Not One Person had a factual reason to vote for Trump
Taxes? They are proposing a 25% national sales tax so poor people can't buy stuff.
Deficits? Trump added %8 trillion to the national debt and he wants more tax cuts for the rich and corporations so Social Security and Medicare will be cut. Obamacare will be destroyed so most people will go without insurance and die young. A death panel by a different name.
He plans to deport ag workers and impose huge tariffs on foreign producers which Americans will pay for with higher prices, particularly for food ( alot of AMerican don't realize most of our bread is made with wheat germ from China)
Overtime rules will be eliminated. Tort reform will stop anyone from suing an employer. Trump will assassinate domestic enemies but people will only know that others have disappeared mysteriously.
Every day will bring a new foreign poicy disaster. There will be a political purge of our generals, thus ensuring we lose any attempt to stop China from taking Taiwan. Trump will always put the energy company needs first, and damn climate change.
You will be told what books you can read and what opinions you can hold.
The middle class will finally be eliminated altogether. . Hyperinflaiton, no credit, millions of bankruptcies, it's all coming.

I am disgusted with such a large part of the population that includes those that voted for him and those that chose not to vote at all. I guess I should just enjoy these final months of the Affordable Care Act, Medicare, and Social Security. Yes, I want to leave but it also means leaving my country and starting a new life. He'll cut grocery prices! How? By deporting ag workers and putting tarris on any foreign foodstuffs coming in? That won't cut prices, Last time he fiddled with prices, were oil prices in 2020, when prevailed on Russia and Saudi Arabia to c ut production in order to raise prices on his little working stiffs in the USA. More than that, he's told so many lies for so long and broken so many promises you know you can't trust anything that comes out of his mouth! Inflation. In the last week of the campaign Trump was busy promising to cut gas prices in half the first day! How will he do that and also increase American production. Indeed in 2020 he prevailed on Saudi Arabia and Russia to cut production to support higher oil prices for his friends in the oil bizness. He also said he would cut grocery prices again. Not be deporting ag workers and raising high tariffs. And how would he pay for all this AND cut corporate and taxes for rich people? The only way would be raising interest rates and choking off all credit to the economy, or rapidly printing money ( i.e. inflation). No Trump had no "policies" to appeal to people and since he never kept ANY of his promises his first term - didn't build the wall, didn't create any infrastructure (Biden did), didn't replace Obamacare with something cheaper or better.....Trump would say anything to get elected, but he has no policies that would benefit the working class and I am quite sure they know that, despite the lies spread here by Russian trolls and conservatives.

That's the thing, R85, it doesn't have to make sense. Trump had no policies other than staying out of jail, retribution and mass deportation of brown people. Saying "I can fix it" and "there will be no inflation once I'm elected" aren't policies and he is too stupid to realize that you can't run a country on words alone, even though he's been in office before. All of his "concepts of a plan" and right-wing extremist fantasies will have costs and I don't believe he gives a damn if he tanks the economy. He already achieved his goal and if everybody else has to suffer, so be it.
But that's what the voters wanted and will get. This election shows just how sick the country is and his term will bring out nothing but the ugliest parts of American society. What other sane country would ever enthusiastically support a twice impeached, insurrection leading, hate mongering, felon and rapist who clearly states that he will act like a dictator and is rewarded with complete party and idealogical control of all three branches of the federal government for a second time? The USA. We did this on our own and can't blame anyone else for this outcome, even if some of us knew what would inevitably happen and tried to vote in opposition. Since we didn't win, we're all going to live through it.

And you got the outcome you wanted, R92, based on a lie. The border was never "wide open" and Trump actively killed bipartisan legislation that addressed immigration reform. His party/cult caved in on his behalf to spite Biden and the Democrats. He wasn't about to give up one of his primary talking points in the campaign, either. Demonizing immigrants as criminals, rapists, dog-consuming blacks from shithole countries and roving migrant gangs of refrigerator-stealing bandits coming to a doorstep near you were used to rile up his base with grand visions of mass deportations they could sit back and watch for free. Trump may have conned you and enough of the American electorate to win, but that shit doesn't fly around here.
by Anonymous | reply 99 | November 9, 2024 4:49 AM

The problem is that the border control is complicated. Biden’s mistake was to follow the law. Republicans have milked this, and now that we are just going to ignore the law and do what Stephen Miller wants, i don’t think it will be the issue for them in the future. Democrats certainly aren’t going to risk defending immigrants.
But don’t be surprised when the rule of law and court decisions are ignored in areas that are important to you. That’s authoritarianism, and it’s where we’re going.

JD isn’t even number 2. Musk is the co president, Jr and Jared are next then Shady Vance. Will people keep that enter on 2028 and ask why Shady didn’t sign his own legislation to undermine Trump? Like hell they will.
We are dealing with a one in 250 years figure who has brainwashed the country and can do no wrong. Anyone who thinks Shapiro or Beshar was gong to beat this isn’t paying attention.

I highly suggest people on this thread stop discussing Trump’s “policies”
It’s time to recognize that Trump’s policies are non-existent. Please take some time to delve into Elon Musk’s & Peter Thiel’s policies, along with the policies of the other 6-7 billionaires who basically purchased the results of this election.

The problem with the wait and see crowd is that this mentally ill mentally incompetent paranoid old man will be in charge of thousands of nuclear weapons. If he wakes up one day having a dream that China was attacking us, he would start a nuclear war which would end civilization in a couple hours. So much as we would all like to "wait and see," we have to take a page from their book and resist every day everything he does because as they say, "the idle mind is the devil's playground" and we have to keep him so busy fighting obstructions that he doesn't have time to think about dropping nuclear bombs on hurricanes or earthquake faults. The public will be angry, but their anger is a permanent feature of their puny little pea-brains and cannot be avoided in any case. And instead of targeting politicians, we need to target all of the largest Republican donors for destruction. Without the money from people like Elon, he could not have prevailed even with the little cat-calls to racism and misogyny.

R119, if that were remotely true, they wouldn't have voted for the party who regularly uses those terms and are grand masters of the culture wars. They were just talking points before, but get ready for authoritarian republicans to turn regressive, bigoted, racist and hateful ideologies into policy. Whether the people want it or not.

I recently had a conversation with one of my favorite low information voters who get their news from Facebook (actually, they don't read anything but Facebook). Anyway, we talked about the election and she waxed on about her love of RFK Jr (she's ant-vaxxer) and when I mentioned Kamala, her immediate reaction was "oh, I don't like her!" When I asked why, she started stammering (the economy, Dems waited too long, wasn't specific, etc), but there was clearly a reason she didn't want to *say* - and I think we can all get what it is. So as others aptly noted, except for the hardcore MAGAs, I think it was a vote against Biden - and people like her were no doubt still mad about the vax mandate & other COVID restrictions. Both she & her husband are in the service industry and while I don't wish anything bad on them, I look forward to the day when RFK shows his true colors and her delusion gets exposed for what it is.

'Men hate women, and white people hate black people.'
Dems talk like this which is a fact. And Trump won. Dems are very very arrogant stupid people and they will never learn. They are too righteous and full of themselves. They like rethugs don't give a flying fuck about anyone else but themselves. Human nature. With Trump they knew what they were getting and much to Kamala's misfortune they knew what they were getting with her, The worst Democratic nominee ever who would have been a disaster in a primary and never won it. Which is why she had to spend more than a billion dollars on a failed campaign. You think somebody like Oprah would have offered the services of her company to Kamala as a contribution. But Oprah didn't become a billionaire by being an idiot with her money. She knew.

Here is a little anecdote. For the past week, in the evenings, I've had my television on of those digital IP channels that show nothing but old sitcoms. Anyways, I've paid attention to the show Just Shoot Me, as Im cleaning up, on the phone, doing laundry etc. On 3 different occasions I noticed Trump being talked about by the elder Jewish actor who owns the magazine. So often that I realized it must be some type of running gag on the show, with the character having some type of rivalry with Trump. I said in 2016, if trump fucked around and won, he would become the most dangerous and influential president of all time. Because he has been built into our popular country and it's fucking with the subconscious psyche of average iq Americans.
Fuck you Morning Joe for legitimizing him.

It was the Denver mayor who first said that he intended to violate the law and intended to be arrested. The border czar agreed that if the mayor broke the law and wanted to be arrested, the federal government would properly arrest him. If the mayor wants to put on a show, that's on him.

Over 90% of fentanyl in the US is coming through legal ports of entry, and is being trafficked and dealt by US citizens. The bullshit narrative that it is coming illegally through our porous borders is just a wedge narrative for political gains.

r153 I'm not defending the mayor of Denver, but we are far from knowing that some of Trump's planned actions are "lawful". He's already said he plans to use US military to do these deportations, but there are huge guardrails in the Posse Comitatus Act and elsewhere to prevent federal troops from "invading" places within our own borders. The lawsuits will begin being filed moments after the first efforts. Moreover, when the "show" deportations begin, I suspect the "outings" will begin. There are probably dozens, if not hundreds of Trump appointees and highly placed Republicans with illegals working as nannies, gardeners, cooks, landscapers, construction workers, repairmen, roofers, etc, etc. It's not a good look when the people ordering deportations have been hiring illegals all along. The deplorables will be late to hear about it though, because for sure FOX news will not report it. But fully half of us didn't vote for Trump and we watch other channels, so we will know about it and we will speak openly about it to the Trumpers in our environments. right?
This is not a situation analogous to George Wallace, who had been ordered to desegregate schools, because the laws had already been decided by the courts, unlike what is being proposed here.

You know, Nixon popularized the notion, in his 1968 campaign that the federal government would get "tough on crime" when in fact the federal government has very little to do with local law enforcement. Since then the Federal government has wandered into the crime issue as if they could restore order and safety. Even passed a crime bill in 1994. They exploit people's fear of crime, which is different from the reality of local crime. As for inflation, t here are so many hidden fees and costs at various stages in the supply chain that the farmer sees a very small % of the profit from growing food, and the costs eventually get passed on to the consumer. Where Biden dropped the ball big time, is with Housing. It is a huge driver of inflation. The US has no housing policy and neither do many states. It was a real Achilles heel in this election.
