I never really thought she could lose. I tried to hold myself back — I remembered Clinton all too well — and I worked at accepting in advance that the outcome was out of my hands and that my monetary donations and postcard writing would have to be enough.

But, damn, this is bad. People all over DL gleefully hoping the country burns. I wanted us to be BETTER THAN MAGAS. I took it for granted we are!

R10 after Hilary’s loss I became VERY cynical about elections. I hoped Harris would win but prepared for her to lose, so it was like an expected dump of icy water on my head.

I’m gonna be 64 in December and the plan is to retire at 68 but now I’m not sure if it’s smart to wait until then. Now my plan is to talk to my 401k people in December and see if maybe I should retire sooner before everything goes in the toilet.
