Also it's a global problem. Americans are notorious for being America-centric and not having a clue about the rest of the world, but the disinformation and manipulable-ness of populations is scary shit.

I was thinking about this last week, Obama wasn’t up against the Trump Misinformation Machine (TMM) at its full potential. He wouldn’t have stood a chance. I think he would’ve at least won the popular vote tho. CHRIST, I still don’t understand how a GODDAMN felon could run for POTUS.

This is the truest thing I’ve read today. Legacy media too early went with the dog and pony show and didn’t try to verify any of trump’s lies (and they are all lies). My (few) non-registered friends got slammed daily with disinformation about raping illegals and trans kids in schools. That wasn’t my friends’ fault, there is a worldwide assault on truth.

I disagree; the issue is Trump. The man is Teflon. One side of America sees him as a dangerous threat to democracy. The other side sees him as the silly drunk uncle without a filter. There is no legitimate way to run against that. It's clear now that Biden won because Trump fucked up Covid, but even that didn't stick to him.
