What changes in the gay community do you think will occur during the 2nd term of Trump's Presidency?

What are your predictions for the next for 4 years?

by Anonymousreply 122November 7, 2024 1:26 AM

4 more years of not having a boyfriend

by Anonymousreply 1November 6, 2024 6:23 AM

More legislation against trans, marriage will be challenged, as will gay adoption and IVF for gay couples.

by Anonymousreply 2November 6, 2024 6:24 AM

Overturning of Obergefell. Roaming gangs of MAGA thugs just like the Brownshirts.

by Anonymousreply 3November 6, 2024 6:27 AM

Ryan White Care Act for HIV care and things like Prep will be de-funded ASAP.

by Anonymousreply 4November 6, 2024 6:28 AM

A lot more gay magats.

by Anonymousreply 5November 6, 2024 6:28 AM

Gay will be driven under ground like it used to be 100 years ago. MAGAts will feel embolden to harass, taunt and murder them like they used to.

Hate crime laws? Ha, Ha, Ha, what are those. Kiss those Goodbye.

by Anonymousreply 6November 6, 2024 6:31 AM

SCOTUS will overturn Obergfell and Lawrence v Texas.

Americans are about to be reminded how cruel Trump and MAGA can be.

by Anonymousreply 7November 6, 2024 6:42 AM

The “normal gay guys” courted by JD Vance will soon discover that Vance was joking about the “normal” part.

by Anonymousreply 8November 6, 2024 7:10 AM

Melania separates from Donald in all but name, moves to NYC while Barron attends a local college, becomes gay icon, has show on Broadway.

by Anonymousreply 9November 6, 2024 7:12 AM

Government will monitor all pregnancies.

by Anonymousreply 10November 6, 2024 7:14 AM

Do you think existing gay marriages will be affected?

by Anonymousreply 11November 6, 2024 7:26 AM

Yes. They will be invalidated. As will all gay adoptions.

These Nazis mean business.

by Anonymousreply 12November 6, 2024 7:52 AM

I think Supreme Court will overturn nationwide gay narrisgev- will send it back to states.

Trans will really be targeted..

by Anonymousreply 13November 6, 2024 7:52 AM

Oh ffs, no they wont R12. They weren't before.

by Anonymousreply 14November 6, 2024 8:48 AM

We’re done. America died tonight. Happens to the best of of concepts.

by Anonymousreply 15November 6, 2024 8:52 AM

They were before you're right R14. But TRUMP now is a vindictive cunt WITH a mandate and a very willing Supreme Court behind him. It might not be his idea, but he won't block it from happening, that is for sure. Just like a national ban on abortions. He's not for it, but he will have bigger fish to cross off his vendetta list to care about blocking it from passing.

by Anonymousreply 16November 6, 2024 8:53 AM

^ they weren't before...

by Anonymousreply 17November 6, 2024 8:53 AM

In the gay community specifically? Not much will change.

by Anonymousreply 18November 6, 2024 8:56 AM

If we have any sense, out with the Qs and Ts overweighting their representation in our cause.

by Anonymousreply 19November 6, 2024 9:00 AM

"Normal" Gays will begin to more publicly separate themselves from "Dudes with Tits" instead of it just being kitchen table talk on DL.

by Anonymousreply 20November 6, 2024 9:01 AM

I hope they annoying the living fuck out of r19 for the rest of their days.

by Anonymousreply 21November 6, 2024 9:03 AM

All of the cos-playing purple haired campus warriors are scheduling their blond rinse blowouts as I type and erasing their social media history.

by Anonymousreply 22November 6, 2024 9:05 AM

[quote]Trans will really be targeted..

Well I am not ant-trans but I have been arguing with my one Trans friend on FB. Not only was she totally into voting for Trump, she just gloated about it on FB with a post directed at me rubbing in his win. I hope she fells the pinch once the Repugs start making laws she will not be so happy about.

by Anonymousreply 23November 6, 2024 9:09 AM

[quote]"Normal" Gays will begin to more publicly separate themselves from "Dudes with Tits" instead of it just being kitchen table talk on DL.

Finally: some good news!

Current marriages will not be impacted. Future marriages will be attacked a lot maybe but that’s not going anywhere in fact.

Americans love the concept of marriage. Most Americans would think that two gay men living at home together having a productive life to be a good thing.

Now meth taking, popper sniffing, orgy lovers, who say they would never fuck anyone they say ever use a condom Amd are in there 6th Dx of a std ——these party boys may find it tougher.Especially if we see another major infectious disease coming from gay male s.

The next outbreak it will not be the loving supportive friendly cdc you remember that will take charge and make recommendations

by Anonymousreply 25November 6, 2024 9:21 AM

If you think Vance and his ilk won’t go after “normal” gays you’re delusional. They may go after trans people first but they won’t discriminate among who’s who. If you don’t have sex to reproduce you’re on the hit list.

by Anonymousreply 26November 6, 2024 9:23 AM

Anybody who was around in the 80's and 90's knows "normal" won't save you.

by Anonymousreply 27November 6, 2024 9:28 AM

Omg R25, wake up. Americans might love marriage but Trump’s Nazi freaks want marriages that produce white babies. And guess what, you don’t have the kind of sex that provides them. Besides, you saw how quickly Americans can turn on a dime. From the normalcy of Biden to the chaos and hate of Trump.

by Anonymousreply 28November 6, 2024 9:30 AM

Also, r25 is a truly vindictive cunt. I'm glad she's Georgia Meloni's problem. She LOVES the gays. 🚫

by Anonymousreply 29November 6, 2024 9:31 AM

[quote]Current marriages will not be impacted.

You have no proof of that. You are living in a fantasy world. "Row v Wade will never be overturned, it's established law" remember that? Gay marriage is on a much, much thinner thread of legality.

by Anonymousreply 30November 6, 2024 9:36 AM

Respect for Marriage Act

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 31November 6, 2024 9:37 AM

The Heritage Foundation/Project 2025 cites the “truths,” “facts,” and “reality” of biological sex to argue against gay marriage, just as they do with transgender identity. They won’t stop at banning future same-sex marriages; their ultimate goal is to invalidate ALL gay marriages.

by Anonymousreply 32November 6, 2024 9:39 AM

They'll have to get a repeal of the repsect for marriage act, then.

by Anonymousreply 33November 6, 2024 9:42 AM

That won’t be a problem for them.

by Anonymousreply 34November 6, 2024 9:43 AM

R29

It’s an observation and a prediction. Instead of name calling why don’t you explain how the next std epidemic that comes from the community will be dealt with by the trump kennedy Vance cdc in a normal supportive way.

The cdc of 1980 is no more.

The major serious target on gays will not be about marriage or fucking or sin it’s going to be disease, But at least with a little care std can be prevented, That is the good news,

by Anonymousreply 35November 6, 2024 9:44 AM

Now you get why Joe didn't want to get rid of the filibuster.

by Anonymousreply 36November 6, 2024 9:45 AM

Where there is a will there is a way. Heritage Foundation, MAGA, Evangelicals along with the Republican party control of congress and the Presidency will not think twice about finding a legal or illegal way of dissolving all gay marriages. Oh and most of all they will have the blessing of the Supreme Court.

I can see it now. Why should MAGA Karen have her rights violated by having her taxes go to homosexuals she does not agree should exist to fund their spousal dead benefits of Social Security when God believes it's a sin.

Better start thinking now about getting a state domestic partnership. Not as good but better than nothing.

by Anonymousreply 37November 6, 2024 9:48 AM

A stampede back into the closet as MAGA begins to attack and kill gay and lesbian people as well as anyone suspected of being either.

Expect to be slaughtered in the streets with no medical or police help.

by Anonymousreply 38November 6, 2024 9:49 AM

You can ideate like that all you want, but I won't. Seems a bit il-advised in the fog of defeat. Just because we lost doesn't mean the opposition disintegrates.

by Anonymousreply 39November 6, 2024 9:50 AM

R39, this isn't a Republican win.

It's an evil win.

These people are insane, stupid and very, very evil.

They want us dead.

by Anonymousreply 40November 6, 2024 9:52 AM

There is no "fog of defeat" They won, we lost, we are screwed, your still in shock.

by Anonymousreply 41November 6, 2024 9:54 AM

It would be hilarious if porn is targeted. So many porn “stars” love Trump.

by Anonymousreply 42November 6, 2024 9:55 AM

Beards and Merkins will be a thing again.

by Anonymousreply 43November 6, 2024 9:57 AM

There will be no slaughter in the streets or stampede back into the closet.

by Anonymousreply 44November 6, 2024 9:57 AM

R44, BULLSHIT

by Anonymousreply 45November 6, 2024 9:58 AM

R40 it was a real old fashioned ass kicking given by the majority of American voters. We lost big time, We got our ass kicked. We were made to look stupid

in sports at least most of the time the better team wins the weaker team loses . Politics as well.

They were better we were not,

by Anonymousreply 46November 6, 2024 10:01 AM

Give it time R44, those things dont happen over night. The gays of Germany thought that would never happen either. They had clubs and business just like we do now. It was a very progressive society about that until it wasn't. And we know how that ended up.

by Anonymousreply 47November 6, 2024 10:02 AM

No one was put in camps before, and they won't be now. Probably males won't be competing in women's sports though, and that's not a bad thing. All the smug assholes gloating about this dude beating up women at the olympics should be fucking ashamed. This never should have happened.

You know what did work? Anger, grievance, ignorance and sticking it the Libs.

by Anonymousreply 49November 6, 2024 10:09 AM

You know what might have worked? Not running fucking Biden 2.0, not gaslighting people about it and about Biden, and not (again) insulting half the fucking country by calling trump supporters "garbage".

by Anonymousreply 50November 6, 2024 10:14 AM

I hope Joe does something powerful In his final days in office

by Anonymousreply 51November 6, 2024 10:19 AM

Oh, fuck off, R50. Trump’s re-election doesn’t make you sound any smarter. Calling Trump supporters “garbage”…please. These voters were all in the bag for Trump longer than that. They don’t have any understanding of any issues. They don’t think anything is under threat. They’re RACISTS. And MISOGYNISTS. Get it? That’s why nothing Trump does offends them - it is a completely shared sensibility.

Trump isn’t going to DO anything. He’s just going to UNDO things. There’s actually a good chance that with people like Musk and RFK, Jr. in charge, that his presidency could look a lot like Liz Truss’ premiership in the UK - people notice when you put a complete idiot in charge. And he’s already promised A LOT of idiocy.

He’s supposed to start rounding up 12M people and deporting them on the 20th of January 2025. He’s supposed to “fix” Obama care so children over 18 will be thrown off their parents’ policies and suddenly everybody is going to have a pre-existing condition that won’t be covered. Plus, prescription prices will go back up, etc.

People will say for about 6 months that the economy feels better under Trump - and then they won’t be able to say that but will probably have to keep it to themselves.

The Trump tax cuts will be made permanent - racking up the national debt and increasing taxes on the middle class and requiring the closing of every federal program. We won’t be able to pay for hurricane disasters anymore which is what he did the last time he was in office.

So fuck off with your “Biden didn’t do a two-step” bullshit. If this is a failure of democracy, it’s a failure of the media first - and they’re about to get theirs handed to them too. There’s going to be one state news channel now and it’s called Fox. So fuck them too.

And fuck these women who don’t even believe in their own health care. They’re going to be like, “B-but, but I’m WHITE! And I miscarried!!” Too bad. You die of sepsis. They’ll find out.

by Anonymousreply 52November 6, 2024 10:39 AM

R49 yes we agree they had a winning approach and we did not. And being right is not the issue winning is. Winning is the only issue worth a fuck.

People that have played sports, and they are not all GOP, understand that sometime you are just not going to win.

by Anonymousreply 53November 6, 2024 11:58 AM

In sports you don’t always win but you have a chance next time. In this case there won’t be a next time. He’s in for life and then he’s already got a list of who is next.

by Anonymousreply 54November 6, 2024 12:01 PM

R54 Deregulation. It happens in sports. Coaches get fired. Players let go. And sometimes you never get back to the big time.

But you are correct losing has consequences. And a lot more consequences losing to trump. But we lost it was not stolen. They were just better at that winning thing.

by Anonymousreply 58November 6, 2024 1:25 PM

Nice thought but as we learned when this was attempted when he was elected, he doesn't have the power to do this.

by Anonymousreply 59November 6, 2024 1:30 PM

This election was about LGBTQ+. Don't even fool yourselves otherwise. The Breeders have been in agony since same sex marriage went into effect. They will not rest.

by Anonymousreply 60November 6, 2024 1:37 PM

[quote]In sports you don’t always win but you have a chance next time

In sports you have an actual referee, if not several calling out the truth. And when called, but sides respected the decision. We had none of that with this election. Didn't Trump even threaten to take CBS to court? Or was it CNN?

by Anonymousreply 61November 6, 2024 1:43 PM

[quote]This election was about LGBTQ+.

Actually it was only about T. Lets be honest here, there were no anti-gay ads from the Trump team. There were anit-T adds because that's what triggers most straight people and all of MAGA. They spent 30 million on anti T ads which aired almost 30,000 times within one month. It worked.

Shocking someone running for public office that did not tell the truth.

So now we are blaming the loss on , I will say anything stupid trump and the inane threats he made?

I doubt trumps rants had much impact on anything and hardly anyone. And that is what is truly shocking.

by Anonymousreply 64November 6, 2024 1:56 PM

The trans and sports issue did a lot more harm that it ever could do good. Not only were parents and coaches and players upset so were many on DL.

The trans issue bit Harris in the ass.

by Anonymousreply 65November 6, 2024 1:58 PM

Trump made a MOCKERY of democracy. He said he would be a dictator on day one. And that there would be no more elections after this.

Stop acting like this was in any way a normal election. That’s just total bullshit.

by Anonymousreply 66November 6, 2024 2:01 PM

by Anonymousreply 72November 6, 2024 4:30 PM

r25 There is no reason to believe current marriages are fine. Like abortion, if the supreme court decision is overturned , marriages will revert to whatever is still on the books in many states. Many states didn't update their constitutions or laws to reflect the court decision. So all gay marriages will be null in states that never passed it.

by Anonymousreply 73November 6, 2024 4:50 PM

The gay marriage fight is not over. People should focus on statutory and state constitutions and getting gay marriage legal there.

by Anonymousreply 74November 6, 2024 4:52 PM

A lot of gays with money invested are making a shit load more money today,

A positive change

by Anonymousreply 75November 6, 2024 4:53 PM

r60 The election was about the border crisis, being anti immigrant, and abortion. Not really gay marriage. Maybe anti trans.

by Anonymousreply 76November 6, 2024 4:54 PM

R76 and maybe the economy

Take this with a grain of salt, I thought Biden was going to win, they are not going after gay marriage. It’s a prediction.

by Anonymousreply 83November 6, 2024 5:49 PM

1. End of any employment and non-discriminations in federal employment. Encourage individual states to do what they will with current LGBT protections.

2. States will be encouraged to stop performing gay marriages and recognizing gay adoptions. Overturning Obergefell will mean no more federal recognition of same-sex marriage. It will be left to the individual states how to deal with current marriages.

3. Separation of health care insurance protections. Insurers will offer a general form of health insurance that will not cover abortion, PREP, IVF or gender-affirming care for "regular people", and a version with higher premiums and higher co-pay to cover "non-Christian" services and unmarried people.

I expect 2 Americas with different treatment for LGBT people, pro-choice women, etc that will lack a social safety net in red states.

by Anonymousreply 84November 6, 2024 6:05 PM

R84

I normally expect bullshit. That is a post that makes you think.

by Anonymousreply 85November 6, 2024 6:08 PM

I never thought my marriage was something that could be erased but I think it will be. It will be a legal mess and all of the burden will be left on the gay couple. It will cost in legal fees and taxes. It will ruin many couples both financially and emotionally. It will eat at retirement savings by creating greater cost to undo what has been working.

Prep will no longer be covered. After years of sex without condoms it will be impossible for this generation to start wearing them. New super bugs will emerge and destroy our community again.

Even for "normal gays" whatever that is, it will be a dark time. Only the richest will survive. Even the affluent will struggle.

I haven't even considered couples with kids.

by Anonymousreply 86November 6, 2024 6:11 PM

Same-sex marriage will be challenged in court as will gay people adopting. There will be no rights granted to trans people.

Discrimination of gays in the workplace will continue with laws supporting discrimination will likely pass.

The Supreme Court will vote down anything advancing the rights of gays.

by Anonymousreply 87November 6, 2024 6:19 PM

They are not coming after marriage. They have good will built up. They are not going after an issue only the fringe cares about and does them no real good. .its just not worth the effort or risks

They always have abortion

During the 1980s gay men after many decadesc of unprotected sex started to use condoms in great numbers. Syphilis and GC rates dropped like a giant really heavy rock. We almost eliminated syphilis within the gay community as a major public health problem.

People will adjust when they have to.

I do wonder what they will do with PREP. You could be right about that?

by Anonymousreply 88November 6, 2024 6:20 PM

Gay men EVENTUALLY learned to use condoms but we lost a generation in the process. That is my point with Prep. Yes, eventually habits change but an entire group is lost in the process. That is what will happen here.

by Anonymousreply 89November 6, 2024 6:24 PM

Everything will be overturned including black and white marriages -except for Clarence/Ginny Thomas-they’re special.

by Anonymousreply 90November 6, 2024 6:45 PM

R89 how would it work if they did want to go after PREP. And why would anyone go after PrEP realizing it would lead to a giant spike in HIV ? No one is in favor of more HIV. And no admin wants to be the admin that lead to a massive increase in hiv. That is a counterproductive move.

Now I could see them criminalizing unprotected high risk sex acts that lead to a serious disease. That I can see. Use the condoms and gloves or else. But that only happens if we have a new serious epidemic.

by Anonymousreply 91November 6, 2024 6:54 PM

You gays... Is fucking that important we are fretting over PREP to protect bare sex? Talk about stereotypes. Let's get back to marriage.

by Anonymousreply 92November 6, 2024 7:01 PM

My husband and I have been together for 20 years and we've been married for 2 years. Weren't they allegedly gunning for gay marriage in Trump's last administration, but nothing ever happened?

by Anonymousreply 93November 6, 2024 7:11 PM

Nothing happened because they didn't have Project 2025. Thomas and Alito have BOTH said they want to revisit this.

by Anonymousreply 94November 6, 2024 7:37 PM

R93 In his first term, Trump laid the groundwork for Project 2025 by appointing 3 conservative supreme court justices, and in this term he’ll re-stack the court with young, conservative justices (when Alito and Thomas retire), so there’ll be plenty of time to rebuild and reinforce a hierarchy led by straight men, in which gay marriage is no longer legally recognized.

by Anonymousreply 95November 6, 2024 7:38 PM

Yes deplorable R19 , keep bringing that shitty and shameless divisive narrative to our community while religious and non-religious but bigoted cis heterosexuals take away our rights, brilliant and very helpful.

Hey pathetic lesbian deplorable R48, I hope you perform Cameron Diaz style of femininity….

Or soon you will find out that you’re also going to get falsely accused of being trans; or ignorant people will start feeling comfortable in telling you that envy man, that you don’t accept that you’re a woman and that you want be dude, that’s why you imitate guys and so on; just like ignorant people did back in the day.

Interestingly enough, CA ballot measure Prop 3 that just passed last night just changed that. The constitutional change removes a previous provision that barred same-sex marriage and adds new protections in the event the U.S. Supreme Court overturns existing precedent.

by Anonymousreply 100November 6, 2024 8:50 PM

Tell us you were not born when Reagan and the rest of the country didn't mind doing this without telling us you are too naive to realize we have done this before. 2 years ago they were calling us Groomers. Not an intellectual leap they would not mind if HIV meds were cut off and we all died. God's will. Not counterproductive in their minds at all.

by Anonymousreply 101November 6, 2024 8:57 PM

This will lead to rampant homophobia and attacks against our community.

HIV meds are for a lifetime r101 ….Big Pharma will never let those patients / cash cows die.

by Anonymousreply 103November 6, 2024 9:13 PM

by Anonymousreply 104November 6, 2024 9:23 PM

R101 Reagan did not stop aids research. He did not speak ,out publicly. He did not speak at all. But CDC then NIH were on grid before the public even knew there was a problem. And real real soon the gay community knew there was a major killing problem. No one kept that silent.

Reagan was not spreading HIV , men who refused to use condoms for fucking were and those who did not use gloves for fisting did. Holy shit the baths in 1980 were a wild wild unhealthy place. You want guilty look at all those who fought closing the baths .the baths which were the absolute ground central for hiv infections in the US

[quote]Get back to us the first time a member of the new admin talks or hints or suggest in any way about the US govt cutting off HIV meds.

Tell that to the Fundi religious folk that sued for the right to not make a cake for a gay couple and won that right in Supreme Court. Once they get wind of how much money goes to AIDS research and HIV meds, they will be all over this as an assault on their religious beliefs to fund "abomination" through their tax dollars. It's coming, just wait. Trump is not in office yet. Reagan was a saint by comparison.

The young gays are in for some very rough experiences. As an eldergay, I lived through the fear and contempt American society had for homosexuals, Then AIDs happened , it was especially heartbreaking, when we learned quickly how deeply we are despised.

Say goodby to Pride parades, MAGA hates them like the heat of 1,000 suns.

by Anonymousreply 111November 7, 2024 12:49 AM

If the MAGAs intend to kill us….what will you do?

All of eldergays, who are at the end of life, you better strap on suicide vest and blow yourselves to bit at the local Republican headquarters.

IF YOU WILL MURDERED, KILL THOSE WHO ARE KILLING YOU

All porn sites shut down by summer. All gay dating apps closed by summer. Gay people fleeing to safe states like California. Mass firings of gays after Supreme Court ruling in 2026. Gay marriage gone by 2027. Registries for gays in red states by 2027. Prohibition of gays in any education by 2027 in red states. Tiktok censorship or outright ban by 2026. Broadcast standards introduced depicting gay anything in 2027. Military reversal of gays serving 2026. Clean wipe of all gay literature in red states 2027. Increased violence against gays. The pronoun stuff will end by end of 2025 with language usage laws.

The one silver lining might be that gays are forced to go out and meet at the bars. They will have to be hush hush under ground for a while just like the turn of the 20th century. Of course police raids will also be a part of that.

If China attacks Taiwan or if North Korea attacks the South we are potentially in for years of War with Trump at the helm, that is if he even defends them and Japan. So many possibilities that can happen like a World War 3 with the US doing nothing as our allies get eaten one by one.

Lets just hope golfing is on the menu a lot for Trump, that and a lot of Big Macs for the Big Boy :D

Fuck were living in the worst timeline
