russian monster.

Fair.

It was fair. The differences were too big for me to suspect foul play.

We'll never know.

You're not wrong, R1, but at the end of the day, Americans voted for this. In droves. The looked at our standing in the world and said we've got too much influence. They looked at our economy and said it was going too well, too well to be trusted to Democrats. They looked at our changing racial makeup and said there are too many non-white people enjoying their lives, too many rising into positions of authority. They looked at women and said they have too much bodily autonomy. They looked at climate change and decided cheap gas today is worth killing our grandchildren. Hitting closest to home, they looked at gay marriages and said we're too successful and happy. They looked at the trans movement and said... enough.

Enough to it all.

Because straight white Christian men not only deserve their position at the top of our societal order, that's not enough, They must prevent anyone and everyone else from attaining standing so as to threaten that position.

And if getting in bed with our mortal enemies, surrendering our global leadership, surrendering core Constitutional rights, and descending into the political structure that our grandparents fought and died to prevent from dominating the world 80 years ago is what it takes to halt social progress, so be it.
