… surrendering to hate and division and fear, not losing hope in a better future, not drowning in vices meant to soothe, not stopping helping neighbors and the world.
My side might have lost but I am not beat and I will never stop fighting.

The arc of the universe does not bend towards justice, it's been proven time and again, and I will punch the first bitch who posts a meme about it.

R1, we can agree to disagree but even if you’re right I won’t let it stop me.
At the center of what makes us human, there are only two emotions: fear and love.
Fear will overwhelm, diminish and destroy souls and hearts, and make things even worse.
Love will expand, grow and enrich souls and hearts, and make things better.
I will choose hope. I will choose love. To do anything else, no matter the logic of it, will give them the small patch of ground on which I stand and that is the only victory I control.

Since you are more ore less quoting Elisabeth Kübler Ross R2, at the end of her life she had this to say:
[quote]"My only regret is that for 40 years I spoke of a good God who helps people, who knows what you need and how all you have to do is ask for it. Well, that's baloney. I want to tell the world that it's a bunch of bull. Don't believe a word of it."

Seems like a waste of time. Just grieve and accept. You’re only setting yourself up for additional disappointment.

R3, in your own article EKR says she still believes in an after life and spirit guides. She also ends with:
[quote] Kubler-Ross doesn't miss a beat when asked which of the five stages of death she finds herself in at the moment. "Anger," she yells. "I'm pissed!"
This is my point. I will not allow anger to cloud the standards and morals which I have tried to uphold my entire life. Perhaps EKR isn’t having the same death, or gleaned the same lessons, but that doesn’t negate the beliefs and experiences of the people which she drew her work. Perhaps she feels she drew the wrong conclusions, though it sounds more like she’s frustrated by her inability to greatly change the medical system.
Regardless, I will not choose anger and fear.
R4, I understand your point but I believe that disappointment is only the shadow cast by creating, inventing, learning, friendship and love, and a whole host of other things I still want to do. If I lived my life trying to make sure I never again experience failure or disappointment I would have to stop doing the things that make life happy and productive.
